WHALEN, GREYHOUNDS RANKED IN NCAA BASKETBALL STATS

BETHLEHEM, PA --- Senior guard Rich Whalen (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick HS) of the Moravian College men’s basketball team is ranked in the latest NCAA Division III national statistics released Thursday.

Whalen entered play this week ranked eighth in the nation at 3.5 steals per game. The Greyhounds as a team entered the week ranked 10th nationally in free throw percentage at .748 percent. Whalen leads Moravian and the MAC Commonwealth Conference with a free throw percentage of .879 percent.

Moravian currently has a 10-13 overall record and a 6-7 record in the MAC Commonwealth Conference after winning its last two games. The Greyhounds complete the 1999-2000 regular season on Saturday, February 19th at Messiah College in a 4:00 p.m. If Moravian wins the game, and Susquehanna University losses to Albright College Saturday night, the Greyhounds will qualify for the Middle Atlantic Conference playoffs for the first time since the 1996-97 season.
