Moravian
earned its first postseason appearance in five years and moved into a tie for
first place in the Landmark Conference with its fifth straight win, a 78-71
victory at Goucher College. The Greyhounds' victory, their 18th of the season, moved
the team just a win shy of tying the school record for wins in a season. The
Greyhounds jumped out to a 5-0 lead on the Gophers with a lay-up by senior
forward Chris Earley
(Brielle, NJ/Manasquan HS) and a three-point play by senior forward Mark Franzyshen
(Somerset, NJ/Immaculata HS) at the 17:15 mark. Moravian would push its
lead to 12 points, 16-4, on a three-pointer by senior guard Ryan Miller (Easton, PA/Easton HS) with
13:57 remaining in the first half. With Moravian leading 18-8, Goucher ran off
seven straight points to pull within three points, 18-15, with 11:11 to play
before the intermission. The Gophers would continue to keep the game close,
eventually tying the contest at 31-31 with 2:59 remaining in the first half.
Goucher moved ahead for the first time with a lay-up at the 2:00 mark. The
Gophers had a 35-33 lead at halftime. The Greyhounds were just nine of 23 from
