THREE MORAVIAN MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS RANKED IN NCAA STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Three student-athletes from the Moravian College men’s basketball team are ranked in the fourth NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Statistics Ranking of the 2010-11 season through games of January 16th, and the Greyhounds are ranked in one team category.

Sophomore guard D.J. Strayhorn (Swiftwater, PA/Pocono Mountain East HS) is 33rd in the nation in assists per contest at 5.4 with 87 assists in his first season with the Greyhounds, and Strayhorn, pictured at right, is 59th in free throw percentage at 85.2 percent, making 52-of-61 free throw attempts and tied for 74th in steals per game at 2.4 with 36 steals this winter.

Sophomore center Blake English (Sussex, NJ/Vernon Township HS) is tied for 22nd in the nation in blocked shots per game with an average of 2.5.  English, pictured at left, has blocked 34 shots this year after missing the last two games due to an injury.

Senior forward Chris Cullen (East Islip, NY/East Islip HS) is tied for 83rd in the country in rebounds with an average of 8.5 rebounds per contest.  Cullen, pictured at bottom right, has 136 rebounds this season.

The Greyhounds are currently 47th in the country in free throw percentage at 73.4 percent, making 221-of-301 free throw

Moravian is 8-8 overall and 2-3 in Landmark Conference action, and the Greyhounds will return to action on Friday, January 21st in a Landmark Conference game at Goucher College in Towson, Maryland with tip-off at 5:30 p.m.
