DULL RESIGNS DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS POSITION AT MORAVIAN
BETHLEHEM, PA --- Moravian College has announced that Director of Athletics Richard M.
Dull has resigned his position at the college effective June 25th to become
the Director of Athletics at NCAA Division I California State University Northridge on
July 1st.
"We have accepted Dick Dulls resignation with regret, but we fully understand
what an exciting opportunity awaits him at Cal State - Northridge," said Dr. Bettie
Smolansky, interim academic dean of the faculty. "I have enjoyed working with him
at Moravian and I wish him every success in his new position. The College is currently
exploring various options for filling the athletic director position."
Dull became Moravians first-ever full-time director of athletics on May 18, 1998
after serving for three years as director of athletics at NCAA Division II University of
Nebraska-Kearney. Dull last served as director of athletics on the NCAA Division I level
in the 1980s when has was director of athletics at the University of Maryland from August
1981 to October 1986.
While at Moravian, Dull began seeking corporate sponsorships for the athletics department
to raise money for Moravians 16 intercollegiate sports. He also worked on the committees
for the Moravian College Golf Classic and the Moravian College Hall of Fame.
