Saturday. Moravian has a record of 3-2
after the first half of the season and is scheduled to return to action on

The Greyhounds extended their winning streak to nine
consecutive matches with a 30-18, 30-3, 31-29 victory at Widener University
in Commonwealth Conference action. Junior outside hitter Kelly Bauer (Hellertown, PA/Notre Dame HS) led Moravian with 12
kills and 12 digs while sophomore outside hitter Rachel Radocha (Whitehall, PA/ Whitehall HS) added 11 kills, 12
digs and two service aces. Senior middle hitter Lindsey Siracusa (Yardley, PA/ Pennsbury HS) had seven kills and
three blocks in the victory while junior setter Valerie Korsak (Coplay, PA/ Whitehall HS) contributed
35 assists, nine digs, four blocks, four kills and two service aces. Sophomore
middle hitter Jenna Wallace (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic HS) had six kills for the
Greyhounds while junior libero Ashley
Hugo (Bath, PA/Northampton HS) added
seven digs in the victory.
Moravian improved its winning streak to ten straight
matches with a 30-18, 30-25, 27-30, 30-15 victory at York College of
Pennsylvania in non-conference action. Siracusa
paced the Greyhounds with 13 kills, two service aces and two blocks while Bauer added 12 kills, 12 digs and five
service aces. Korsak
contributed 36 assists, 11 kills and ten digs while Radocha had ten kills and 11 digs for the Greyhounds, who won their
18th match of the season. Wallace
added six kills while junior outside hitter Jodie Elstner (Center
Valley, PA/Southern
Lehigh HS) had five kills in her first career start at
Moravian. Sophomore defensive specialist Christa
Burke (Center Valley, PA/Southern
Lehigh HS) contributed eight digs while freshman setter Elisa Molchany (North Catasauqua, PA/Catasauqua HS) had five digs and
four service aces in the victory.

The Greyhounds had their four-match winning streak
snapped in a 1-0 loss at Haverford
College in a battle of
two of the top teams in the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Region. The Fords,
ranked eighth in the region this week, scored the 49th minute and held on for
the victory. Moravian, which was ranked sixth in the region this week, had its
best opportunity to score in the 51st minute when senior forward Megan Collins (Rehoboth Beach, DE/Caesar
Rodney HS) put a direct kick on goal by Haverford goalie Lindsay Festa, making her first start of the season, punched the
ball just over the crossbar to protect the 1-0 lead. The Greyhounds, whose only
two losses are to regionally ranked teams by 1-0 scores, had a 17-15 advantage
in shots and a 5-3 edge in corner kicks in the match. Freshman goalie Caitlin Corrigan (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge
HS) made six saves for Moravian.
Moravian's Commonwealth Conference match versus Elizabethtown College has been postponed until Monday,
October 10th at 3:30 p.m. due to weather and poor field conditions.

Fall Season Complete
The Greyhounds have completed the
fall portion of their schedule. Moravian will return to action during spring
break with a trip to Orlando,
Florida in early March.

Jay Invitational hosted by Johns Hopkins University

Moravian had a team score of 212 points while NCAA Division I Towson University
won the meet with a score of 45 points. Senior Lauren Bahnatka (West Chester, PA/Henderson
HS) paced the Greyhounds with a 20th place finish on the 6,000-meter course
in a time of 24:09.0. Sophomore Krystyn
Fenon (Palmerton, PA/Lehighton HS) competed for the first
time this fall for Moravian and was 37th of 162 runners in 24:43.0 while senior
Alexis Vergalla (Glen Gardner,
NJ/Voorhees HS) placed 47th in a time of 24:59.0. Sophomore

HS), who finished 107th with a time of 27:16.0, senior Ellen Hansen (Alburtis, PA/Brandywine Heights HS), who took 118th
place in a time of 28:00.0, and sophomore Catelyn Savoth (Brielle, NJ/Manasquan HS), who
placed 142nd in 30:40.0.

The Greyhounds captured their eighth straight victory
with a 7-2 win at previously-undefeated DeSales University
in non-conference action. Moravian led 3-0 after the doubles contests with
victories by the teams of freshmen MaryKate Kelly (Beach
Haven, NJ/Southern Regional HS) and Dyana Swan
(Branchburg, NJ/Somerville HS), juniors Courtney Hall (Denver, PA/Cocalico HS) and Margo Kokolus (Orefield, PA/Parkland HS) and senior Nicole Gruber (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon HS)
and sophomore Leah Bradshaw (Perkasie,
PA/Pennridge HS). The Greyhounds then won four singles matches with
straight sets victories by Kelly,
senior Katie Cooke (Milford,
PA/Delaware
Valley HS) and sophomores Brittany Popaca (Lavallette,
NJ/Point Pleasant
Beach HS) and Jennel Yelito (Tamaqua,
PA/Tamaqua HS).
Moravian earned the top seed in the upcoming Commonwealth
Conference Team Tournament with a 7-2 victory at Susquehanna University
in the team’s final conference match of the regular season. The contest was
played at the West Branch Tennis Club in South
Williamsport a day after it was regularly scheduled due to
weather. The Greyhounds, who have won nine consecutive matches, led 2-1 after
doubles with wins by the teams of Gruber
and Bradshaw and Hall and Kokolus. Moravian also won five singles matches with victories by Gruber, Cooke, Kelly, Popaca and Yelito.

Moravian finished in a tie for fifth
place among 14 schools at the Elizabethtown College Fall Blue Jay Classic
played on the Hershey Country Club East Course. The Greyhounds had a team score
of 309, tying York College of Pennsylvania, while Susquehanna University
won the tournament with a team total of 294. Sophomore Brian Scofield (Washington, NJ/Warren
Hills Regional HS)
led Moravian with a round of 75 on the par-71 course, which tied him for eighth
of the 74 competitors. Senior Dustin
McCormick (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg HS) tied for 17th with a
score of 77 while junior Brian Bergstol
(Mt. Bethel, PA/Bangor HS) carded a 78 to tie for 23rd. Junior Thad Miller (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus HS) had
a round of 79, which was tied for 29th, while sophomore Eric Whitman (Blairstown, NJ/Notre Dame East Stroudsburg HS) was
tied for 57th with an 18-hole total of 85.

Moravian had a team score of 245 points while Swarthmore College
captured first place in the meet with a score of 52 points. Junior Josh Hunter (Palmerton, PA/Palmerton
HS) led the Greyhounds with a 19th place finish among the 162 runners on
the 8,000-meter course in a time of 28:13.0. Senior William Shimer (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty HS) finished
41st with a time of 28:58.0 while sophomore Tim Pagano (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West HS)
was 81st overall in 30:21.0. Junior Anthony
Sarno (Forked River, NJ/Lacey Township HS) placed 90th for Moravian in a time
of 30:30 while freshman Jeremiah
Reinhart (Effort, PA/Pleasant
Valley HS) was 95th
in 30:44. Rounding out the competitors for the Greyhounds were freshman Tim Murphy (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem
Catholic HS) in 104th place at 31:06.0 and junior Eric Kratz (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany Hills HS) in 160th place with
a time of 39:10.0.

The Greyhounds dropped their fourth Commonwealth
Conference match of the season, falling to Widener University,
5-2, in conference action at Betty Prince Field. The Pioneers jumped out to a
2-0 lead with goals in the third and sixth minutes. Moravian would cut the lead
in half in the 19th minute when freshman forward Nicole Maugle (Quakertown,
PA/Quakertown HS) scored her third goal of
the season off a pass from sophomore forward Jayme Baker (Center Valley, PA/Southern Lehigh HS) on a penalty corner. Widener
would score twice more in the final five minutes of the first half to hold a
4-1 lead at the intermission. Moravian scored first in the second half with Maugle netting
her second goal of the match off of an assist by junior forward Elyse Jurgen (York, PA/Red Lion HS).
However, the Pioneers netted the final goal of the match in the 50th minute.
Moravian held a 24-17 advantage in shots and a 12-6 edge in penalty corners.
Junior goalie Amanda Gaun (Hatboro,
PA/Hatboro-Horsham HS) made six saves for the Greyhounds.
Moravian's Commonwealth Conference match versus
nationally-ranked Messiah
College was postponed due
to expected weather and field conditions. The match will likely be played on
either October 27th or October 29th.

The Greyhounds came from behind to tie the match in the
87th minute and force overtime in a 2-2, double-overtime tie with Alvernia College in non-conference action on the
HUB Quad. Moravian had taken a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute when junior forward Brian Tarulli
(Beer Creek, PA/James Coughlin HS) found the back of the net for his third
goal of the season off a loose ball following a centering pass by freshman
forward Louis Dollarton
(Barrington, NJ/Haddon Heights HS). Alvernia would tie the match in the
62nd minute before taking the lead in the 79th minute. The Greyhounds tied the
match with 3:42 left in regulation when sophomore forward Chris Dello Buono (Oakland, NJ/Immaculata
HS) headed in a crossing pass from sophomore midfielder Kevin McGrorry
(Avon, NJ/Red Bank Catholic HS) for his third tally of the season. Both
teams had chances in overtime and several goals were negated during the match
by offside calls for both schools. Alvernia had a 23-11 advantage in shots and
a 6-1 edge in corner kicks. Moravian senior goalie Ian Andrew Nuno (Middletown, DE/Caravel
Academy HS), making
his first start of the season, had eight saves in the match.
