MORAVIAN MEN’S BASKETBALL SQUAD SELECTED SEVENTH IN LANDMARK CONFERENCE PRESEASON POLL

MADISON, N.J. --- The 2010-11 Moravian College men’s basketball team has been picked seventh in the Landmark Conference season in a preseason poll selected by the conference’s head coaches and sports information directors.

The Catholic University of America was picked first in the poll with 77 points while the United States Merchant Marine Academy is second with 74 points.  The University of Scranton and Susquehanna University hold the third and fourth spots with 68 and 54 points respectively while Goucher College holds down the fifth spot with 44 points.  Juniata College is sixth with 29 points while the Greyhounds are seventh with 26 points.  Drew University rounds out the poll with 17 points.

The 2010-11 Moravian men’s basketball team looks to return to the postseason after a disappointing campaign last winter. Head coach Jim Walker, who enters his 31st season, has eight letterwinners returning and three starters back from last year’s 7-18 squad.

The Greyhounds begin their 2010-11 season against Muhlenberg College on Monday, November 15th at 8:00 p.m. in Allentown before a trip to New York City to compete in the New York University Tip-Off Tournament.  The Greyhounds begin the Landmark Conference season on Saturday, December 4th with a game versus Scranton at 2:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.  The top four teams in the regular season will advance to the postseason tournament which begins on February 23rd.
