MORAVIAN’S BRENDAN CLOSE HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK AGAIN
MADISON, N.J. --- Junior pitcher Brendan Close (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom HS) of the Moravian College baseball team has been named the Landmark Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for a second straight week for his performance last week.
Close continued his standout season with a five-hit, 1-0 win over Susquehanna University in his only game last week. Close posted his second straight shutout and has not allowed a run in 17 innings, and the victory was his school record 17th career win. Close also allowed one walk while striking out nine Crusaders. Close is now 17-3 in his Moravian career, and moved into second in the record books with his fifth career shutout, and he is second with 177 career strikeouts..
The Greyhounds, 12-6 overall and 5-1 in Landmark Conference action, are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, March 30th in a non-conference game versus Misericordia University beginning at 3:30 p.m. at Gillespie Field.
