MORAVIAN SOFTBALL SQUAD MOVES UP TO 22ND IN LATEST NFCA DIVISION III TOP 25 POLL

STARKVILLE, MS --- The Moravian College softball team moved up three spots to 22nd in the fifth regular season National Fastpitch Coaches Association NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll for 2011 released Wednesday. 

Linfield (OR) College and Emory (GA) University each received four first-place votes and are tied for first with 195 points apiece.  Louisiana College moved up to fifth place with 174 points while Eastern Connecticut State University and Luther (IA) College are tied for fourth with 168 points. 

The Greyhounds, who had 33 points, were seventh in the preseason poll and tied for ninth in the first regular season poll before falling to 11th three weeks ago.  Moravian was 23rd in the third regular season poll and dropped to 25th last week.

Moravian is currently 11-3 on the season including a 5-3 loss to Emory on March 8th, and a doubleheader split winning 3-0 and losing 6-0 to 19th-ranked The College of New Jersey on March 17th.
