Greyhound Weekly Update, April 3, 2006 (-2222-)

 

Softball – 19-3 Commonwealth Conference 6-0, MASCAC 8-0)

                Moravian played its first home game of the 2006 season, defeating Wilkes University in the first game of a non-conference doubleheader, 4-2, at Blue & Grey Field. The Colonels jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Moravian would respond with three runs in the bottom of the second inning. With one out, junior first baseman Lauren Homa (Chalfont, PA?Central Bucks West HS) reached on an error. After double by sophomore third baseman Kelly Santry (Hatboro, PA/Upper Moreland HS), Homa would score on a Wilkes throwing error to the plate on a ball hit by junior catcher Danielle Carrione (Bloomfield, NJ/Mt. St. Dominic HS). Santry tied the game when she crossed the plate on a wild pitch. Carrione ended up being thrown out at the plate on a bases loaded fielder's choice by freshman shortstop Jordan Oplinger (Allentown, PA/Parkland HS); however, sophomore second baseman Beth Paly (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall HS) followed with an RBI single to score sophomore outfielder Megan Ritchey (Boyertown, PA/Boyertown HS) to give the Greyhounds a 3-2 lead. Moravian scored its final run in the bottom of the third inning. Junior outfielder Justina Black (Orefield, PA/Parkland HS) led off the inning with a double off the new six-foot fence at Moravian but ended up being forced out at the plate on a bases loaded fielder's choice by Santry. Senior pitcher Meagan Hennessy (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township HS), who had come in to pinch run for senior designated player Richelle McWilliams (Riegelsville, PA/Easton HS), scored on an RBI single by Carrione. Moravian would leave the bases loaded and a total of eight runners on in the game. The Greyhounds had nine hits with two by Carrione. Hennessy improved to 9-1 in the circle, allowing two runs, just one earned, on five hits and two walks in seven innings. Hennessy struck out 11 batters in the win, her 24th career double-digit strikeout game. She also moved past the 700 mark in career strikeouts, now with 708 in her career.

 

                The Greyhounds swept their fifth straight doubleheader, defeating Wilkes, 8-0 in five innings, in the second game of a non-conference doubleheader. Moravian scored all eight of its runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Freshman first baseman Sheri Bienick (Lumberton, NJ/Rancocas Valley HS) led off the inning with a single and moved to third when Carrione reached on a Wilkes error. Oplinger would drive in Bienick with an RBI single before another Colonel error allowed Carrione and Oplinger to score. McWilliams followed with an RBI single to score Paly while Black would cross the plate on an RBI single by Homa. Carrione would come back to the plate and hit an RBI single and an error in the outfield allowed Santry and Homa to score. Freshman outfielder Erica Klepeisz (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth HS) drove in the final run with an RBI single that pushed Bienick across the plate for the second time in the inning. Moravian finished the game with 14 hits, including two each by Klepeisz, Black, Homa, Bienick and Carrione. Freshman pitcher Kristie Pellicani (Sparta, NJ/Sparta HS) earned her fifth win of the season in the circle for the Greyhounds, allowing four hits and a walk while striking out seven batters.

 

                Moravian opened a non-conference doubleheader against rival Muhlenberg College with a 4-0 victory. Hennessy tossed her sixth shutout of the season, allowing just two hits in the victory. Hennessy struck out eight batters to raise her career total to 716. The Greyhounds would give Hennessy all of the offense she would need with four runs in the third inning. Klepeisz led off the inning with an infield single and moved to third base on a Mule error when Oplinger laid down a sacrifice bunt. Paly followed with an RBI single. After an out, McWilliams had an RBI single to score Oplinger. Hennessy would enter the game to run for McWilliams. Homa then hit an RBI to score Paly while Hennessy would score on an RBI single by Santry. The Greyhounds had 12 hits in the game three by Santry and two each from Klepeisz and Homa; however, the Greyhounds left ten runners on base.

 

                The Greyhounds swept their sixth straight doubleheader with a 3-2 win over Muhlenberg in non-conference action. Moravian jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning when Bienick walked with two outs and scored on an RBI double by McWilliams. The Mules would tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the third inning. Muhlenberg would take a 2-1 lead the next inning when another unearned run scored in the bottom of the fourth inning. Moravian would retake the lead with two runs in the top of the sixth inning with Pellicani and Ritchey both scoring unearned runs on an error by the Mules. Moravian had just seven hits in the game with three by McWilliams and two by Paly. Pellicani earned her sixth win of the season in the circle, allowing two unearned runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings. Pellicani did record four strikeouts in the game. Hennessy came into pitch the final 2/3 of an innings, striking out both batters for her second save of the season and the eighth save of her career.

 

                Moravian needed a pair of extra innings to extend its winning streak to 13 straight games with a 1-0, nine-inning victory over Susquehanna University in the first game of a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader. The Greyhounds scored the only run of the game with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning. Oplinger reached on a Susquehanna error to lead off the inning, and Oplinger moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Paly. Black followed with an RBI single to score Oplinger and end the game. Moravian had just two hits in the game with the other being a single by Homa in the third inning. The Crusaders only had three hits in the pitchers duel. Hennessy improved 11-1 in the circle with her seven shutout of the season as she allowed three hits and four walks.

 

                The Greyhounds extended their winning streak to 14 straight games and swept their seventh consecutive doubleheader with a 2-0 victory over Susquehanna in conference. Hennessy earned her second shutout of the doubleheader, allowing just five hits and a walk while striking out nine. Hennessy is now eighth all-time in NCAA Division III history with 742 career strikeouts, tied for 11th in career wins with 79 and fourth in shutouts with 45. Hennessy also moved into 19th all-time with 686.0 innings pitched. The win was Hennessy's 12th of the season, and it was also her eighth shutout of the year. Hennessy would get all the offense she would need in the bottom of the fourth inning. Paly led off the inning with a single and would score on a two-out, RBI single by Homa. Moravian would add a run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Bienick led off with a double and Ritchey came in to pinch run. Ritchey would score on a two-out, RBI single by Oplinger. The Greyhounds had just six hits in the game with two off the bat of Paly.

Men’s Tennis – 2-6 (Commonwealth Conference 1-1, MASCAC 2-4)

            Moravian lost its 2006 Commonwealth Conference opening match, falling to Messiah College, 7-0. The closest the Greyhounds were to winning a contest in the match was at second doubles as junior Scott Shelbo (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom HS) and freshman Lee Gustin (Allentown, PA/Dieruff HS) forced a tiebreaker before falling 9-8 (7-4).

 

            The Greyhounds evened their Commonwealth Conference record at 1-1 for the season with a 7-0 victory over Susquehanna University at Hoffman Courts. Moravian started the match by earning the doubles point for wins in all three doubles contests. Seniors Neil Caniga (Hampton, NJ/Voorhees HS) and Sean Lynch (West Chester, PA/Henderson HS) won at first doubles, Shelbo and Gustin earned the victory at second doubles while freshmen Keith Feinman (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield HS) and Jeremiah Reinhart (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley HS) won at third doubles. The Greyhounds swept all six singles matches with Caniga, Shelbo, Lynch, Gustin and Reinhart winning in straight sets and Feinman earning a three-set victory.

 

 

 

Men’s Lacrosse – 1-7 (MASCAC 0-4)

            The Greyhounds fell to FDU-Florham, 12-5, in Middle Atlantic Conference action. The Devils led 2-0 after the first quarter and 6-2 at halftime. FDU-Florham would extend its lead to 9-3 after three quarters. The Devils finished the match with a 34-15 advantage in shots and a 24-15 edge in ground balls. Moravian did win 11 of 19 face-offs in the match. Junior midfielder TJ Hirsch (Putnum Valley, NJ/Walter Panas HS) paced the Greyhounds with three goals while freshmen midfielders Kyle Gardner (Emmaus, PA/Perkiomen Prep HS) and Brian Cleaver (Allentown, PA/Parkland HS) each found the back of the net once. Junior midfielder Ken Blom (Rochelle Park, NJ/Bergen Catholic HS) and freshman attack Jason Tosches (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South HS) each added assists for Moravian. Hirsch won seven of 12 face-offs in the match, and he added a team high four ground balls as did sophomore midfielder Aaron Satterfield (Mt. Arlington, NJ/Pope John XXIII HS). Freshman goalie Benjamin Larson (Dover, DE/Dover HS) made nine saves in just over 51 minutes of action while sophomore keeper Peter Courtos (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks West HS) had three saves in the final nine minutes of the match for the Greyhounds.

 

            Moravian played its first match of the season on campus and it’s first-ever contest on the HUB Quad, falling to the University of Scranton, 10-7, in a Middle Atlantic Conference match. The Greyhounds scored the first goal of the contest; however, the Royals netted the next three and led 4-2 after one quarter. Scranton scored the only goal of the second quarter with less than 30 seconds remaining in the half to head to the intermission with a 5-2 lead. Both teams scored two goals in the third quarter and three goals in the fourth quarter. Moravian finished the game with a 35-32 edge in shots and a 34-28 advantage in ground balls while Scranton won 15 of 22 face-offs. Blom led the Greyhounds with three goals and an assist while Hirsch had two goals and an assist. Tosches scored Moravian's other two goals while Satterfield and freshman midfielder Bradley McVaugh (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge HS) each had assists. Sophomore defender Adam Melroy (Newton, NJ/Pope John XXIII HS) and freshman defender James Messler (Allentown, PA/Parkland HS) each had a team high five ground balls while Blom led Moravian in face-offs, winning four of nine. Larson had nine saves, three ground balls and one shot.

                Moravian dropped a 28-3 decision to NCAA Division I Lehigh University in non-conference action. The Mountain Hawks jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and added two more runs in the bottom of the second for a 7-0 lead. The Greyhounds would break into the scoring column in the top of the third inning on a two-out RBI single by sophomore second baseman John Bisco (Easton, PA/Notre Dame HS) that pushed junior catcher Colin Welles (Belvidere, NJ/Belvidere HS) across the plate. Welles had led off the inning with an infield single. Lehigh would score twice more in the bottom of the third to extend the lead to 9-1. Moravian scored again in the top of the fourth inning when senior outfielder/first baseman Richie Cline (Union Beach, NJ/Keyport HS), junior shortstop Pete Moore (Bogota, NJ/Bogota HS) and freshman third baseman Matthew McCarthy (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic HS) drew walks to load the bases with no outs. Cline would score on a wild pitch to cut the Mountain Hawk lead to 9-2. Lehigh responded with three runs in the bottom of the fourth to push the lead to 12-2. The Mountain Hawks scored 16 runs over the next four innings to build a 28-2 lead. Lehigh had eight runs in the fifth inning, one in the sixth and seven more in the eighth. The seventh inning was the only one that Lehigh didn't score in during the game. Moravian finished off the scoring in the top of the ninth inning. Sophomore outfielder Josh Baltz (Easton, PA/Easton HS) was credited with an RBI on a fielder's choice that allowed freshman second baseman Thomas Murray (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic HS) to score. Murray singled to lead off the inning in his first collegiate at-bat. The Greyhounds finished the game with six hits including two by Bisco. Senior John Howarth (Livingston, NJ/Livingston HS) suffered the loss on the mound for Moravian, allowing seven runs, six of them earned, on five hits and two walks with one strikeout in two innings of action. Junior Josh Hunter (Palmerton, PA/Palmerton HS) also pitched two innings for Moravian, giving up five runs, four of them earned, on six hits and two walks. Cline and Moore each tossed on inning while freshman Mark Maglione (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan HS) pitched two innings, allowing just one run on two hits and striking out two batters.

 

                The Greyhounds lost the first game of a non-conference doubleheader at the University of Scranton, 8-1. The game started about 45 minutes late due to rain before the first pitch. The Royals took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning and doubled it to 4-0 in the bottom of the fifth. Scranton added four more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for an 8-0 lead. Moravian scored its lone run of the game in the top of the seventh inning. McCarthy reached on an error to lead off the inning before Moore singled. After a ground out forced McCarthy out at third base, freshman shortstop Kevin Gambrino (Brick, NJ/Monsignor Donovan HS) and sophomore outfielder Josh Baltz drew walks to push Moore across the plate. The Greyhounds had five hits in the game with two off the bat of Baltz. Moravian sophomore Trevor Lawrence (Lansford, PA/Upper Moreland HS) suffered the loss on the mound for Moravian, allowing eight runs, just two of them earned, on nine hits and three walks while striking out four batters.

 

                Moravian snapped a ten-game losing streak with a 10-7 win over the University of Scranton in the second game of a non-conference doubleheader. The Greyhounds jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a one-out, two-RBI single by McCarthy that scored Baltz and Bisco. Scranton responded and took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Moravian would tie the game at 4-4 with a pair of runs in the top of the third inning. Baltz would score on a Scranton error while McCarthy hit an RBI ground out to push Bisco across the plate. The Greyhounds pushed six runs home in the top of the fourth inning for a 10-4 lead. Sophomore outfielder Brett Stout (Easton, PA/Easton HS) hit a two-RBI double to score freshman catcher Thomas Czarnecki (Columbia, NJ/North Warren HS) and Gambrino. Freshman designated hitter Joseph Durso (Middletown, NJ/Christian Brother Academy HS) would drive in Stout with a two-run, home run, Durso's first collegiate homer. The Greyhounds picked up two more runs in the inning when Cline and McCarthy each scored on errors. Scranton would score once in the bottom of the sixth inning and twice in the seventh to pull within, 10-7, but the Greyhounds were able to earn the victory with the tying run at the plate. Moravian had ten hits in the game including three by McCarthy and two by Czarnecki. Sophomore pitcher Matthew Swartz (Dunmore, PA/Dunmore HS) earned hits first victory of the season on the mound for the Greyhounds, allowing four unearned runs on five hits with two strikeouts in five innings. Sophomore Brandon Cohn (Newtown Square, PA/The Shipley School) worked two innings for the save, allowing three unearned runs on three hits and three walks.

 

                The Greyhounds dropped a 7-3 decision to Alvernia College in a non-conference game at Gillespie Field. The Crusaders jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Alvernia extended its lead to 3-0 with a pair of runs in the top of the third inning. Moravian would tie the game in the bottom half of the third inning, scoring three runs. Gambrino led off the inning by reaching on an Alvernia throwing error. Baltz followed with an RBI single to centerfield to score Gambrino. After an out, Durso tripled down the left field line to score Baltz, and Durso would score on a throwing error on the relay to the plate as the ball sailed out of play. The Crusaders would retake the lead in the top of the fifth inning on a back-to-back solo home runs. Alvernia extended its lead to 7-3 with two runs in the top of the seventh inning. Moravian had a total of eight hits in the game with three by Baltz. On the mound for Moravian, Maglione started on the mound, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks in three innings of action. Hunter ended up with the loss, giving up two runs on three hits while striking out four in two innings of action. Stout also tossed two innings, allowing two runs on five hits with two strikeouts. Bisco finished off the game for the Greyhounds, allowing two hits and a walk with two strikeouts in two innings of action.

Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – 0-0 (Commonwealth Conference 0-0, MASCAC 0-0)

This Week – Fri. & Sat., Apr. 7th & 8th at Princeton University Invitational, Princeton, NJ

 

            The Greyhounds placed fifth of six schools at the Rider University-Lafayette College 6-Way meet at Rider with a team score of 20.50 points. Lafayette had the top team score at 98.50. Moravian was the only NCAA Division III school at the meet and had one first place finish with junior Erin Recker (Catasauqua, PA/Catasauqua HS) winning the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.35 seconds. Recker also placed third in the 200-meter dash in 2.84 seconds.

 

            In other sprint race results, junior Kathleen McCarron (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth HS) was fourth in the 100-meter dash in 13.20 seconds while junior Suzanne Tamlyn (Wappingers Falls, NY/Wallkill HS) took fifth in a time of 13.21 seconds. Freshman Rachelle Elneus (Easton, PA/Notre Dame HS) saw her first action of the season in the 100-meter dash and placed ninth in 13.49 seconds while freshman Katrina Birle (Westwood, MA/Westwood HS) was 12th in a time of 13.81 seconds. Tamlyn took ninth in the 200-meter dash in 27.36 seconds, and she was also ninth in the 400-meter dash in 1:02.70. Elneus finished 15th in the 200-meter dash in 28.84 seconds while Birle was 16th in 29.84 seconds. Junior Amy Reehill (Roselle, NJ/Roselle Catholic HS) placed fifth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:09.64. The Greyhounds 4x100-meter relay squad was second of McCarron, Recker, Tamlyn and Elneus in a time of 49.63 seconds.

 

            In the distance events, freshman Stephanie Miller (Easton, PA/Easton HS) placed seventh in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:12.24. Senior Alexis Vergalla (Glen Gardner, NJ/Voorhees HS) led three Moravian runners in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 12:21.10, which placed her fifth. Freshman Naomie Kachel (Shillington, PA/Governor Mifflin HS) was sixth in 12:49.12 while junior Jennifer Connolly (Weare, NH/Manchester West HS) took eighth in a time of 13:34.63.

 

            Junior Kelly Applegate (Easton, PA/Easton HS) took fourth in the javelin with a toss of 33.04 meters (108 feet, five inches), and she was fifth in the shot put with a distance of 12.01 meters (39 feet, five inches). Classmate Tammy Balliet (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall HS) was sixth in the hammer throw with a toss of 36.96 meters (121 feet, 3 1/2 inches), and she was ninth in the shot put at 10.43 meters (34 feet, 2 3/4 inches). McCarron placed eighth in the long jump with a leap of 4.68 meters (15 feet, 4 1/4 inches).

 

 

 

Women’s Lacrosse – 0-6 (MASCAC 0-3)

            The Greyhounds dropped a 20-4 decision to Messiah College in a Middle Atlantic Conference match on the HUB Quad. The Falcons had a 26-18 advantage in shots and a 37-28 edge in ground balls while Moravian had a 14-12 edge in draw controls. Greyhound senior midfielder Jessica Cordani (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant Boro HS) scored three goals while sophomore attack Casey Simpson scored Moravian's other goal. Junior midfielder Lindsey Lustrino (Spring Lake, NJ/Manasquan HS) had an assist while senior defender Lauren Johnston (Huntingdon Valley, PA/Upper Moreland HS) had a team high six ground balls. Lustrino and sophomore defender Mauri Dallago (Kutztown, PA/Kutztown HS) each had three draw controls while senior defender Kristin Schol (West Chester, PA/Henderson HS) and senior midfielder Kindal Estes (New Providence, NJ/New Providence HS) had four ground balls each. Moravian sophomore goalie Laura Schantz (Bethlehe, PA/Liberty HS) made eight saves in the match.

            Moravian participated in the Rider University-Lafayette College 6-Way Meet and placed third of the six teams with a score of 52.50 points while co-host Rider won with 90 points. Moravian was the only NCAA Division III school in the meet. The Greyhounds had three individual event winners with sophomore Ozzie Brown (Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth Whitemarsh HS) winning the 200-meter dash in 22.14 seconds, sophomore Nathaniel Tussey (Perkiomenville, PA/Boyertown HS) capturing the 400-meter hurdles in 55.41 seconds and senior Michael El Kazzaz (Easton, PA/Easton HS) winning the pole vault with a top height of 4.42 meters (14 feet, six inches). Brown also placed second in the long jump with a leap of 6.61 meters (21 feet, 8 1/4 inches), and he was third in the 100-meter dash in 11.29 seconds. Tussey finished second in he 110-meter high hurdles in a time of 14.94 seconds, and he was ninth in the 100-meter dash in 11.78 seconds.

 

            Also in the 100-meter dash, freshman Robert Shaffer (Pottstown, PA/Pottstown HS) placed fourth in 11.39 seconds while sophomore James Bell (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin HS) was fifth in 11.51 seconds. Shaffer also finished fifth in the 200-meter dash at 22.99 seconds while Bell was sixth in a time of 23.08 seconds. Junior Josh Kline (Reading, PA/Exeter HS) took fifth in the 400-meter dash in 51.29 seconds, and he was ninth in the 200-meter dash in 23.22 seconds. Moravian's 4x100-meter relay squad of Bell, Brown, Shaffer and Kline placed second in a time of 42.76 seconds.

 

            Senior Greg Rarick (Drums, PA/Hazleton HS) placed 21st in the 1,500-meter run in 4:21.57, and he was 25th in the 800 meters in a time of 2:10.15. Freshman Timothy Murphy (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic HS) placed 24th in the 1,500 meters at 4:36.92. Freshman Jeff Berland (Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock HS) placed eighth in the 110-meter high hurdles in a time of 16.34 seconds while freshman Jared Henrie (Pennington, NJ/Hopewell Valley HS) was eighth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:03.27. Freshman Stephen Mulchay (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall HS) took ninth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:04.26.

 

            In addition to El Kazzaz in the pole vault, freshman Alan Woods (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cedar Cliff HS) placed third at a height of 3.96 meters (13 feet) while sophomore Allan Fatzinger (Catasauqua, PA/Catasauqua HS) was fourth, clearing 3.65 meters (12 feet) in his first action of the year.

 

            In the throwing events, sophomore Nathaniel Dutile (Plymouth, ME/Nokomis HS) placed third in the shot put with a toss of 14.86 meters (48 feet, nine inches) while freshman Blair Maginnis (Asbury, NJ/Warren Hills Regional HS) was fourth at 13.37 meters (43 feet, 10 1/2 inches). Berland 11th in the shot put with a distance of 9.85 meters (32 feet, 3 3/4 inches). Dutile also finished fourth in the discus with a toss of 40.99 meters (134 feet, six inches) while junior Steve Kondorossy (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery HS) placed fifth at 37.33 meters (122 feet, six inches). Senior Robert Kilmurray (Wall, NJ/Wall HS) was ninth in the discus with a toss of 30.45 meters (99 feet, 11 inches) while sophomore Robert Bernadyn (Mahanoy City, PA/Mahanoy Area HS) took tenth at 29.24 meters (95 feet, 11 1/2 inches) and Berland was 11th at 26.65 meters (87 feet, 5 1/2 inches). Kondorossy was Moravian's top finisher in the hammer throw with a distance of 38.99 meters (127 feet, 11 1/4 inches) while junior Patrick Callahan (Matawan, NJ/Matawan HS) was eighth at 33.69 meters (110 feet, 6 3/4 inches). Bernadyn placed ninth at 32.15 meters (105 feet, six inches) while Maginnis was tenth at 32.02 meters (105 feet, one inch). Freshman Justin Starcher (Greentown, PA/Wallenpaupack HS) placed fourth in the javelin with a throw of 47.98 meters (157 feet, 5 1/4 inches) while junior Michael Ossont (Arshbald, PA/Valley View HS) placed sixth at 47.18 meters (154 feet, 9 3/4 inches).

This Week – Mon., Apr. 3rd at Lebanon Valley College Spring Invitational at Lebanon Country Club, 12:30 p.m.; Fri., Apr. 7th hosts Annual Moravian College Spring Invitational at Southmoore Golf Course, Bath, PA, 12:30 p.m.

 

            Moravian began the 2006 spring portion of its schedule with a first place finish at the York (PA) College Spring Invitational. The Greyhounds posted a team score of 300 to place three strokes ahead of second place Keystone College and first of the eight schools at the invitational. Moravian junior Brian Bergstol (Mt. Bethel, PA/Bangor HS) earned medalist honors with a four-under round of 68 on the par 72 course at the Outdoor Country Club. Sophomore Eric Whitman (Blairstown, NJ/Notre Dame East Stroudsburg {PA} HS) placed second with an even-par round of 72 while senior Dustin McCormick (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg HS) was tied for 13th of the 39 golfers with an 18-hole total of 78. Rounding out the Greyhound line-up were junior John Gilbert (Allentown, PA/Freedom HS) in a tie for 25th with a round of 82 and sophomore Bryan Ott (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall HS) in 35th place with an 89.
