Vs. Juniata College in NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship – Lost 3-0

Senior outside hitter Amy Sandt had nine kills and nine digs in her last collegiate match and senior setter Kaitie Kramer added 21 assists and nine digs as the Lady Greyhounds fell to Juniata College, 12-15, 4-15, 3-15, in the championship match of the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional. Moravian led the first game of the contest 12-11 before Juniata rallied for the victory. Junior outside hitter Kendra Insley added five kills and five digs while sophomore opposite hitter Sara Walkiewicz had nine digs and junior middle hitter Becky Falk had four kills.

Vs. Franklin & Marshall College in NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional – Won 3-1

Senior outside hitter Amy Sandt had 22 kills, 22 digs and three service aces and senior setter Kaitie Kramer added 63 assists, 24 digs and five kills to lead the Lady Greyhounds to their first-ever win in the NCAA Division III National Tournament, defeating Franklin & Marshall, 10-15, 15-11, 15-12, 15-12. The second seeded Lady Greyhounds move into the regional championship match against Juniata College. Kramer broke her own school record for assists in a season in the contest. Junior middle hitters Becky Falk and Sara Young each had 16 kills in the match with Young adding two blocks. Sophomore opposite hitter Sara Walkiewicz had 21 digs, nine kills, seven assists and four service aces while junior defensive specialist Emily Shonk had 23 digs and three service aces. Sophomore Krystol Kessack had 15 kills and six kills and junior defensive specialist Natalie Balaziuk had ten digs and four service aces.

MAC Championship vs. Juniata College – Lost 3-0

In the Middle Atlantic Conference championship match against Juniata College, which has won 19 consecutive MAC titles and has not lost to a MAC opponent since 1981, a string of 225 straight wins, Moravian fell by the final of 6-15, 10-15, 10-15. Junior middle hitter Becky Falk and senior outside hitter Amy Sandt had six kills while senior setter Kaitie Kramer and sophomore opposite hitter Sara Walkiewicz each had five kills. Sandt led the Lady Greyhounds with 16 digs in the match while junior defensive specialist Emily Shonk added 14 digs and Walkiewicz had 10 digs. Falk and Walkiewicz added three blocks in the contest while sophomore outside hitter Krystol Kessack had four kills and eight digs. Kramer added 22 assists.

MAC Semifinals vs. University of Scranton – Won 3-2

Senior outside hitter Amy Sandt set a pair of school records with a 26 kill, 39-dig performance in a 8-15, 15-10, 15-11, 8-15, 15-9 victory over the University of Scranton in the semifinals of the Middle Atlantic Conference playoffs. The 26 kills lifted Sandt’s career total to 1,455 kills breaking the school record set last season by current assistant coach Stephanie Rickards. The 39 digs gave Sandt a single season total 525 digs to break her own school record set in 1998. Senior setter Kaitie Kramer had 61 assists in the match and added 19 digs, four blocks and five kills. The 61 assists pushed Kramer season total over the 1,100 mark for the second consecutive year. Junior middle hitter Sara Young added 16 kills and six blocks in the victory over Scranton while junior middle hitter Becky Falk had 13 kills. Sophomore opposite hitter Sara Walkiewicz contributed 29 digs and four blocks while junior defensive specialist Emily Shonk added 26 digs and junior defensive specialist Natalie Balaziuk had 20 digs. Junior outside hitter Kendra Insley had 25 digs and five kills in the match.

Vs. King’s College (MAC Playoffs) – Won 3-1

Senior outside hitter Amy Sandt had 19 kills and 28 digs while senior setter Kaitie Kramer added 51 assists and 16 digs to lead the Lady Greyhounds to a 15-5, 15-0, 13-15, 15-8 victory over King’s College in the second round of the Middle Atlantic Conference Playoffs. The victory was the 100th in Sandt’s and Kramer’s careers. The duo has a 100-24 record at Moravian. Junior middle hitter Becky Falk added 17 kills and five blocks in the match while sophomore opposite hitter Sara Walkiewicz had 12 digs, eight kills and six service aces. Junior outside hitter Kendra Insley added 12 digs and six kills and junior defensive specialist Emily Shonk had 14 digs.

Vs. Western Maryland College at Elizabethtown Halloween Classic – Won 3-1

Senior outside hitter Amy Sandt had 19 kills and 22 digs to lead the Lady Greyhounds to a 15-11, 12-15, 15-13, 16-14 victory over Western Maryland College in the semifinals of the Elizabethtown College Halloween Classic. Senior setter Kaitie Kramer added 55 assists and 18 digs while sophomore outside hitter Krystol Kessack had 19 digs. Kramer and Sandt had four service aces apiece and junior defensive specialist Natalie Balaziuk had 22 digs. Junior middle hitters Becky Falk and Sara Young each had 12 kills in the match and Young added three blocks.

Vs. Franklin & Marshall College at Elizabethtown Halloween Classic – Won 3-0

Behind 15 kills and 21 digs from senior outside hitter Amy Sandt, Moravian, ranked third in the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Region, defeated Franklin & Marshall College, ranked second in the region, 15-6, 15-4, 15-9 to win the Elizabethtown College Halloween Classic. Senior setter Kaitie Kramer added 38 assists and 13 digs while junior middle hitter Sara Young had 10 blocks and seven kills. Junior outside hitter Kendra Insley had 10 kills in the match.

Vs. Salisbury State University at Elizabethtown College Halloween Classic – Won 3-0

Senior outside hitter Amy Sandt had 10 kills and 16 digs while senior setter Kaitie Kramer had 31 assists and 16 digs to lead the Lady Greyhounds to a 15-8, 15-10, 15-12 victory over Salisbury State University in the first day of the Elizabethtown College Halloween Classic. Junior middle hitters Sara Young and Becky Falk added nine kills and eight kills respectively.

Vs. Kutztown University of PA – Won 3-0

With 13 kills from junior middle hitter Becky Falk and 10 kills and 20 digs from senior outside hitter Amy Sandt, the Lady Greyhounds earned a 15-9, 15-2, 15-11 sweep of NCAA Division II Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. Senior setter Kaitie Kramer had 38 assists and 15 digs in the match while junior Emily Shonk and sophomore Krystol Kessack added 11 digs each.

Vs. Susquehanna University – Won 3-1

The Lady Greyhounds clinched second place in the MAC Commonwealth Conference for the fourth straight season with a 13-15, 15-9, 15-12, 15-7 victory over Susquehanna University. Junior middle hitter Becky Falk led Moravian with 17 kills while senior outside hitter Amy Sandt had 13 kills and 21 digs. Senior setter Kaitie Kramer added 45 assists and 18 digs while junior defensive specialist Emily Shonk had 19 digs and five service aces.

At Allentown College – Won 3-0

Moravian captured a 15-2, 15-11, 15-13 victory over Allentown College in Middle Atlantic Conference action behind 12 kills and 12 digs from senior outside hitter Amy Sandt. Senior setter Kaitie Kramer added 33 assists and seven digs. Junior defensive specialist Emily Shonk had 15 digs while junior middle hitter Sara Young had 13 kills.

At Messiah College – Won 3-1

Senior outside hitter Amy Sandt had 17 kills and 19 digs to lead the Lady Greyhounds to a 9-15, 15-13, 15-8, 15-13 victory over Messiah College to clinch a spot in the Middle Atlantic Conference Playoffs. Senior center Kaitie Kramer had 43 assists and junior middle hitter Sara Young added 13 kills.

At Green Terror Invitational hosted by Western Maryland College
Vs. Lycoming College – Won 3-1

Junior middle hitter Becky Falk had 14 kills and three blocks and senior setter Kaitie Kramer added eight kills, 49 assists and 23 digs to lead the Lady Greyhounds to a 15-9, 15-7, 14-16, 15-9 victory over Lycoming College in the semifinals of the Green Terror Invitational. Senior outside hitter Amy Sandt added 12 kills and 29 digs while junior middle hitter Sara Young had nine kills and two blocks.

Vs. Franklin & Marshall College – Lost 3-0

Senior outside hitter Amy Sandt had 12 kills and 19 digs but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Greyhounds lost the championship match of the Green Terror Invitational to Franklin & Marshall College, 7-15, 7-15, 9-15. Senior setter Kaitie Kramer added 31 assists and seven kills while junior middle hitter Sara Young and Becky Falk had eight and six kills respectively. Junior defensive specialist Natalie Balaziuk added four service aces.

Vs. St. Mary’s (MD) College – Won 3-0

Senior outside hitter Amy Sandy had 14 kills and 17 digs while senior setter Kaitie Kramer added 46 assists and seven digs to lead the Lady Greyhounds to a 15-2, 15-10, 15-12 victory over St. Mary’s (MD) College at the Green Terror Invitational. Junior middle hitters Becky Falk and Sara Young added 15 and nine kills respectively while   sophomore right side hitter Sara Walkiewicz and junior defensive specialist Emily Shonk had five service aces apiece.

Vs. Richard Stockton College of New Jersey – Won 3-0

Senior outside hitter Amy Sandy had 14 kills and 17 digs while senior setter Kaitie Kramer added 46 assists and nine digs to lead the Lady Greyhounds to a 15-4, 15-9, 15-12 victory over Richard Stockton College of New Jersey at the Green Terror Invitational. Junior middle hitter Sara Young has 12 kills while sophomore right side hitter Sara Walkiewicz added five service aces and 11 digs. Sophomore outside hitter Krystol Kessack had eight kills and junior middle hitter Becky Falk had seven kills.

Vs. Widener University – Won 3-0

The Lady Greyhounds took a step closer to another trip to the MAC Playoffs with a 15-3, 15-8, 15-8 victory over Widener University. Senior outside hitter Amy Sandt had 12 kills and 18 digs while senior setter Kaitie Kramer added 28 assists. Junior defensive specialists Emily Shonk and Natalie Balaziuk added three service aces and 14 digs and four aces and six digs respectively. Junior middle hitter Sara Young had seven kills while sophomore outside hitter Krystol Kessack had six kills and ten digs.

Vs. Richard Stockton College of New Jersey – Won 3-1

Senior outside hitter Amy Sandt had 25 kills and 32 digs to lead the Lady Greyhounds to a 15-10, 9-15, 15-6, 15-12 victory over Richard Stockton, which was ranked eighth in the region. Senior setter Kaitie Kramer added 56 assists, 17 digs and eight kills whiel junior middle hitter Becky Falk had 15 kills. Sophomore opposite hitter Sara Walkiewicz made 18 digs and six blocks and junior defensive specialist Natalie Balaziuk added 20 digs and four service aces.

At Trinity (TX) University Fall Classic – Lost to Thomas More (KY) College, 3-1

Senior outside hitter Amy Sandt had 14 kills and 15 digs as the Lady Greyhounds lost their second straight match at the Trinity Fall Classic, losing to Thomas More (KY) College, 11-15, 8-15, 15-11, 9-15. Senior setter Kaitie Kramer had 42 assists while junior middle hitter Sara Young has two blocks. Junior defensive specialist Emily Shonk added two service aces.

At Trinity (TX) University Fall Classic – Lost to Cal Lutheran University, 3-0

Moravian ended the Trinity Fall Classic with a 1-3 record after a 6-15, 1-15, 9-15 loss to Cal Lutheran University. Senior outside hitter Amy Sandt had seven kills, 12 digs and two service aces in the match while senior setter Kaitie Kramer added 19 assists.

At Trinity (TX) University Fall Classic – Defeated McMurray (TX) University, 3-0

The Lady Greyhounds opened the Trinity Fall Classic with a 15-12, 15-3, 15-13 victory over McMurray (TX) University. Junior middle hitters Becky Falk and Sara Young each had nine kills in the match. Falk added two blocks while senior outside hitter Amy Sandt had 19 digs. Senior setter Kaitie Kramer added 32 assists and junior defensive specialist Natalie Balaziuk had four service aces.

At Trinity (TX) University Fall Classic – Lost to Trinity (TX) University, 3-0

Moravian dropped a match to the host school, Trinity (TX) University, in the Trinity Fall Classic, 7-15, 9-15, 6-15. Senior outside hitter Amy Sandt led the Lady Greyhounds with six kills and nine digs while senior setter Kaitie Kramer had 24 assists. Sophomore right side hitter Sara Walkiewicz added three service aces.

Vs. Albright College – Won 3-0

Senior outside hitter Amy Sandt had seven services aces and nine kills to lead the Lady Greyhounds, ranked fifth in the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional Poll, to a 15-5, 15-2, 15-4 victory over Albright College. Senior setter Kaitie Kramer had 23 assists and four aces while junior middle hitter Becky Falk had seven kills. The Lady Greyhounds had 19 service aces in the three games.

At Lycoming College – Won 3-0

Behind 12 kills from senior outside hitter Amy Sandt and junior middle hitter Becky Falk and 11 kills from junior middle hitter Sara Young, the Moravian College women’s volleyball team earned a 15-4, 15-3, 15-12 victory over Lycoming College in Middle Atlantic Conference action Saturday. Senior setter Kaitie Kramer had 38 assists and 14 digs in match.

At Lebanon Valley College - Won 3-0

Senior outside hitter Amy Sandt had 15 kills and eight digs and senior setter Kaitie Kramer added 35 assists and 3 aces to lift the Lady Greyhounds to a 15-7, 15-12, 15-5 over Lebanon Valley. Juniors Emily Shonk and Natalie Balaziuk each had 11 digs and five aces in the match while junior middle hitter Becky Falk added 10 kills.

At University of Scranton - Won 3-1

Senior outside hitter Amy Sandt had 22 kills and 18 digs to lead the Lady Greyhounds to a 14-16, 15-8, 15-10, 15-6 victory over the University of Scranton. Senior setter Kaitie Kramer had 54 assists, 12 digs and seven kills while sophomore outside hitter Sara Walkiewicz added 21 digs and seven kills. Junior middle hitter Becky Falk made 15 kills and four blocks while junior outside hitter Kendra Insley had 14 kills and 10 digs.

Vs. Elizabethtown College – Won 3-0

The Lady Greyhounds won their first home match of the 1999 season, defeating Elizabethtown College 15-2, 15-6, 15-2. Senior Amy Sandt has 12 kills and 11 digs in the match. Senior Kaitie Kramer added 25 assists and six digs while sophomore Sara Walkiewicz had six service aces and five digs. Junior Rebecca Falk added nine kills.

Vs. Juniata College – Lost 3-0

The women’s volleyball team dropped its opening MAC Commonwealth Conference match to Juniata College, 13-15, 6-15, 11-15, in a match played at Susquehanna University. The win was the 217th straight for Juniata in MAC play. Senior Amy Sandt had six kills and seven digs while classmate Kaitie Kramer added 16 assists and three service aces. Junior Becky Falk had four kills and two blocks.

Vs. Salisbury State University – Won 3-0, vs. Mary Washington College – Won 3-0 & vs. University of Scranton – Won 3-0 at Gettysburg College Battlefield Classic

The Lady Greyhounds captured the championship of the Blue Medal Division of the Gettysburg College Battlefield Classic with a trio of wins, defeating Salisbury State University, 15-8, 15-13, 15-9, Mary Washington College, 15-9, 15-7, 15-9 and the University of Scranton, 3-15, 15-13, 15-17, 15-4, 15-9. Senior Amy Sandt was named to the All-Tournament Team and had 30 kills, 51 digs and nine blocks in the three matches. Senior Kaitie Kramer added 94 assists and 36 digs. Junior Becky Falk had 29 kills and 11 blocks on the day.

Vs. Gallaudet University – Lost 3-2 & vs. Eastern Mennonite University – Won 3-0 at Gettysburg College Battlefield Classic

The Lady Greyhounds split a pair of matches in the opening day of the Gettysburg College Battlefield Classic, losing to Gallaudet University 15-9, 15-8, 6-15,8-15, 15-10 and defeating Eastern Mennonite University 15-6, 15-4, 15-4. Junior Sara Young had 19 kills and 12 blocks in the two matches while senior Amy Sandt had 17 kills and 17 digs. Senior Kaitie Kramer added 58 assists.

At Muhlenberg – Won 3-0

The Lady Greyhounds opened the 1999 season with a 16-14, 15-7, 15-11 victory over arch-rival Muhlenberg College. Junior Sara Young had 10 kills and seven blocks while classmate Becky Falk had eight kills and seven blocks. Senior Kaitie Kramer had 26 assists while sophomore Sara Walkiewicz had eight kills.
