TWO MORAVIAN MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS RANKED IN NCAA STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Two student-athletes from the Moravian College men’s basketball team are ranked in the eighth NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Statistics Ranking of the 2010-11 season through games of February 13th.

Sophomore guard D.J. Strayhorn (Swiftwater, PA/Pocono Mountain East HS) is 47th in the nation in assists per contest at 5.1 with 122 assists in his first season with the Greyhounds, and Strayhorn, pictured at right, is 70th in the country in steals with an average of 2.2 with 53 steals in 24 games.  Strayhorn’s 122 assists mark the first time a Moravian player has surpassed 100 assists in a season since the 2003-04 season.

Sophomore center Blake English (Sussex, NJ/Vernon Township HS) is 28th in the nation in blocked shots per game with an average of 2.3.  English, pictured at left, has blocked 51 shots this year despite missing two games due to an injury.

Moravian is 9-15 overall and 3-10 in Landmark Conference action, and the Greyhounds will close out their 2010-11 season with a Landmark Conference game at The University of Scranton on Saturday, February 19th at 4:00 p.m.
