RHINEHART NAMED MAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ANNVILLE, PA --- Senior linebacker J.D. Rhinehart (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills Regional HS) of the Moravian College football team has been named the Middle Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance this past Saturday.

Rhinehart led the Greyhound defense, which held Wilkes University scoreless in overtime, with 12 tackles, nine of them solo, five tackles for loss, three sacks and one pass break-up.

Moravian won the game in overtime, 28-22, to improve its record to 2-7 on the year. The ‘Hounds have played overtime three times this season with a 2-1 record and the team has played seven overtime games since the NCAA instituted the rule in 1996 with a 5-2 record.

The Greyhounds close out the 1999 season at Muhlenberg College this weekend.
