MORAVIAN’S DIANA FELDMANN NAMED TO ESPN ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT FIRST TEAM

BETHLEHEM, PA --- Junior defender Diana Feldmann (York, PA/Central York HS) has been named to the 2010 ESPN Academic All-District II College Division Women’s Soccer First Team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

By making the All-District First Team, Feldmann is now forwarded onto the national ballot to try for ESPN Academic All-American® accolades, which will be announced on Thursday, November 18th.  Moravian has had 34 ESPNAcademic All-Americans including 29 in the last 17 years.

To be eligible for ESPN Academic All-America® accolades, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.30 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve. The College Division is made up of all the NCAA Division II and III schools in the nation as well as all NAIA schools.  Student-athletes from NCAA Division I schools are named to the University Division Teams.  District II is made up of schools from Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Feldmann, who is in her third season as a starting defender for the Greyhounds, was named to the ESPN Academic All-District Second Team last year as well as the Landmark All-Conference First Team.  Feldmann has started all 19 matches this season and helped Moravian post two shutouts.  In her career, Feldmann has started all 59 matches with three goals and four assists for ten points.  Feldmann is majoring in Environmental Science.

Moravian, which is 5-12-2 overall and 3-3 in Landmark Conference action, will return to action on Wednesday, November 3rd in the Landmark Conference Semifinals as the fourth seeded Greyhounds travel to top seed The University of Scranton for a 7:00 p.m. match.
