TWO MORAVIAN MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS RANKED IN NCAA STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Two student-athletes from the Moravian College men’s basketball team are ranked in the second NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Statistics Ranking of the 2010-11 season through games of January 2nd, and the Greyhounds are ranked in one team category.

Sophomore guard D.J. Strayhorn (Swiftwater, PA/Pocono Mountain East HS) is tied for 66th in the nation in assists per contest at 4.7 with 43 assists in his first season with the Greyhounds, and Strayhorn, pictured at right, is tied for 94th in steals per game with an average of 2.2 with a total of 11 steals.

Sophomore center Blake English (Sussex, NJ/Vernon Township HS) is 27th in the nation in blocked shots per game with an average of 2.3.  English, pictured at left, has blocked 22 shots this year.

The Greyhounds are currently tied for 42nd in the nation in steals per game with an average of 10.2 per contest as the squad has 97 steals this season.

Moravian is 5-5 overall and will return to action on Saturday, January 8th it returns to Landmark Conference action versus The United States Merchant Marine Academy in Johnston Hall at 5:30 p.m.
