MORAVIAN BASEBALL TEAM RECEIVES VOTES AGAIN IN D3BASEBALL/NCBWA DIVISION III TOP 25 POLL

MINNEAPOLIS, MN --- The Moravian College baseball team received votes in the second regular season D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll released Tuesday. 

Heidelberg (OH) University holds down the top spot in the poll with 618 points and 22 first-place votes while Kean (NJ) University is second with 581 points and two first-place votes.  Shenandoah University is third with 560 points while defending national champion Illinois Wesleyan University has the final first-place vote and is ranked 11th with 322 points.

The Greyhounds, who received one point in the preseason poll released on January 20th and four points in last week’s first pole, earned eight points in the second regular season poll.  Moravian is 14th of 24 teams that received votes outside of the top 25.  The Greyhounds have a game scheduled on March 31st versus Montclair State University, which also received votes in the poll this week. 

Moravian, under the direction of fifth-year head coach Paul Engelhardt (80-76), has started the 2011 season with a 4-2 record, and the squad will return to action on Wednesday, March 9th in a doubleheader versus SUNY Institute of Technology at the RussMatt Invitational.
