MORAVIAN’S AMY HEFFNER NAMED TO D3HOOPS.COM TEAM OF THE WEEK PRESENTED BY SCOUTWARE

MINNEAPOLIS, MN --- Senior forward Amy Heffner (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland HS) of the Moravian College women’s basketball team has been named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week Presented by Scoutware for her performance last week.

Heffner helped Moravian to a 2-0 mark last week in Landmark Conference action for the Greyhounds.  Heffner had a monster weekend, averaging 28.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game, and was named both the Landmark Conference Player of the week and the ECAC Division III South Player of the Week for the second time this season. 

Heffner, who was on the first D3hoops.com Team of the Week Present by Scoutware for the 2010-11 season back in November, had 23 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Susquehanna University Friday evening, and then she had a career high 34 points and 12 rebounds in a victory versus Juniata College Saturday afternoon for her sixth double-double of the year.  Heffner was 19-for-35 from the floor (54.3 percent), seven-of-14 behind the three-point line and 12-of-16 at the foul line (75 percent).  She played 66 minutes in the two games with four steals and two blocked shots.

Moravian, which is 9-7 overall and 4-1 in Landmark Conference action, is scheduled to return to action on Friday, January 21st in a Landmark Conference game at Goucher College tipping off at 7:30 p.m. in Towson, Maryland.
