MORAVIAN’S MICAH LEONARD HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MADISON, N.J. --- Sophomore jumper/sprinter Micah Leonard (York, PA/William Penn HS) of the Moravian College women’s track & field team has been honored as the Landmark Conference Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for her performances last week.

Leonard, who earns the award for the third time this season, won the triple jump at the Lafayette College-Rider University Winter Games at the NYC Armory Friday evening with an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying distance of 11.39 meters (37 feet, 4 1/2 inches), and she captured the long jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of 5.45 meters (17 feet, 10 3/4 inches), just a quarter-of-an-inch shy of the NCAA qualifying mark.

On Sunday at the Susquehanna University Indoor Invitational, Leonard was part of Moravian's winning 4x200-meter relay squad in an ECAC qualifying time of 1:50.23, and she was third in the preliminaries of the 55-meter hurdles in 9.43 seconds and tenth in the prelims of the 55-meter dash in 7.91 seconds.

Moravian’s track & field teams will return to action on Saturday, February 19th when they travel to Susquehanna University Indoor Open in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
