MORAVIAN’S TIMOTHY LAYNG HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE
MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK FOR A SECOND CONSECUTIVE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Sophomore pole vaulter Timothy Layng (Canton, PA/Canton HS) of the Moravian College men’s indoor track & field team has been named the Landmark Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for the second straight week after his performance last week.

For the second consecutive week, Layng set the Moravian school record in the pole vault, this week at the non-scoring Keogh Invitational hosted by Haverford College.  Layng finished second in the pole vault with a school record, NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying height of 4.76 meters (15 feet, 7 1/4 inches).  The height was 4 1/4 inches higher than the mark he set last weekend.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, February 27th at the 2010 Landmark Conference Championships hosted by Susquehanna University.
