MORAVIAN FIELD HOCKEY SELECTED SIXTH IN LANDMARK CONFERENCE PRESEASON POLL

MADISON, N.J. --- The Moravian College field hockey team has been selected sixth in the 2010 Landmark Conference season in a preseason poll selected by the conference’s head coaches and sports information directors.

Three-time defending Landmark Conference Champion Juniata College was picked first in the poll with 75 points while The Catholic University of America was second with 65 points.  Susquehanna University earned 54 points to finish third in the poll while Drew University received 42 points to hold down the fourth position.  The University of Scranton received 38 points for fifth place while Moravian had 26 points in sixth place and Goucher College rounded out the poll with 15 points.

The Greyhounds look to move forward with the progression the team has posted over the last few years with five returning starters and 12 returning letterwinners back for the 2010 season under the direction of head coach Amy Endler.  The team returned to campus on Wednesday, August 18th to begin preseason camp.

Moravian begins its 2010 season on Wednesday, September 1st in a non-conference match at DeSales University.  Moravian plays its first home contest on Saturday, September 4th when Marywood University comes to Bethlehem for a 1:00 p.m. match at Betty Prince Field.  The 2010 Landmark Conference season will begin on Saturday, September 25th as the Greyhounds host Drew at 1:00 p.m.
