MORAVIAN WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD TEAM EARNS 2010 DIVISION III ALL-ACADEMIC AWARD FROM USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, LA --- The Moravian College women’s track & field team is one of 106 institutions to earn 2010 Division III All-Academic Women’s Team honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Greyhounds posted a team grade-point average of 3.42 last season, and were one of two schools from the Landmark Conference, the other being Goucher College.  On the men’s side, Juniata College was the only Landmark Conference school to earn All-Academic honors.

The Moravian women have captured both the indoor and outdoor Landmark Conference title in each of the last three years, and the squad has won 29 conference titles, 16 outdoors and 13 indoors, over the last 18 years.

For a team to earn All-Academic honors from the USTFCCCA, the squad must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.1 of better.  Haverford College had the highest GPA in the nation at 3.66.
