MORAVIAN MEN’S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD TEAM PICKED FIRST LANDMARK CONFERENCE PRESEASON POLL

MADISON, N.J. --- The 2010-11 Moravian College men’s indoor track & field team has been picked win the Landmark Conference season in a preseason poll selected by the conference’s head coaches and sports information directors.

The Greyhounds were picked first in the poll with 47 points just three points ahead of runner-up Susquehanna University.  Goucher College and Juniata College finished tied for third with 30 points while The Catholic University of America was fifth with 16 points.  The United States Merchant Marine Academy rounded out the poll with 13 points.

The 2010-11 Moravian men’s indoor track & field team looks to repeat as the Landmark Conference Champion after winning its second title in three years last season. Head coach Walt Wandall, who enters his 4th season, has 30 letterwinners returning including senior Eric Woodruff (Brodheadsville, PA/Pius X HS), who won two events at the Landmark Conference Championships a year ago and is the two-time defending NCAA Champion in the 200-meter dash outdoors.

The Greyhounds opened their 2010-11 season at the non-scoring Lehigh University Season Opener on December 3rd, and the squad will return to action on Saturday, January 22nd at the Lehigh University Invitational.
