THREE GREYHOUNDS RANKED IN NCAA FIELD HOCKEY STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College field hockey team has three individuals ranked in the fourth NCAA Division III Field Hockey statistics release of the 2010 season for contests through October 3rd, and the Greyhounds are ranked in the top 50 in two categories.

Senior midfielder Maureen Helfers (Westbury, NY/W.T. Clarke HS) , pictured at right, is tied for 25th in the country with an average of 0.70 assists per game, with seven assists in Moravian’s first ten matches of the year.

Senior defender Maura Acox (Old Bridge, NJ/St. John Vianney HS), pictured at left, and sophomore defender Stephanie Pezzello (Holmdel, NJ/St. John Vianney HS), pictured at bottom right, are both tied for 24th in the nation in defensive saves with four each this fall.

Moravian is tied for 50th in the nation in assists per match at 1.80, and the Greyhounds are tied for 12th in defensive saves with a total of ten this season.

The Greyhounds, who are 4-7 on the season, will return to action on Saturday, October 9th versus NCAA Division II Mercy College in a non-conference match beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Betty Prince Field.
