POCHRON NAMED TO COMMONWEALTH ALL-STAR 2nd TEAM

ANNVILLE, PA --- Junior outfielder and pitcher Joe Pochron (Allentown/Salisbury HS) has been named to the 2000 Commonwealth Conference All-Star Second Team announced by the Middle Atlantic Corporation Thursday.

Pochron, who was a member of the 1999 Commonwealth All-Star First Team, led the Greyhounds to a 14-20 record this season with a team leading .364 batting average. For the second consecutive year, Pochron led the Greyhounds in hits with 39. A year ago, Pochron tied the single season record with 41 hits and he has 91 hits in his career.

Pochron also led the Greyhounds this year with 33 RBIs, 107 at-bats, 66 total bases and 16 extra-base hits including nine doubles, three triples and four homeruns. Moravian set the school record for homeruns by a team with 21 round-trippers this spring.

On the mound, Pochron posted a 5.05 ERA with two complete games but was 0-6 with three losses by one run. He led the pitching staff with 35 strikeouts in 41 innings however, Pochron also tied the school mark for walks allowed with 34.
