MORAVIAN BASEBALL SLIPS TO 9TH IN THIRD NCAA DIVISION III REGIONAL RANKINGS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College baseball team slipped two spots to ninth in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the third and final NCAA Division III Regional Rankings released Thursday. 

The Greyhounds are 31-9 overall, a school record for wins, and now 30-9 in-region, one of the main criteria’s for the ranking.  Kean University is ranked first in the region and is followed by Rowan University, Keystone College Alvernia University, Frostburg State University, Ramapo College of New Jersey, Rutgers-Newark and The College of New Jersey. 

Moravian dropped a 9-2 decision to TCNJ on March 22nd.  The complete rankings can be seen at http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/baseball/d3/regional_rankings.

Moravian, which had a 17-1 mark in Landmark Conference regular season action, is awaiting the 2011 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament selection on Monday, May 16th to see if the team is one of the 15 at-large berths into the 55-team field.
