NEW ORLEANS, LA --- The Moravian College men’s track & field team moved up two spots to 16th in the fourth NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll of the outdoor season released by the U S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Wednesday.

The Greyhound men, who have a team point total of 67.69, were ranked 18th last week after being 13th the previous week and outside the top 25 at 40th three weeks ago, and the Greyhounds were ranked second in the Mideast Region for the last three weeks before falling to third this week.  McMurry University is ranked first with 221.17 points while North Central (IL) College remained second with 152.89.

The Greyhound women, who were ranked 23rd last week, fell out of the top 25 rankings this week.  The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh moved into first on the women’s side with 222.85 points.

The scoring system for the teams shall be the sum of two factors measured per individual/relay performance on the national descending-order lists: place on the descending order list and a weighed value of the individual/relay performance based on the field (“bonus”).  Complete information and the polls can also be found at http://www.ustfccca.org/rankings/division-iii-rankings.

Moravian will return to action on Thursday and Friday, May 19th and 20th when the school hosts the 2011 ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships at Rocco Calvo Field and Timothy Breidegam Track.
