MORAVIAN SOFTBALL RANKED MOVES UP IN NCAA DIVISION III REGIONAL RANKINGS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College softball team moved up one spot to sixth in the East Region in the second NCAA Division III Regional Rankings released Wednesday. 

The Greyhounds are 30-6 overall and now 25-4 in-region, one of the main criteria’s for the ranking.  Messiah College is ranked first in the region and is followed by Montclair State University, Ramapo College of New Jersey, Rowan University and Lebanon Valley College.  William Paterson University and Susquehanna University round out the top eight in the regional poll.  The complete rankings can be seen at http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/softball/d3/regional_rankings.

Moravian, which is ranked 25th in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 and has a 9-1 mark in Landmark Conference action, is scheduled to return to the field on Saturday, April 30th in Landmark Conference doubleheader versus Susquehanna beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Blue & Grey Field.  The Greyhounds must win both games to earn the top seed in the 2011 Landmark Conference Tournament that begins on Friday, May 6th.
