At Drew University in 2009 Landmark Conference Championship – Lost 6-3 - Box Score

            Top seed and defending champion Drew University rallied from a deficit after doubles action by winning five of six singles contests to post a 6-3 victory over visiting second seed Moravian in the 2009 Landmark Conference Championship match.
            The Rangers earned their ninth straight conference title and won their 74th consecutive match against a conference opponent. The Greyhounds complete the season with a 13-6 record, tying the school record for victories, after playing in a conference championship match for the first time in school history. Moravian's loss also snapped a three-match winning streak.
            Moravian jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the doubles action.  Sophomore Doug Morrow and freshman Nick Yelito won 8-4 at first doubles while junior Chandler Forman and sophomore Thomas Turcich earned an 8-4 win at third doubles.
            The Greyhounds only singles point came at third singles where freshman Drew Shreter became the second player in school history, and the second this season, to record 20 singles victories in a year with a straight sets win. Freshman Kevin Holze, the school record holder with 21 wins this spring, dropped a three-set match at second singles.

Vs. The University of Scranton in 2009 Landmark Conference Semifinals – Won 6-0 - Box Score

            Second seeded Moravian advanced to the 2009 Landmark Conference Championship match after defeating third seeded The University of Scranton, 6-0, in a Landmark Conference Semifinal match at Hoffman Courts.
            The Greyhounds will now play at top seed Drew University on Saturday, May 2nd at 1:00 p.m.  The Rangers defeated fourth seed Juniata College, 8-1, in the other semifinal match. 
            The victory for Moravian was its 13th of the season as the Greyhounds tied the school record for victories in a year, originally set in 1996 when the program was 13-3 and the last time Moravian had a home postseason match.
            Moravian jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the doubles action.  Sophomore Doug Morrow and freshman Nick Yelito won 9-7 at first doubles while freshmen Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter posted an 8-6 win at second doubles, their 15th win of the season to extend their new school record for a doubles team.  Junior Chandler Forman and sophomore Thomas Turcich earned a 9-8 win at third doubles with a 7-2 edge in the tiebreaker.
            The Greyhounds then won three singles matches to clinch the win with Holze and Forman finishing at the same time as Moravian hit the required five points to capture the victory.  Holze, Forman and junior Jason Bonilla all won in straight sets.  Holze’s win extended his school record total for the season to 21 victories.  Morrow had a one-set lead in his singles match when the contest ended while Shreter and Yelito trailed by a set in the matches.

Vs. Juniata College – Won 7-2 - Box Score

            Moravian posted a 7-2 Landmark Conference victory over visiting Juniata College at Hoffman Courts to earn the second seed in the 2009 Landmark Conference that begin on Tuesday April 28th.
            The Greyhounds, who moved within a win of the school record with their 12th win of the season to pull a victory shy of the 13-3 mark set in 1996, will host The University of Scranton on Tuesday at a time still to be determined.  It will be Moravian’s first home postseason appearance since that 1996 season.
            Moravian would lead 2-1 after doubles action with victories from the teams of sophomore Doug Morrow and freshman Nick Yelito at first doubles and junior Chandler Forman and sophomore Thomas Turcich at third doubles.
            Moravian won five of the six singles matches in straight sets.  Freshman Kevin Holze won at second singles to improve his school record for the season to 20 wins while freshman Drew Shreter earned a victory at third singles for his 19th win of the year.  Forman and Yelito posted wins at fourth and fifth singles while senior Keith Feinman won at sixth singles on senior day.

Vs. The University of Scranton – Won 6-3- Box Score

            Moravian improved its chances of hosting a home postseason match for the first time since 1996 as the Greyhounds defeated The University of Scranton, 6-3, in a Landmark Conference match that took two days to complete.
           The schools began play on Wednesday, April 22nd and were tied at 3-3 with three singles matches in the third set when rain forced the match to be suspended until Thursday.  Both teams have already clinched a berth in the 2009 Landmark Conference Tournament but the seeding will not be decided until after the final round of conference matches on Saturday.
           The Royals led 2-1 after the doubles matches with Moravian’s only win coming at second doubles where freshman Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter earned an 8-4 win for their school record 14th win of the season.
           In the singles matches that finished on Wednesday, sophomore Doug Morrow earned a straight sets win at first singles while junior Jason Bonilla won in two sets at sixth singles.
           When play resumed on Thursday, Holze was the first to finish, winning in three sets at second singles to put the Greyhounds up 4-3.  The win was also the 19th of the season for Holze, who moved a victory ahead of Shreter as the two players both attempt to finish the year with the school record.  Freshman Nick Yelito won clinch the Moravian victory with a three-set win at fifth singles while junior Chandler Forman added a win at fourth singles for the Greyhounds.

At Lebanon Valley College – Postponed

            Moravian had its final non-conference match of the season at Lebanon Valley College postponed due to the weather. The match has not been rescheduled at this time.

At Drew University – Lost 5-4 - Box Score

            Moravian suffered its first Landmark Conference loss of the season, falling to Drew University, 5-4, in a conference match on the road. Despite the loss, the Greyhounds still clinched a berth in the 2009 Landmark Conference Tournament with other results from around the conference.
            The Rangers swept the doubles action to jump out to a 3-0 lead. The Greyhound due of junior Ian Box and sophomore Doug Morrow dropped an 8-6 decision at first doubles, the closest of the three matches.
            In singles action, Moravian won four of six matches with freshmen Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter each breaking the previous school record for wins in a season as both players recorded their 18th wins of the year. Holze won in straight sets at third singles while Shreter posted a three-set win at fourth singles. Morrow captured a straight sets win at second singles while junior Chandler Forman won in three sets at fifth singles including a tiebreaker in the third set.

Vs. The University of Scranton – Postponed to April 22nd

            The Greyhounds' Landmark Conference match versus The University of Scranton scheduled for Wednesday, April 15th has been postponed due to the weather. The contest has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 22nd with a 4:00 p.m. start at Hoffman Courts in Bethlehem.

At Goucher College – Won 9-0 - Box Score

            Moravian remained undefeated in Landmark Conference action with its fourth win of the season by defeating Goucher College, 9-0, the team's third sweep of the conference season. The victory was also the Greyhounds' tenth of the season, the first time since 2002 Moravian has reached double digits in wins.
            The Greyhounds jumped out to a 3-0 lead by sweeping the three doubles matches with victories by sophomore Doug Morrow and junior Ian Box at first doubles, freshmen Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter at second doubles and junior Chandler Forman and sophomore Thomas Turcich at third doubles. The win by Holze and Shreter was their 13th of the season to tie the school record.
            In singles action, Moravian won all six matches in straight sets with Morrow winning at first singles. Box captured a win at second singles while Holze won at third singles for his 17th win of the season, tying the school record for a season. Shreter earned his 17th win of the season at fourth singles, also tying the Moravian single season record while Forman posted a win at fifth singles. Freshman Nick Yelito won at sixth singles for the Greyhounds.

At Wilkes University – Lost 6-3 - Box Score

            The Greyhounds had their four-match winning streak come to a close with a 6-3 loss at undefeated Wilkes University.
            The Colonels jumped out to a 3-0 lead by sweeping the three doubles matches.
            In singles action, Moravian would win three of the six contests, the most points Wilkes has allowed this season.  Junior Ian Box won in straight sets at second singles while freshman Kevin Holze earned a three-set win at third singles.  Moravian freshman Nick Yelito posted a three-set victory at sixth singles while freshman Drew Shreter dropped a three-set match at fifth singles that included tiebreakers in the first two sets in his first attempt to tie the Greyhounds’ single season record for victories.

Vs. The United States Merchant Marine Academy – Won 8-1 - Box Score

            Moravian won its fourth straight match and remained undefeated in Landmark Conference action with an 8-1 victory over the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Hoffman Courts .
            The Greyhounds led 3-0 after doubles action with wins from the teams of junior Ian Box and sophomore Doug Morrow at first doubles, junior Chandler Forman and sophomore Thomas Turcich at second doubles and junior Jason Bonilla and senior Keith Feinman at third doubles.
            Moravian won the second through sixth singles matches in straight sets with victories by Box at second singles, freshman Kevin Holze at third singles, freshman Drew Shreter at fourth singles, Forman at fifth singles and freshman Nick Yelito at sixth singles. Sherter's win moved him one away from tying the single season school record of 17 singles wins for a year.

At Susquehanna University – Won 9-0 - Box Score

            The Greyhounds won their third straight match including the team's second Landmark Conference win of the season by a sweep, defeating Susquehanna University, 9-0, in a match that started an hour late due to Moravian being delayed while travelling to Selinsgrove.
            Moravian jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles action with wins from the teams of junior Ian Box and sophomore Doug Morrow at first doubles, the duo of junior Chandler Forman and sophomore Thomas Turcich at second doubles and the team of senior Keith Feinman and freshman Kevin Holze at third doubles.
            The Greyhounds then swept all six of the singles matches with Morrow, Box, Holze, Forman, freshman Nick Yelito and junior Jason Bonilla all winning in straight sets.

At Neumann College – Won 8-1 - Box Score

            Moravian posted an 8-1 non-conference win at Neumann College for the team’s seventh win of the season, surpassing last year’s win total of six in just ten contests.
            The Greyhounds led 2-1 after doubles action with wins from the tandems of junior Ian Box and Doug Morrow at first doubles and junior Chandler Forman and sophomore Thomas Turcich.
            Moravian then swept all six of the singles matches.  Morrow won in three sets at first singles while Box, Forman and freshmen Kevin Holze, Drew Shreter and Nick Yelito all won in straight sets.

Vs. The Catholic University of America – Won 9-0 - Box Score

            Moravian earned a 9-0 sweep of The Catholic University of America to begin the 2009 Landmark Conference season at Hoffman Courts.
            The Greyhounds won all three doubles contests with wins by the teams of junior Ian Box and sophomore Doug Morrow, freshmen Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter, and junior Chandler Forman and sophomore Thomas Turcich.
            Moravian then won all six singles matches in straight sets with victories by Morrow, Box, Holze, Shreter, Forman and freshman Nick Yelito.  Shreter’s singles win moved him into a tie for the third most singles victories in a season with 14 while Shreter and Holze moved into a tie for second in school history with their 12th doubles win of the year.

At Stevens Institute of Technology – Lost 6-3 - Box Score

            Moravian dropped a 6-3 non-conference decision to Stevens Institute of Technology.
            The Ducks led 2-1 after doubles action with Moravian’s lone win coming at third doubles in an 8-2 win by junior Chandler Forman and sophomore Thomas Turcich.
            In singles action, Forman posted a three-set win at fifth singles while freshman Nick Yelito won in straight sets at sixth singles for the Greyhounds.  Freshman Drew Shreter dropped a three-set match at fourth singles, Shreter’s first singles loss of the year after starting 13-0, and junior Ian Box fell in three sets at second singles.

Vs. Muhlenberg College – Won 8-1 - Box Score

            Moravian opened its 2009 home season with an 8-1 non-conference victory over rival Muhlenberg College at Hoffman Courts.
            The Greyhounds jumped out to a 3-0 lead by sweeping the doubles action for the second time this season.  Junior Ian Box and sophomore Doug Morrow won 8-2 at first doubles while freshmen Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter also won 8-2 at second doubles.  Junior Chandler Forman and sophomore Thomas Turcich won 8-3 at third doubles.
            Moravian won the top five singles flights for the victory.  Morrow won in straight sets at first singles while Box won in straight sets at second singles and Holze won in two sets at third singles.  Shreter posted a straight sets win at fourth singles to remain undefeated on the season at 13-0 while Forman won in three sets at fifth singles.
            Muhlenberg’s lone win in the match came at sixth singles in a straight sets win by freshman Jordan Rutt.  The win by Moravian cut Muhlenberg’s lead to 7.5 to 4.5 in the annual Matte Award standings between the two rivals.

Vs. Aquinas (MI) College in Orlando, FL – Lost 9-0 - Box Score

            The Greyhounds had their four-match winning streak snapped with a 9-0 loss to NAIA powerhouse Aquinas (MI) College in Moravian's final match on the team's spring break trip to Orlando.
            Moravian's top doubles team of junior Ian Box and sophomore Doug Morrow forced their doubles match into a tiebreaker before falling, 9-8 (7-3). Box also played a three-set singles match at second singles.

Vs. University of Findlay (OH) in Orlando, FL – Won 7-2 - Box Score

            Moravian extended its winning streak to four straight matches with a 7-2 victory over NCAA Division II University of Findlay in the team’s third match on its spring break trip to Orlando.
            The Greyhounds began the match with a sweep of the doubles action to build a 3-0 lead.  Moravian had wins by the doubles teams of the teams of junior Ian Box and sophomore Doug Morrow, freshmen Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter and junior Chandler Forman and sophomore Thomas Turcich.
            In singles action, Moravian won the bottom four singles contests in straight sets with victories by Holze at third singles, Shreter at fourth singles, Forman at fifth singles and freshman Nick Yelito at sixth singles.

Vs. King's College in Orlando, FL – Won 8-1 - Box Score

            The Greyhounds won their second straight match on the annual spring break trip to Florida, earning an 8-1 non-conference victory over King’s College at the Orange Lake Resort.
            The Greyhounds opened the match by sweeping the three doubles contests with victories by the teams of junior Ian Box and sophomore Doug Morrow, freshmen Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter and junior Chandler Forman and sophomore Thomas Turcich.
            Moravian the won the top five singles matches in straight sets with wins by Morrow at first singles, Box at second singles, Holze at third singles, Shreter at fourth singles to improve to 11-0 on the season, and Forman at fifth singles.

Vs. John Carroll (OH) University in Orlando, FL – Won 6-3 - Box Score

            Moravian began the spring portion of its schedule with a 6-3 non-conference victory over John Carroll University at the Sanlando Tennis Center as the Greyhounds began their spring break trip in Orlando.
            Moravian swept the doubles action with victories from the teams of junior Ian Box and sophomore Doug Morrow, freshmen Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter and junior Jason Bonilla and freshman Nick Yelito.
            The Greyhounds then won three of the singles matches to clinch the victory with Box at second singles and Shreter at fourth singles winning in straight sets.  Yelito needed three sets to win his match at fifth singles while Bonilla lost in a tiebreaker in both sets at sixth singles.

At Landmark Conference Invitational hosted by The University of Scranton – Individuals Only - Box Score

            Moravian competed in the first-ever Landmark Conference Invitational being hosted by The University of Scranton. After the first day of action, the Greyhounds had four players set to compete in the championship matches of their singles flights with freshman Kevin Holze in the final at third singles, junior Chandler Forman in the fourth singles final, freshman Drew Shreter in the championship at fifth singles and freshman Nick Yelito in the sixth singles final.
            Holze and Shreter won their championship matches on the second day of competition.
            In doubles action, junior Ian Box and sophomore Doug Morrow reached the semifinals at first doubles on the first day. Holze and Shreter were also in the semifinals at second doubles while Forman and junior Jason Bonilla made the semifinals at third doubles.
            On day two of competition, Holze and Shreter captured the second doubles championship while Forman and Bonilla lost in the final match. Box and Morrow were knocked out in the semifinals.

At 2008 ITA Atlantic-South Championships hosted by the University of Mary Washington – Individuals Only - Box Score

            The Greyhounds competed at the 2008 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Atlantic-South Championchips hosted by the University of Mary Washington, and Moravian had two championships with freshman Kevin Holze winning the B4 Singles Flight and freshman Drew Shreter capturing the B5 Singles Flight.
            Junior Ian Box competed in the Championship Singles Draw, and Box teamed with sophomore Doug Morrow to compete in the Championship Doubles Draw. Morrow participated in the B1 Singles Flight. Junior Chandler Forman was in the B4 Singles Draw with Holze while junior Jason Bonilla and freshman Nick Yelito were both in the B5 singles flight with Shreter. Yelito reached the semfinals before falling to Eric Rouff from Franklin & Marshall College, who Shreter defeated in the finals. Holze and Shreter were 1-1 in the B1 Doubles Draw while Bonilla and Forman competed in the B2 Doubles Draw.

Vs. Cabrini College in Moravian Invitational – Won 6-1 - Box Score

            Moravian earned its first victory of the season, defeating Cabrini College, 6-1, in the second round of the Moravian Invitational played indoors at the Lewis Tennis Center on the Goodman Campus of Lehigh University due to rain. All of the matches were played as prosets.
            The Greyhounds won five of the six singles matches with victories by juniors Ian Box and Chandler Forman and freshmen Kevin Holze, Drew Shreter and Nick Yelito. Holze and Shreter also combined for a win second doubles. The match was called when Moravian won five points, although the squads had Box and Justin Walsh complete their second doubles contest.

Vs. Dickinson College in Moravian Invitational – Lost 5-0 - Box Score

            The Greyhounds dropped their first dual match of the season, falling to Dickinson College, 5-0, in the first round of the Moravian Invitational played indoors at the Lewis Tennis Center on the Goodman Campus of Lehigh University due to rain. All of the matches were played as prosets.
            The match was called after the Red Devils had won five matches. Junior Ian Box was on the court and tied at 5-5 in his singles match when Dickinson earned the winning point.

At Muhlenberg College Fall Classic – Individuals Results - Box Score

            Moravian began its 2008-09 season a the Muhlenberg College Fall Classic with Elizabethtown College and Wilkes University. There were no team scores and the individuals played two singles and two doubles matches.
            The Greyhounds had four individual winners with junior Ian Box winning the championship match in the second singles flight, junior Chandler Forman winning at third singles, freshman Drew Shreter winning at fifth singles and junior Jason Bonilla winning at sixth singles. Freshman Kevin Holze lost in the championship match at fourth singles while sophomore Doug Morrow fell in the consolation match at first singles.
            Moravian also had two doubles teams capture championships with Morrow and Box winning at first doubles and Holze and Shreter capturing the second doubles flight.  Forman and Bonilla lost in the third doubles championship match.
