MORAVIAN’S JESSICA POSIMO HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Senior sprinter/jumper Jessica Posimo (Philadelphia, PA/St. Basil Academy HS) of the Moravian College women’s indoor track & field team has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Posimo helped Moravian to a strong showing at the non-scoring Keogh Invitational in the team's last tune-up before the 2010 Landmark Conference Championships.  Posimo won the 55-meter hurdles in an ECAC qualifying time of 8.81 seconds, and she placed eighth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 27.60 seconds and 15th in the 55-meter dash in 7.88 seconds.  Posimo also ran a leg on Moravian’s first place 4x200-meter relay team that had an ECAC qualifying time of 1:46.17.  In field events, Posimo took fourth in the triple jump at 10.51 meters (34 feet, 5 3/4 inches), and she was sixth in the long jump at 5.03 meters (16 feet, six inches).

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, February 27th at the 2010 Landmark Conference Championships hosted by Susquehanna University.
