At Juniata College – Lost 3-0 in Commonwealth Conference
Championship
Senior middle hitter Becky Falk had six kills to lead the Greyhounds
but it wasn't enough as Moravian fell to Juniata College, 9-15, 0-15,
9-15 to end the 2000 season in the Commonwealth Conference Championship
match. Junior right side hitter Sara Walkiewicz had five kills
and four digs while freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf had four kills
and six digs. Freshman setter Amy Lawrence contributed 17 assists
while senior defensive specialist Emily Shonk added a team leading
eight digs.
At Susquehanna University – Won 3-1 in Commonwealth
Conference Semifinals
Freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf had 18 kills, four service aces and
23 digs while freshman setter Amy Lawrence had 41 assists and five
service aces to lead the Greyhounds to a 15-2, 10-15, 15-7, 15-10 win
over Susquehanna University in the Commonwealth Conference Semifinals. The
Greyhounds will play at Juniata for the fifth straight season for the
Commonwealth Championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA Division
III Tournament. Junior right side hitter Sara Walkiewicz added
12 kills and 22 digs in the win while senior middle hitter Becky Falk
had ten kills. Freshman right side hitter Shannon McNeil had
seven kills and senior defensive specialist Emily Shonk added 13 digs. Senior
middle hitter Sara Young contributed eight kills and two solo blocks.
Vs. Gettysburg College at Elizabethtown Tournament – Won 3-2
Freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf had 29 kills and 29 digs while freshman
setter Amy Lawrence had 62 assists and 12 digs to lead the Greyhounds
to a 7-15, 15-13, 16-14, 13-15, 15-13 win over Gettysburg College to
finish second in the Elizabethtown College Halloween Classic. Zipf
and Lawrence were each named to the All-Tournament Team. Junior
opposite hitter Sara Walkiewicz contributed 16 kills and 13 digs in
the match while senior middle hitter Becky Falk had 12 kills and four
blocks. Senior middle hitter Sara Young added seven kills.
Vs. Roberts Wesleyan College at Elizabethtown Tournament – Lost
3-2
Freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf had 24 kills and 28 digs to lead
the Greyhounds in a 13-15, 15-6, 8-15, 15-13, 11-15 loss to Roberts
Wesleyan College in the championship bracket of the Elizabethtown College
Halloween Classic. Freshman setter Amy Lawrence ran the Moravian
offense with 66 assists and she added 14 digs while junior right side
hitter Sara Walkiewicz had 17 kills and 27 digs. Senior middle
hitter Sara Young had 16 kills and three blocks in the loss.
Vs. Salisbury State University at Elizabethtown Tournament – Won
3-1
Freshman setter Amy Lawrence had 50 assists and 22 digs while freshman
outside hitter Kim Zipf had 18 kills and 25 digs to lead the Greyhounds
to a 15-10, 17-15, 12-15, 15-10 triumph over Salisbury State University
in the second round of the Elizabethtown College Halloween Classic. Junior
right side hitter Sara Walkiewicz had five kills and 23 digs while
senior defensive specialist Emily Shonk contributed four service aces
and 15 digs. Freshman outside hitter Shannon McNeil had five
kills and 15 digs while senior middle hitters Becky Falk and Sara Young
contributed 14 and 13 kills respectively.
Vs. Western Maryland College at Elizabethtown Tournament – Won
3-1
Freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf had 15 kills and 32 digs to lead
the Greyhounds in a 14-16, 15-5, 15-3, 15-9 victory over Western Maryland
College in the first round of the Elizabethtown College Halloween Classic. Freshman
setter Amy Lawrence added 44 assists and 25 digs while junior opposite
hitter Sara Walkiewicz had nine kills and 16 digs.
At Widener University – Won 3-0
Freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf had 13 kills and 12 digs to lead
the Greyhounds in a 15-4, 15-3, 15-13 victory over Widener University
in Commonwealth Conference action and to clinch a tie for second place
in the regular season. Moravian will be the number three seed
in the playoffs and travel to Susquehanna University on Wednesday,
November 1st for a Commonwealth Conference Semifinal. Senior
middle Becky Falk had ten kills in the win while junior right side
hitter Sara Walkiewicz added nine kills and 12 digs. Freshman
setter Amy Lawrence had 38 assists and 11 digs in the match.
At Richard Stockton (NJ) University – Won 3-1
Freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf had 24 kills and 24 digs to lead
the Greyhounds in a 15-11, 15-13, 13-15, 15-8 victory over Richard
Stockton (NJ) University. Senior middle hitter Sara Young had
12 kills in the win while freshman outside hitter Mary Kate Cordisco
had 15 kills and ten digs. Freshman setter Amy Lawrence ran the
Greyhound offense with 62 assists to go along with 23 digs and five
kills. Senior middle hitter Becky Falk contributed 15 kills while
freshman outside hitter Shannon McNeil had 12 digs and seven kills
and senior defensive specialist had 13 digs and three service aces.
Vs. Messiah College – Won 3-0
Freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf had 11 kills and 12 digs to lead
the Greyhounds in a 15-6, 15-5, 15-7 sweep of Messiah College in Commonwealth
Conference action. Senior middle hitter Sara Young had seven
kills and three blocks in her final home match while freshman setter
Amy Lawrence had 23 assists, eight digs and three service aces. Junior
right side hitter Sara Walkiewicz contributed 13 digs while senior
defensive specialist Emily Shonk had nine digs and two service aces.
Vs. Franklin & Marshall College at Western Maryland Tournament – Lost
3-0
Freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf had 13 kills and 13 digs to lead
the Greyhounds in a 8-15, 4-15, 14-16 lost to Mid-Atlantic Regional
ranked Franklin & Marshall College to close out the Western Maryland
College Tournament. Becky Falk had eight kills in the match while
freshman setter Amy Lawrence added 26 assists.
Vs. Gallaudet University at Western Maryland Tournament – Lost

The Greyhounds dropped a tough 12-15, 11-15, 15-12, 15-6, 9-15 decision
to Gallaudet University to open the second day of the Western Maryland
College Tournament. Freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf had 22 kills
and 29 digs while senior middle hitter Sara Young added 17 kills. Junior
right side hitter Sara Walkiewicz had 15 digs and six kills while senior
middle hitter Becky Falk contributed 12 kills. Freshman setter
Amy Lawrence led the offense with 50 assists and she had 21 digs while
freshman outside hitter Shannon McNeil made nine kills and 19 digs. Freshman
defensive specialist Alissa Busci added 12 digs in the loss.
Vs. Bridgewater (VA) College at Western Maryland Tournament – Won
3-0
Senior middle hitter Sara Young has 12 kills to lead the Greyhounds
to a 15-10, 15-9, 15-11 victory over Bridgewater (VA) College at the
Western Maryland College Tournament. Freshman setter Amy Lawrence
added 31 assists while junior right side hitter Sara Walkiewicz had
five kills and ten digs. Senior middle hitter Becky Falk had
seven kills in the contest and freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf made
nine kills and 11 digs.
Vs. Salisbury State University at Western Maryland Tournament – Won
3-1
Freshman Kim Zipf had 21 kills and 19 digs to lead the Greyhounds
to a 16-18, 15-9, 15-7, 15-6 victory over Salisbury State University
in the first match of the Western Maryland College Tournament. Junior
right side hitter Sara Walkiewicz added 14 kills and 26 digs while
senior defensive specialist Emily Shonk had 20 digs. Freshman
setter Amy Lawrence ran the offense with 47 assists while senior middle
hitters Becky Falk and Sara Young added 11 kills and eight kills, five
blocks respectively.
At Susquehanna University – Lost 3-0
Freshman Kim Zipf had ten kills and 20 digs to lead the Greyhounds
but it wasn’t enough as the squad fell to Susquehanna University,
15-17, 11-15, 8-15, in Commonwealth Conference action. Senior
middle hitter Becky Falk had nine kills and nine digs while freshman
setter Amy Lawrence added 28 assists and six digs. Junior right
side hitter Sara Walkiewicz had nine kills and six digs in the match
while freshman setter Andrea Frankenfield had 12 assists and eight
digs.
Vs. Juniata College – Lost 3-0
Freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf had six kills and 11 digs to lead
Moravian in a 15-3, 15-11, 15-5 loss to #4 Juniata College in Commonwealth
Conference action. The loss snaps the Greyhounds 18-match home
winning streak. Freshman setter Amy Lawrence had 13 assists and
three service aces in the match while freshman setter Andrea Frankenfield
had four service aces. Moravian scored ten of its 19 points in
the match on service aces. Junior right side hitter Sara Walkiewicz
had four kills and seven digs while senior middle hitter Becky Falk
had four kills.
Vs. Lycoming College Won 3-2
Freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf had 15 kills and 19 digs to lead
Moravian to a 6-15, 15-12, 15-12, 11-15, 15-9 victory over Lycoming
College in Middle Atlantic Conference action. Senior middle hitter
Becky Falk and freshman right side hitter Sara Hollenbacher each had
13 kills while senior middle hitter Sara Young had 11 kills and five
blocks. Freshman setter Amy Lawrence added 36 assists and 17 digs in
the win for Moravian. Freshman setter Andrea Frankenfield had
20 assists and 17 digs while freshman outside hitter Shannon McNeil
had ten kills and eight digs.
At Kutztown University of Pennsylvania Lost 3-1
For the first time in six matches, the Greyhounds tasted defeat, falling
to NCAA Division II Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, 9-15, 4-15,
15-12, 7-15. Moravian had beaten the Golden Bears the last three
times the schools had met. Freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf
had 14 kills and 21 digs while senior middle hitter Becky Falk has
13 kills and six blocks. Freshman outside hitter Mary Kate Cordisco
had nine kills and senior middle hitter Sara Young added 12 kills. Freshman
setter Amy Lawrence had 36 assists and 11 digs.
Vs. University of Scranton Won 3-0
Freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf had nine kills and nine digs to lead
the Greyhounds to a 15-7, 15-10, 15-11 victory over the University
of Scranton in Middle Atlantic Conference action. Senior middle
hitter Becky Falk added seven kills while freshmn setter Amy Lawrence
had 16 assists and four service aces. Freshman right side hitter
Shannon McNeil added six kills and three blocks while junior outside
hitter Krystol Kessack had 14 digs and three service aces. Senior
middle hitter Sara Young made six kills for the Greyhounds in the win.
At Albright College Won 3-0
Senior middle hitter Becky Falk had 10 kills and six blocks while
junior outside hitter Sara Walkiewicz added six kills and seven digs
to lead the Greyhounds to a 15-9, 15-2, 15-10 victory over Albright
College in Commonwealth Conference action. Senior middle hitter
Sara Young added four kills and 11 blocks while freshman setter Amy
Lawrence had 16 assists and three service aces. Freshman setter
Andrea Frankenfield also had ten assists in the match.
Vs. Lebanon Valley College Won 3-0
Senior middle hitter Becky Falk had 16 kills and three blocks while
junior outside hitter Sara Walkiewicz added 12 kills and 11 digs to
lead the Greyhounds to a 15-10, 15-9, 15-7 victory over Lebanon Valley
College in Commonwealth Conference action. Freshman setter Amy
Lawrence added 31 assists and nine digs while junior outside hitter
Krystol Kessack had seven kills and 14 digs. Freshman setter
Andrea Frankenfield contributed 17 assists while freshman outside hitter
Kim Zipf had three service aces and 11 digs. Senior middle hitter
Sara Young had seven kills for the Greyhounds as did freshman outside
hitter Shannon McNeil.
Vs. Muhlenberg College Won 3-1
Senior middle hitter Becky Falk had ten kills for the Greyhounds while
senior middle hitter Sara Young had 11 kills and seven blocks to lead
the Greyhounds to a 15-12, 15-7, 12-15, 15-5 victory over rival Muhlenberg
College. Freshman setter Amy Lawrence had 29 assists in the match while
freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf added 11 digs and eight kills. Freshman
setter Andrea Frankenfield added 13 assists while senior defensive
specialist Emily Shonk had four service aces and seven digs.
At Elizabethtown College Won 3-0
Moravian opened its 2000 Commonwealth Conference season with a 15-13,
16-14, 15-8 victory over Elizabethtown College. The Greyhounds
were led by 16 kills from senior middle hitter Becky Falk and 12 kills
from senior middle hitter Sara Young. Freshman setter Amy Lawrence
contributed 28 assists while freshman setter Andrea Frankenfield had
16 assists. Junior outside hitter Krystol Kessack added ten kills
and 28 digs while freshman outside hitter Shannon McNeil had 13 digs.
Vs. Western Maryland College at Gettysburg Battlefield Classic Won

Moravian finished the 2000 Gettysburg Battlefield Classic with a 3-1
record after a 15-13, 15-13, 11-15, 15-4 win over Western Maryland
College. Freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf had 13 kills in the
match while freshman outside hitter Shannon McNeil and senior middle
hitters Becky Falk and Sara Young had 10 kills. Senior defensive
specialist Emily Shonk added eight digs in the win.
Vs. Wheaton College at Gettysburg Battlefield Classic Lost

Freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf had 11 kills and freshman setter
Andrea Frankenfield had 10 assists as the the Greyhounds lost their
opening match of the second day of the Gettysburg Battlefield Classic
to Wheaton College 6-15, 13-15, 7-15. Freshman setter Amy Lawrence
added 15 asssits while freshman defensive specialist Alissa Bucsi had
seven digs.
Vs. Villa Julie College at Gettysburg Battlefield Classic Won
3-0
Moravian won its first round pool at the Gettysburg Battlefield Classic
with a 15-5, 15-6, 15-11 victory over Villa Julie College. Senior
middle hitter Becky Falk had eight kills in the match while freshman
Kim Zipf had seven kills. Freshman outside hitter Mary Kate
Cordisco has six kills and three digs for the Greyhounds.
Vs. Salisbury State University at Gettysburg Battlefield Classic Won

Freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf had 21kills and 11 digs and freshman
setter Andrea Frankenfield had 19 assists and five digs as the the
Greyhounds won their opening match of the Gettysburg Battlefield Classic
versus Salisbury State University 15-7, 15-9, 7-15, 15-9. Freshman
setter Amy Lawrence added 27 asssits while senior middle hitter Becky
Falk had 10 kills and senior middle hitter Sara young added nine kills..
Vs. Allentown College Won 3-0
Senior middle hitter Becky Falk had her best match of the season with
16 kills and just two errors to lead the Greyhounds to a 15-6, 17-15,
15-8 victory over Allentown College of St. Francis DeSales. Moravian
had to battle back from a 12-5 deficit in the second game to get the
win. Freshman right side hitter Shannon McNeil added ten kills and
ten digs for the Greyhounds while freshman outside hitter Kim Zipf
had nine kills and ten digs. Freshman setter Amy Lawrence had 22 assists,
eight digs and two service aces in the match while freshman setter
Andrea Frankenfield added 13 assists. Senior defensive specialist
Emily Shonnk added 12 digs and three service aces while junior outside
hitter Krystol Kessack had 13 digs.
Vs. Eastern Mennonite (VA) University at Messiah College Tournament Won
3-0
The Greyhounds finished third at the Messiah College Tournament after
a 15-5, 15-1, 15-12 victory over Eastern Mennonite (VA) University. Senior
becky Falk had six kills and two blocks while freshman Kim Zipf added
five kills. Freshman setter Amy Lawrence contributed 17 assists
while freshman Sara Hollenbacher had six kills.
Vs. Muhlenberg College at Messiah College Tournament Lost
3-2
Moravian lost a tough 3-2 battle to rival Muhlenberg College at the
Messiah College Tournament by scores of 12-15, 15-13, 5-15, 15-10,
13-15. Freshman Kim Zipf had 15 kills, 12 digs and three blocks
in the match while senior Becky Falk added eight kills and seven blocks. Junior
Krystol Kessack had eight kills and eight digs in the match while freshman
Andrea Franklenfield had 12 assists. Freshman Amy Lawrence added
16 assists and 13 digs for the Greyhounds.
Vs. West Chester University of PA at Messiah College Tournament Won
3-0
The Greyhounds opened the 1999 season with a 15-10, 15-8, 16-14 victory
over NCAA Division II West Chester University of Pennsylvania in the
Messiah College Tournament. Seniors Becky Falk and Sara Young
each had ten kills in the match while freshman Kim Zipf added seven
kills and two blocks. Freshman Andrea Frankenfield added 15 assists,
three service aces while classmate Amy Lawrence had 18 assists and
two service aces.
