FOUR MORAVIAN STUDENT-ATHLETES NAMED TO LANDMARK CONFERENCE FALL ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

MADISON, N.J. --- Senior Brian Hunscher (Ypsilanti, MA/Ann Arbor Pioneer HS) along with juniors Diana Feldmann (York, PA/Central York HS), Matt Lutcza (Dingmans Ferry, PA/Delaware Valley HS) and Cadee Rockwell (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson West Lawn HS) from Moravian College have been named to the 2010 Landmark Conference Fall All-Academic Team announced Wednesday, December 8th.

The Landmark Conference has selected 32 student-athletes for the 2010 Fall Landmark All-Academic Team.  Two male and two female athletes from each of the eight Landmark institutions were selected for the team which honors athletes who have excelled athletically and academically.  Nominees could compete in any of the Landmark fall sports and must be a sophomore or older with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better.

The fall All-Academic Team features 16 seniors, 14 juniors and two sophomores. Twelve of the 32 honorees are earning All-Academic honors for the second time in their career, while one honoree claims the honor for a third time. In addition all six fall sports sponsored by the Landmark Conference are represented with at least one student-athlete.  The Landmark Conference will select an All-Academic Team for each of the three athletic seasons during the year.

Hunscher, pictured at left, closed a strong career for the men’s soccer program with 66 career appearances over four seasons. He served as a team captain in his senior season and produced five assists in his career as a defender and midfielder. Hunscher is a double major in mathematics and education, has been on the Dean’s List every semester, and is a three-time Landmark Academic Honor Roll choice as well. 

Feldmann, pictured at right, helped anchored the Moravian women’s soccer team defense. She was a second-team All-Conference pick as a junior following a first-team selection as a sophomore. This is her second-straight All-Academic selection and she boasts a perfect GPA while majoring in environmental science. Feldmann was chosen for the ESPN Academic All-District Team each of the past two years.

Lutcza, pictured at left, earned the Landmark Conference Men’s Cross Country Outstanding Performer after winning the Landmark Cross Country Championship. He also earned All-Region honors with a 21st-place finish at the NCAA Regional and qualified for the NCAA Championships. Lutcza is studying computer science and he is a four-time member of the Dean’s List and on the All-Academic Team for a second straight year.

Rockwell, pictured at right, had a memorable season for the Moravian women’s cross country team. She was a first-team All-Conference honoree by placing third at the Landmark Championships, then earned All-Region honors with a 17th-place finish at the NCAA Regionals and qualified for the NCAA Championships. Rockwell is studying psychology and studio art and is a three-time Dean’s List honoree.
