MORAVIAN SOFTBALL MOVES UP AGAIN IN NCAA DIVISION III REGIONAL RANKINGS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College softball team moved up two spots to fourth in the East Region in the third NCAA Division III Regional Rankings released Wednesday. 

The Greyhounds are 32-6 overall and now 27-4 in-region, one of the main criteria’s for the ranking.  Rowan University is ranked first in the region and is followed by Messiah College and Montclair State University.  Behind Moravian, Lebanon Valley College, William Paterson University Ramapo College of New Jersey and The College of New Jersey round out the top eight in the regional poll.  The complete rankings can be seen at http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/softball/d3/regional_rankings.

Moravian, which is ranked 23rd in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 and has an 11-1 mark in Landmark Conference action, is scheduled to return to the field on Friday, May 6th when the squad hosts the 2011 Landmark Conference Tournament at Blue & Grey Field.  The top seeded Greyhounds will take on fourth seed The University of Scranton in the opening game of the tournament at 11:00 a.m.
