MORAVIAN’S MICAH LEONARD HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MADISON, N.J. --- Sophomore jumper/sprinter Micah Leonard (York, PA/William Penn HS) of the Moravian College women’s track & field team has been honored as the Landmark Conference Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Leonard, who also won the honor back on December 6th, won a pair of events at the Thomson Invitational hosted by The University of Delaware.  Leonard captured the long jump in an ECAC qualifying distance of 5.26 meters (17 feet, 3 1/4 inches) and winning the triple jump with an ECAC qualifying mark of 11.06 meters (36 feet, 3 1/2 inches).  Leonard was 13th in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 10.50 seconds.  The Greyhound women placed third of 15 teams in the DII/DIII scoring at the meet.

Moravian’s track & field teams will return to action on Saturday, February 5th when they travel to Massachusetts Institute of Technology for a quad match with Williams College and the United States Coast Guard Academy.
