MORAVIAN’S SARAH HALPIN HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE
WOMEN’S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Senior goalie Sarah Haplin (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown West HS) of the Moravian College women’s soccer team has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Halpin was named the Most Valuable Player at the Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament hosted by Penn State-Behrend that Moravian won over the weekend.  Halpin started the season with a 227 minute scoreless streak before allowing a goal.  She had a 0.58 goals-against average, two shutouts, 24 saves and a 2-0-1 record last week.  Halpin had a career high 13 saves in the season opening 0-0, double overtime tie to Lebanon Valley College.

Moravian, which is 2-0-1 overall, is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, September 8th in a non-conference match versus Ursinus College beginning at 4:00 p.m. on the HUB Quad.
