TWO MORAVIAN MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS RANKED IN NCAA STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Two student-athletes from the Moravian College men’s basketball team are ranked in the seventh NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Statistics Ranking of the 2010-11 season through games of February 6th.

Sophomore guard D.J. Strayhorn (Swiftwater, PA/Pocono Mountain East HS) is 52nd in the nation in assists per contest at 5.0 with 109 assists in his first season with the Greyhounds, and Strayhorn, pictured at right, is 91st in the country in steals with an average of 2.1 with 47 steals in 22 games.  Strayhorn’s 109 assists mark the first time a Moravian player has surpassed 100 assists in a season since the 2003-04 season.

Sophomore center Blake English (Sussex, NJ/Vernon Township HS) is 25th in the nation in blocked shots per game with an average of 2.4.  English, pictured at left, has blocked 48 shots this year despite missing two games due to an injury.

Moravian is 9-13 overall and 3-8 in Landmark Conference action, and the Greyhounds will return to action on Friday, February 11th in a Landmark Conference game at Juniata College with tip-off at 7:30 p.m. in Huntingdon.
