At Drew University in Landmark Conference Semifinals

The fourth seeded Moravian College men’s tennis team had its 2010-11 season come to close with a 5-1 loss to top seed and defending champion Drew University in the semifinals fo the 2011 Landmark Conference Tournament Tuesday afternoon. The Greyhounds close out the season with an 8-6 record.
Drew won two of the three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead. Moravian's win came at third doubles from senior Thomas Turcich and junior Stefan Apostolos. For Turcich, pictured at right, it was his 41st career doubles victory, tying the school record for doubles victories. Turcich closes his career with a 41-23 doubles mark, tying Ian Box in wins.
The teams only completed three singles matches with Drew winning all three to clinch the victory. Landmark Conference rules have the match end when one team reaches the five points needed to win. Turcich had forced a third set in his sixth singles match but was unable to finish the contest.
At Drew University

The Moravian College men’s tennis team closed out its 2010-11 regular season with an 8-1 loss at Drew University Saturday afternoon in Landmark Conference action. The contest was played at Drew's indoor facility due to weather, and the two squads will meet again on Tuesday, April 26th at Drew in the 2011 Landmark Conference Semifinals. Drew is the top seed in the tournament while the Greyhounds are seeded fourth. The start time is still to be determined for the match.
Drew swept the doubles action to take a 3-0 lead. The closest match for Moravian came at second doubles when juniors Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter fell by an 8-4 score.
The Greyhounds lone win came in singles action with senior Thomas Turcich, pictured at right, earning a proset win at sixth singles. Junior Nick Yelito dropped his fifth singles proset, 8-6.
At Wilkes University

The Moravian College men’s tennis team has cancelled its final non-conference match of the 2010-11 season at Wilkes University for Tuesday, April 19th due to the weather. The match will not be rescheduled this year.
At Goucher College

The Moravian College men’s tennis team posted a 9-0 win at Goucher College in Landmark Conference action on Sunday as the Greyhounds clinched a berth in the 2011 Landmark Conference Championships with Juniata College's loss to The Catholic University of America on Sunday as well.
Moravian swept the doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead with wins by senior Doug Morrow and junior Nick Yelito at first doubles, juniors Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter at second doubles and senior Thomas Turcich and junior Stefan Toulouse at third doubles. With the win, Turcich, pictured at right, became the third player in school history to reach 40 career doubles victories.
The Greyhounds then won all six singles matches in straight sets with Holze becoming the fifth player in school history with 40 career wins with his victory at first singles. Morrow won at second singles while Shreter won at third singles and Yelito was victorious at fourth singles. Turcich earned a win at fifth singles while Toulouse finished the match with a win at sixth singles.
At Goucher College

The Moravian College men’s tennis team has had its Landmark Conference match at Goucher College for Saturday, April 16th postponed to Sunday, April 17th due to the weather forecast Saturday. The match will begin at 1:00 p.m.

The Moravian College men’s tennis team saw its four-match winning streak snapped in a 7-2 Landmark Conference loss to The University of Scranton at Hoffman Courts Friday.
The Greyhounds led 2-1 after doubles actions with wins by senior Doug Morrow and junior Nick Yelito, pictured at right, at first doubles and juniors Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter in a tiebreaker at second doubles.
However, Scranton swept the singles matches to earn the victory. Moravian had two players, Yelito at fifth singles and senior Thomas Turcich at sixth singles, force third sets in their singles contests.
At Neumann University

The Moravian College men’s tennis team posted an 8-1 non-conference win at Neumann University as the Greyhounds won their fourth straight match.
The Greyhounds captured all three doubles contests to open the match with wins by senior Doug Morrow and junior Nick Yelito at first doubles, juniors Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter, pictured at right, at second doubles and senior Thomas Turcich and freshman Craig Bunting at third doubles.
Moravian then won the top five singles matches to earn the victory. Holze won in straight sets at first singles while Morrow earned a two-set win at second singles. Shreter and Yelito had straight sets victories at third and fourth singles while Turcich won a proset match at fifth singles.

The Moravian College men’s tennis team has postponed its Landmark Conference match versus The University of Scranton for Tuesday, April 12th due to rain. The match has been rescheduled for Friday, April 15th at Hoffman Courts.

The Moravian College men’s tennis team posted a 9-0 win over visiting The United States Merchant Marine Academy in Landmark Conference action Saturday at Hoffman Courts in the Greyhounds final home match of the 2011 regular season. It was also Moravian's third straight victory.
The Greyhounds captured all three doubles contests to open the match with wins by senior Doug Morrow, pictured at right, and junior Nick Yelito at first doubles, juniors Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter at second doubles and senior Thomas Turcich and sophomore Brad Kutcha at third doubles.
Moravian then swept the singles action, winning all six matches in straight sets. Holze won at first singles, his 38th career win to move him into fifth in school history, while Morrow was victorious at second singles. Shreter captured a win at third singles while Yelito won at fourth singles as both players earned their 35th career wins. Turcich won at fifth singles for the Greyhounds while junior David Chan won his first collegiate match at sixth singles.
At Wilkes University

The Moravian College men’s tennis team has had its non-conference match at Wilkes University scheduled for Wednesday, April 6th postponed due to forecasted rain showers this afternoon. The contest has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 19th at 3:30 p.m. in Wilkes-Barre.

The Moravian College men’s tennis team posted a 6-3 win over rival Muhlenberg College in non-conference action at Hoffman Courts Monday afternoon.
The Greyhounds captured all three doubles contests to open the match with wins by senior Doug Morrow and junior Nick Yelito at first doubles, juniors Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter at second doubles and senior Thomas Turcich and junior Stefan Toulouse at third doubles.
Moravian then won the top three singles matches to clinch the victory. Holze, pictured at right, had the decisive three-set win at first singles to earn the team victory while Morrow won in straight sets at second singles. Shreter also earned a three-set win at third singles for the Greyhounds while Yelito forced a tiebreaker in his fourth singles match.
At Susquehanna University

The Moravian College men’s tennis team won its second Landmark Conference match of the season and its first on the road with a 9-0 sweep at Susquehanna University Saturday.
The Greyhounds captured all three doubles contests to open the match with wins by senior Doug Morrow and junior Nick Yelito at first doubles, juniors Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter at second doubles and senior Thomas Turcich, pictured at right, and junior Stefan Toulouse at third doubles.
Moravian then won all six singles contests with three of the victories coming in straight sets. Holze captured a straight sets win at first singles while Morrow won in straight sets at second singles. Sherter needed three sets for his win at third singles while Yelito earned a straight sets victory at fourth singles. Turcich won a three-set match at fifth singles while Toulouse won in three sets at sixth singles.
At LaSalle University

The Moravian College men’s tennis team has had its non-conference match at NCAA Division I LaSalle University scheduled for Thursday, March 31st postponed. No make-up date has been scheduled at this time.

The Moravian College men’s tennis team dropped its first match of the season at Hoffman Courts, falling to The Catholic University of America, 5-4, in Landmark Conference action Saturday in a match that took nearly five hours to play in the cold.
The Greyhounds won two of the three doubles points to take the lead. Senior Doug Morrow, pictured at right, and junior Nick Yelito picked up a point at first doubles while junior Stefan Toulouse and senior Thomas Turcich won at third doubles. The duo of juniors Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter dropped a close 8-6 match at second doubles.
In singles action, Moravian won the top two singles matches with victories by Holze in three sets at first singles and Morrow in straight sets at second singles. The Cardinals won the next three singles matches to come off the court with Turcich and Kyle Kramer of Catholic still playing at fifth singles. Turcich won the opening set, 7-5, but Kramer rebounded to take the second set. 7-5, and the deciding set, 6-3, to give the Cardinals the victory.

The Moravian College men’s tennis team opened its 2011 Landmark Conference season with a 7-2 victory over Juniata College in a match played at DeSales University.
The Greyhounds won two of the three doubles points to take the lead. Senior Doug Morrow and junior Nick Yelito picked up a point at first doubles while juniors Kevin Holze, pictured at right, and Drew Shreter won at second doubles. The duo of junior Stefan Toulouse and freshman Craig Bunting lost at third doubles in their first dual match together this season.
In singles action, Moravian won the top five singles matches in straight sets to clinch the win. Holze won at first singles and was followed by Morrow at second singles, Shreter at third singles, Yelito at fourth single and Toulouse at fifth singles. Bunting, playing in his first dual match of the season, fell at sixth singles.
Vs. John Carroll (OH) University in Spring TennisFest

The Moravian College men’s tennis team closed out its trip to the 2011 Spring TennisFest in Hilton Head, South Carolina with a 6-3 loss to John Carroll (OH) University Friday morning.
The Greyhounds swept all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead. Senior Doug Morrow, pictured at right, and junior Nick Yelito earned a win at first doubles while juniors Stefan Apostolos and Kevin Holze won at second doubles. Junior Drew Shreter and senior Thomas Turcich earned a win at third doubles.
In singles action, John Carroll won all six matches to clinch the win. Moravian did force two contests into third sets with Morrow dropping a three-set match at second singles and junior Stefan Toulouse falling in three sets at sixth singles.
Vs. Methodist (NC) University in Spring TennisFest

The Moravian College men’s tennis team suffered its first loss of the 2011 spring season, falling to Methodist (NC) Universitym 9-0, Wednesday afternoon at the Spring TennisFest in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The match was played a day earlier than scheduled due to the weather forecast for Thursday.
The Monarchs won all three doubles matches, however; the Greyhounds lost by scores of 8-6 at both second doubles with juniors Stefan Apostolos and Kevin Holze and third double with junior Drew Shreter and senior Thomas Turcich.
The closest Moravian came to a point in singles action was at fifth single where junior Nick Yelito, pictured at right, forced a third set, falling in the super tiebreaker, 10-7.
Vs. Davis & Elkins (WV) College in Spring TennisFest

The Moravian College men’s tennis team won its second straight match at the Spring TennisFest in Hilton Head, South Carolina, defeating NCAA Division II Davis & Elkins College, 7-2, Tuesday morning.
The Greyhounds won five of the six singles matches, which were played first in the contest instead of after the doubles matches. Junior Kevin Holze won at second singles while junior Drew Shreter, pictured at right, had a win at third singles. Junior Stefan Apostolos earned a victory at fourth singles while junior Nick Yelito won at fifth singles. Senior Thomas Turcich won at sixth singles for the Greyhounds while senior Doug Morrow dropped a three-set match at first singles.
Moravian then won two of the three doubles matches to finish the contest. Apostolos and Holze combined for a win at second doubles while Shreter and junior Stefan Toulouse won at third doubles.
Vs. Marietta (OH) College in Spring TennisFest

The Moravian College men’s tennis team opened its 2011 spring season with a 9-0 victory over Marietta (OH) College in the Greyhounds first match at the Spring TennisFest in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Moravian started the match by sweeping the doubles action with victories by the teams of senior Doug Morrow and junior Nick Yelito at first doubles, juniors Kevin Holze, pictured at right, and Stefan Apostolos at second singles and junior Drew Shreter and senior Thomas Turcich at third singles.
The Greyhounds also swept the singles action in their first dual meet of the season. Holze won at first singles while Morrow earned a win at second singles. Shreter picked up the victory at third singles while Apostolos won at fourth singles. Yelito earned a win at fifth singles while junior Stefan Toulouse earned the win at sixth singles for Moravian.
At Marywood University

The Moravian College men’s tennis team had its lone dual match on the fall portion of its schedule cancelled due to inclement weather. The Greyhounds were scheduled to travel to Marywood University on Tuesday, October 5th. The contest will likely be rescheduled in the spring season.
At Muhlenberg College Fall Classic
Individuals Results - Box Score
The Moravian College men’s tennis team competed at the Muhlenberg College Fall Classic with the host Mules, Wilkes University and York College of Pennsylvania.
The Greyhounds' top individual was junior Nick Yelito, pictured at right, who won the third singles flight with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Ben Berkowitz of Muhlenberg College and an 8-3 victory versus Ryan Harvey from York in the championship match. Yelito was the only Greyhound player to make a championship match in the six singles flights.
Junior Drew Shreter did win the consolation match at second singles, defeating Travis Klein, 8-3, after a straight sets loss to Wes McCollum of Wilkes in the opening match.
Yelito and Shreter earned an 8-4 win over Berkowitz and Andrew Brod of Muhlenberg in the first round of the second doubles flight before falling to Gavin Smith and Justin Hostetter of York, 8-5, in the championship.
At University of Scranton Invitational

The Moravian College men’s tennis team opened its 2010-11 season at the opening day of the University of Scranton Invitational Saturday. Due to the weather, the Greyhounds did not compete on the second day of the tournament.
Senior Thomas Turcich, pictured at right, posted a win over Wyatt Nolan of Marywood University in the quarterfinals of the C Flight, and he then defeated Bennett Kelly of Scranton in the semifinals. Junior Stefan Toulouse dropped his first match in the C Flight.
Junior Stefan Apostolos won his opening quarterfinal match over Todd Doran from Marywood University in the B Flight singles before falling to Carl Caceres from Scranton in the semifinals. Junior Nick Yelito lost his opening quarterfinal match in the same flight.
Juniors Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter both lost their quarterfinal matches in the A Flight singles. Freshman Craig Bunting dropped his opening round match in the D Flight.
In doubles action, Turcich and Toulouse won their opening match in the B Flight before falling in the semifinals. In the A Flight, the duo of Shreter and Yelito and the tandem of Holze and Apostolos each fell in the quarterfinals.
