The Moravian College women’s volleyball team saw its 2009 season come to a close with a 25-17, 25-23, 25-16 loss at Goucher College in the 2009 Landmark Conference Quarterfinals Wednesday night. The Greyhounds were the fifth seed in the tournament while the Gophers are the fourth seed and will now play top seed Juniata College in the Semifinals on Saturday, November 7th.
Junior middle blocker Mary King, pictured, led Moravian with nine kills, seven blocks and three digs while sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete had six kills. Sophomore setter Kristin Hannings contributed a team high 14 assists to go with six kills, five digs and two blocks while junior middle blocker Christine Reeser had three kills and three blocks. Freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite had three kills, four digs and two blocks while junior setter Christine Poole had six assists while freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasley had a team high 11 digs for the Greyhounds to go with three kills. Sophomore defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had nine digs and a service ace while junior defensive specialist Katie Kercher had six digs. Freshman outside hitter JeanAnne Carey added four digs.
Megan Smith led Goucher with 17 kills, 18 digs and two services while Catie Ditmore had seven kills, ten digs, a service and a service ace. Claire Sauvage-Mar led the Gophers with 31 assists, 16 digs, three service aces and four blocks while Rebecca Schaefer added 17 digs.

The Moravian College women’s volleyball team won its final match of the regular season, posting a 17-25, 25-21, 25-13, 25-18 victory over York College of Pennsylvania in the last contest of a tri-match in Breidegam Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete led the Greyhounds with nine kills, two digs and a block while junior middle blocker Mary King, pictured, had eight kills, a match high nine service aces, the most in school history for a four-set match, four blocks and two digs. Junior middle blocker Christine Reeser had six kills and a dig for Moravian while sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey added five kills and two digs. Junior setter Christine Poole had a team high 24 assists with four digs and two blocks while freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasley had 14 digs, three kills and a service ace for the Greyhounds. Sophomore defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had a team high 15 digs for Moravian along with a kill while junior defensive specialist Katie Kercher had nine digs, a kill and a service aces. Sophomore setter Kristin Hannings had nine digs while freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite had four kills and two digs.
Alishia Waltermyer led York with 13 kills and a block while Alysse Beshore had 11 kills and eight blocks. Cortni Rentzel had 35 assists, nine digs and three service aces for the Spartans while Ashley Rineman had a match high 18 digs.

Sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete contributed ten kills and three digs for Moravian while junior middle blocker Christine Reeser had seven kills and two blocks. Freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite contributed nine kills while sophomore outisde hitter Katie Moquete had eight kills and two blocks for Moravian. Junior defnesive specialist Katie Kercher posted a match high 13 digs while freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasley had eight digs and two kills. Sophomore setter Kristin Hannings had seven digs, six assists, a pair of service aces and a kill for the Greyhounds while sophomore defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt added five digs and two service aces. Sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete, pictured, led the Greyhounds with a match high 15 kills and nine digs while freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite had ten kills, three blocks and a pair of digs. Junior middle blocker Mary King also had ten kills for Moravian to go with four digs and two sercice aces while freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasley contributed eight kills, a team high 15 digs and three service aces. Junior middle blocker Christine Reeser had seven kills and a pair of blocks while junior setter Christine Poole led the Greyhounds with 34 assists, 12 digs, two service aces and two kills. Sophomore setter Kristin Hannings had three assists, seven digs and a pair of service aces while junior defensive specialist Katie Kercher added 12 digs. Sophomore defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had nine digs and two service aces for Moravian.
Cailin McCullion had 11 kills and 15 digs to lead Misericordia while Krystal Burford had eight kills. Shannon Kane had a match high 18 digs for the Cougars to go with four kills and two service aces while Kristin Hoffman added 21 assists, seven kills, three digs and two service aces.
