FOUR MORAVIAN PLAYERS NAMED TO 2011 LANDMARK MEN’S TENNIS ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS

MADISON, NJ --- The Moravian College men’s tennis team has had four student-athletes earn spots on the 2011 Landmark All-Conference Teams with junior Kevin Holze (Bayside, NY/St. Francis Prep HS) making the First Team as singles players and the Second Team in doubles while senior Doug Morrow (Coopersburg, PA/Southern Lehigh HS) made the First Team in doubles and Second Team in singles.  Junior Nick Yelito (Tamaqua, PA/Tamaqua HS) was a First Team honoree in doubles while junior Drew Shreter (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown HS) earned Second Team accolades in doubles.

The Landmark All-Conference Teams were selected by the conference’s eight head coaches.  The teams consist of six singles players and three doubles pairings per team based on flight.

The quartet helped the Greyhounds under the direction of second-year coach Bill Maxwell to the postseason for the fifth straight season.  The Greyhounds finished the season with an 8-6 mark and was 4-3 in the Landmark Conference regular season, and the squad reached the 2011 Landmark Conference Semifinals.

Holze, who was a Landmark All-Conference Second Team honoree in 2009 in both singles and doubles and in 2010 in singles action, had a 9-6 singles mark this year including an 8-5 mark at first singles.  Holze, pictured at top right, has a three-year record of 40-21, fifth in school history for victories. 

Morrow, who was on the All-Conference First Team in doubles in 2009 and the Second Team a year ago, has an 8-5 singles slate this season including an 8-4 mark at second singles.  Morrow, pictured at left, has a singles mark of 19-29 in his three years at Moravian.

Morrow and Yelito, pictured at right, had Moravian’s top doubles record this season with a 10-4 record this year at first doubles.  The duo was also 6-1 during the Landmark Conference regular season. 

Holze combined with Shreter, pictured at left, for a 7-3 doubles record this season while playing second doubles for the Greyhounds.  Shreter was also on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team in doubles as a freshman in 2009.
