            The Moravian College women’s volleyball team saw its 2009 season come to a close with a 25-17, 25-23, 25-16 loss at Goucher College in the 2009 Landmark Conference Quarterfinals Wednesday night. The Greyhounds were the fifth seed in the tournament while the Gophers are the fourth seed and will now play top seed Juniata College in the Semifinals on Saturday, November 7th.
            Junior middle blocker Mary King, pictured, led Moravian with nine kills, seven blocks and three digs while sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete had six kills. Sophomore setter Kristin Hannings contributed a team high 14 assists to go with six kills, five digs and two blocks while junior middle blocker Christine Reeser had three kills and three blocks. Freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite had three kills, four digs and two blocks while junior setter Christine Poole had six assists while freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasley had a team high 11 digs for the Greyhounds to go with three kills. Sophomore defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had nine digs and a service ace while junior defensive specialist Katie Kercher had six digs. Freshman outside hitter JeanAnne Carey added four digs.

            The Moravian College women’s volleyball team won its final match of the regular season, posting a 17-25, 25-21, 25-13, 25-18 victory over York College of Pennsylvania in the last contest of a tri-match in Breidegam Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon.
            Sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete led the Greyhounds with nine kills, two digs and a block while junior middle blocker Mary King, pictured, had eight kills, a match high nine service aces, the most in school history for a four-set match, four blocks and two digs. Junior middle blocker Christine Reeser had six kills and a dig for Moravian while sophomore outside hitter JeanAnne Carey added five kills and two digs. Junior setter Christine Poole had a team high 24 assists with four digs and two blocks while freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasley had 14 digs, three kills and a service ace for the Greyhounds. Sophomore defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had a team high 15 digs for Moravian along with a kill while junior defensive specialist Katie Kercher had nine digs, a kill and a service aces. Sophomore setter Kristin Hannings had nine digs while freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite had four kills and two digs.

            Freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite, pictured, led the Greyhounds with 15 kills and four blocks, while junior middle blocker Mary King had 13 kills, four blocks and two service aces. Sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete contributed ten kills and three digs for Moravian while junior middle blocker Christine Reeser had seven kills and two blocks.             Junior middle blocker Mary King led the Greyhounds with a match high ten kills to go with a pair of service aces while junior setter Christine Poole, pictured, had a match high 20 assists along with five service aces, four digs and a pair of kills. Freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite contributed nine kills while sophomore outisde hitter Katie Moquete had eight kills and two blocks for Moravian. Junior defnesive specialist Katie Kercher posted a match high 13 digs while freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasley had eight digs and two kills. Sophomore setter Kristin Hannings had seven digs, six assists, a pair of service aces and a kill for the Greyhounds while sophomore defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt added five digs and two service aces.             The Moravian College women’s volleyball team snapped a four-match losing streak with a 25-23, 22-25, 25-16, 25-22 win at Misericordia University in non-conference action Thursday evening.
            Sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete, pictured, led the Greyhounds with a match high 15 kills and nine digs while freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite had ten kills, three blocks and a pair of digs. Junior middle blocker Mary King also had ten kills for Moravian to go with four digs and two sercice aces while freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasley contributed eight kills, a team high 15 digs and three service aces. Junior middle blocker Christine Reeser had seven kills and a pair of blocks while junior setter Christine Poole led the Greyhounds with 34 assists, 12 digs, two service aces and two kills. Sophomore setter Kristin Hannings had three assists, seven digs and a pair of service aces while junior defensive specialist Katie Kercher added 12 digs.             The Moravian College women’s volleyball team finished its 2009 Landmark Conference season with a 25-10, 25-21, 25-15 loss to second-ranked Juniata College in the final match of the second Landmark Conference Round Robin Weekend hosted by The Catholic University of America. With the loss, Moravian's fourth straight, the Greyhounds will be the fifth seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament and travel to Goucher College on Wednesday, November 4th for the first round of the tournament at a time to be determined.
            Freshman right side hitter Samanta Savite, pictured, led the Greyhounds with six kills and a block while sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete had four kills, two blocks and a dig. Junior middle blocker Christine Reeser also added four kills and a block while junior middle blocker Mary King had three kills and five blocks. Moravian had a 5-0 lead in the first game before USMMA rallied, and the Greyhounds would hold a 10-0 lead in the second set.

            The Moravian College women’s volleyball team lost its opening match at the 2009 Spartan Best Western Westgate Invitational, falling to host York College of Pennsylvania, 25-22, 25-14, 21-25, 25-13.
            Sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete, pictured, led the Greyhounds with seven kills, six digs and six blocks in the match while junior middle blocker Mary King added six kills and six blocks. Freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite had six kills in the match while freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasley had four kills and eight digs. Junior setter Christine Poole paced the Moravian offense with 27 assists to go with a team high 13 digs while sophomore setter Kristin Hannings had nine digs. Junior middle blocker Christine Reeser had two kills and a pair of blocks before leaving the match with an injury. Junior defensive specialist Katie Kercher had five digs while sophomore defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt added six digs.
          Alysse Beshore led York with 15 kills and three service aces while Alishia Waltermyer had 12 kills and two blocks.

            The Moravian College women’s volleyball team dropped a 25-18, 25-20, 24-26, 25-14 decision to DeSales University in a non-conference match in Johnston Hall Wednesday evening.
            Junior middle blocker Mary King, pictured, had a match high 15 kills to go with three blocks for Moravian while sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete added 14 kills, five digs and two blocks.  Junior middle blocker Christine Reeser had eight kills for the Greyhounds while freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite had seven kills.  Junior right side hitter Molly DuVall added six kills and six digs while freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasleyhad 12 digs, three kills and three assists.  Junior setter Christine Poole led the Moravian offense with 32 assists to go with three digs while sophomore setter Kristen Hannings added 13 assists and five digs.  Junior defensive specialist Katie Kercher had 11 digs for the Greyhounds while sophomore defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt contributed ten digs.  Freshman outside hitter JeanAnne Carey has two kills and two digs in the match.
            Sophomore right side hitter/outside hitter Lauren Hickey led DeSales with ten kills while junior middle hitter Kylie Fehnel added seven kills and 12 digs.  Freshman middle hitter Paige Horrigan contributed seven kills and a match high seven blocks for the Bulldogs while senior outside hitter Jen Mellon had six kills and two blocks.  Senior libero Kerri Andrews had a match high 19 digs for DeSales while freshman setter Justine McNulty had 29 assists, 15 digs and five kills.

Vs. Elizabethtown College at Susquehanna University Annual Crossover Quad Match – Lost 3-2 - Box Score

            The Moravian College women’s volleyball team had its three-match winning streak snapped with a 27-25, 23-25, 25-16, 18-25, 15-7 loss to Elizabethtown College in the second round of the Susquehanna University Annual Crossover Quad Match Friday evening.
            Freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite had a career high 14 kills to lead the Greyhounds, and she added three blocks and four digs. Sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete, pictured, contributed 13 kills, three service aces and six digs while junior middle blocker Mary King had eight kills and a pair of blocks in the match. Junior right side hitter Molly DuVall added five kills, three digs and three blocks while junior setter Christine Poole had a season high 32 assists to go along with ten digs and three service aces. Sophomore setter Kristin Hannings had 18 assists and eight digs while freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasley had a team high 16 digs to go with four kills. Junior middle blocker Christine Reeser also had four kills with three blocks while junior defensive specialist Katie Kercher added 13 digs. Sophomore defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt contributed nine digs in the match.
           Paige Tanner led Elizabethtown with 18 kills and 29 digs while Kayla Deats had 14 kills. Lindsay Palm added ten kills for the Blue Jays while Crystal Agnew added 47 assists, 18 digs and five kills.

            The Moravian College women’s volleyball team posted its third straight sweep, defeating Messiah College, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21 in the first round of the Susquehanna University Annual Crossover Quad Match Friday evening.
            Junior middle blocker Mary King, pictured, led the Greyhounds with eight kills and six blocks while freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite added seven kills and six blocks in the victory. Sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete had six kills and three digs for Moravian while freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasley added a team high ten digs with four kills. Junior right side hitter Molly DuVall also contributed four kills and three blocks in the match while junior middle blocker Christine Reeser had five blocks.            The Moravian College women’s volleyball team swept its second straight match, defeating Gwynedd-Mercy College, 25-18, 25-10, 25-10 in non-conference action in Johnston Hall Wednesday evening.
            Sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete and junior middle blocker Mary King each had six kills to lead Moravian with Moquete adding a team high eight digs and King contributing two blocks.  Freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite had five kills while freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasley added four kills, four service aces and three digs.  Junior setter Christine Poole, pictured, led the Greyhounds with 14 assists to go with a pair of service aces and three digs while sophomore setter Kristin Hannings had ten assists, four service aces and five digs.  Junior middle blocker Christine Reeser and freshman outside hitter JeanAnne Carey each had three kills and three digs with Carey adding a pair of service aces.  Junior defensive specialist Katie Kercher added four digs.
            Freshman opposite hitter Kelsey Craig led Gwynedd-Mercy with three kills and five digs while freshman setter Kristen Gambone had nine assists for the Griffins.

            The Moravian College women's volleyball team finished its trip to the Buttermaker Tournament hosted by Muhlenberg College with a 25-21, 25-7, 25-18 victory over Neumann University, snapping a three-match losing streak.
            Sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete and freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite each had a team high seven kills in the match with Moquete adding five digs and Savite contributing three blocks. Junior middle blocker Mary King, pictured, had six kills, four blocks and three service aces while junior middle blocker Christine Reeser added five kills. Freshman outside hitter JeanAnne Carey also had five kills. Junior right side hitter Molly DuVall had three kills while freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasley had three kills and three digs. Sophomore setter Kristine hannings had a team high 16 assists to go with two kills while junior setter Christine Poole had ten assists and two service aces. Junior setter Christine Poole had 12 assists for Moravian while sophomore setter Kristin Hannings added a team high seven digs to go with six assists.             Sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete had a match high 14 kills for the Greyhounds to go along with six digs and three service aces while freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite added eight kills. Junior right side hitter Molly DuVall, pictured, contributed four kills and four blocks while junior middle blocker Mary King had four kills and four blocks.             Freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite added seven kills and three blocks for the Greyhounds while junior middle blocker Mary King added six kills and a team high eight blocks.  Junior right side hitter Molly DuVall contributed five kills and four blocks while junior middle blocker Christine Reeser added four kills and three blocks.  Freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasley had a team high 21 digs for Moravian to go with two kills while junior setter Christine Poole added a team high 20 assists.  Sophomore setter Kristin Hannings contributed 13 assists while junior defensive specialist Katie Kercher had 13 digs.  Sophomore defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt added 12 digs in the victory for the Greyhounds.

            Sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete, who earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team, and freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite each had a team high nine kills for the Greyhounds. Junior middle blocker Mary King added eight kills and five digs while freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasley added six kills and nine digs. Junior setter Christine Poole led Moravian with 23 assists to go with eight digs and three kills while sophomore setter Kristin Hannings had ten assists and seven digs. Junior defensive specialist Katie Kercher had a team high ten digs for the Greyhounds while sophomore defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt added nine digs. Junior middle blocker Christine Reeser and freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasley each had eight kills and three service aces in the victory with Krasley adding eight digs. Freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite had seven kills while junior right side hitter Molly DuVall had six kills and six digs for Moravian. Sophomore setter Kristin Hannings had 22 assists and four digs while junior setter Christine Poole had 21 assists, eight digs and a pair of kills for the Greyhounds.             The Moravian College women's volleyball team began its 2009 season with a 3-1 victory over Swarthmore College Tuesday evening. The Greyhounds dropped the first set, 16-25, before winning the next three by two points each, 25-23, 26-24 and 25-23.
            Sophomore outside hitter Katie Moquete led Moravian with 12 kills to go with five digs while junior middle blocker Mary King contributed ten kills, seven blocks and three digs. Freshman outside hitter Jesse Krasley had nine kills, nine digs and three blocks in her collegiate debut while freshman right side hitter Samantha Savite had five kills and five digs. Junior setter Christine Poole led the Greyhounds with 18 assists and ten digs while sophomore setter Kristin Hannings had 11 assists and six digs.
