MORAVIAN SOFTBALL SQUAD DROPS TO 18TH IN LATEST NFCA DIVISION III TOP 25 POLL

STARKVILLE, MS --- The Moravian College softball team dropped one spot to 18th in the ninth regular season National Fastpitch Coaches Association NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll for 2011 released Wednesday. 

Linfield (OR) received all eight first-place votes and 200 points to hold down the top position for a tenth straight week while Emory (GA) University has 189 points for second place.  Central (IA) College is in third place with 184 points while The United States Coast Guard Academy is fourth with 175 points.  East Texas Baptist University moved into the fifth spot with 159 points. 

The Greyhounds, who have 67 points, were seventh in the preseason poll and tied for ninth in the first regular season poll before falling to 11th.  Moravian then dropped to 23rd in the fourth regular season poll and down to 25th before rising up to 22nd, then 21st, 18th and 17th last week.

Moravian is currently 28-4 on the season including a 5-3 loss to Emory on March 8th, and a doubleheader split winning 3-0 and losing 6-0 to then-ranked The College of New Jersey on March 17th.
