THREE MORAVIAN MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS RANKED IN NCAA STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Three student-athletes from the Moravian College men’s basketball team are ranked in the third NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Statistics Ranking of the 2010-11 season through games of January 9th, and the Greyhounds are ranked in one team category.

Sophomore guard D.J. Strayhorn (Swiftwater, PA/Pocono Mountain East HS) is tied for 51st in the nation in assists per contest at 5.1 with 74 assists in his first season with the Greyhounds, and Strayhorn, pictured at right, is also tied for 56th in free throw percentage at 86.0 percent, making 49-of-57 free throw attempts.

Sophomore center Blake English (Sussex, NJ/Vernon Township HS) is tied for 17th in the nation in blocked shots per game with an average of 2.5.  English, pictured at left, has blocked 34 shots this year.

Senior forward Chris Cullen (East Islip, NY/East Islip HS) is tied for 99th in the country in rebounds with an average of 8.3 rebounds per contest.  Cullen, pictured at right, has 118 rebounds this season.

The Greyhounds are currently 38th in the country in free throw percentage at 74.1 percent, making 199-of-266 free throw attempts.

Moravian is 7-7 overall and 2-1 in Landmark Conference action, and the Greyhounds will return to action on Friday, January 14th in a Landmark Conference game versus Susquehanna University in Johnston Hall at 5:30 p.m.
