Vs. Susquehanna University - Lost 12-3

The Greyhounds closed out their inaugural NCAA varsity season with a 12-3 loss to Susquehanna University in Middle Atlantic Conference action at East Hills Middle School in Bethlehem. Moravian scored the first goal of the match and trailed just 3-1 at halftime before the Crusaders scored seven goals in the first 13 minutes of the second half to take control of the contest. Freshman defender/midfielder Jess Cordani scored the Greyhounds' first goal, and she added an assist. Freshman midfielder Shannon Kelly and junior midfielder/defender Kaity Cerco each tallied goals for Moravian. Freshman goalie Chelsea Marshall had 25 saves for the Greyhounds.

At FDU-Florham - Lost 8-6

Moravian dropped its final road match of the 2003 season, falling to FDU-Florham, 8-6, in Middle Atlantic Conference action. The Greyhounds had a 5-4 lead at halftime and led by as many as three goals in the first half but Moravian was unable to hold on for its first NCAA victory. Freshman midfielder Shannon Kelly netted three goals and added an assist for the Greyhounds while junior midfielder Kaity Cerco had two goals. Sophomore attack/midfielder Hayley Zamek contributed a goal and an assist while sophomore defender Amy Kranchalk had one assist for Moravian. Freshman goalie Chelsea Marshall made 14 saves for the Greyhounds.

At Gwynedd Mercy College - Lost 9-6

The Greyhounds lost a 9-6 decision to Gwynedd Mercy College in their final non-conference contest of the year. Freshman midfielder Jess Cordani led Moravian with three goals and an assist while junior attack/defender Lindsay Murphy tallied a goal and two assists. Junior midfielder Kaity Cerco and sophomore attack/midfielder Hayley Zamek each had one goal and one assist in the match while sophomore midfielder Michelle Dougherty had one assist. Freshman goalie Chelsea Marshall made 22 saves for the Greyhounds.

Vs. Wilkes University - Lost 8-7

Moravian dropped an 8-7 Middle Atlantic Conference decision to Wilkes University at East Hills Middle School. Both the Greyhounds and the Colonels are in their first season of NCAA varsity women's lacrosse. Freshman midfielder Jess Cordani scored two goals for Moravian while freshman midfielder Shannon Kelly had a goal and an assist. Senior midfielder Erica Miller, junior midfielder/defender Kaity Cerco, junior attack/defender Lindsay Murphy and sophomore attack/midfielder Hayley Zamek each scored a goal for Moravian. Senior defender Celeste Adamski added an assist. Freshman goalie Chelsea Marshall made 15 saves in the contest.

The Greyhounds lost a 12-3 Middle Atlantic Conference match at Lycoming College. Moravian trailed 5-1 at halftime. Freshmen midfielders Jess Cordani and Shannon Kelly and senior defender Celeste Adamski each scored unassisted goals for the Greyhounds. Freshman goalie Chelsea Marshall had 23 saves in the match.

The Greyhounds lost a 23-3 decision to Drew University in Middle Atlantic Conference action at East Hills Middle School. Junior midfielder Kaity Cerco scored two unassisted goals for Moravian while freshman midfielder Jess Cordani added one unassisted tally. Freshman goalie Chelsea Marshall made 16 saves in the match for the Greyhounds.

Moravian dropped an 11-5 decision to King's College in Middle Atlantic Conference action. The Greyhounds trailed just 6-5 at halftime. SophomOre attack/midfielder Hayley Zamek netted two goals for the Greyhounds while junior attack/defender Lindsay Murphy had a goal and an assist. Freshman midfielder Shannon Kelly and sophomore midfielder Michelle Dougherty scored Moravian's other goals while sophomore defender/midfielder Kristen Granato added two assists. Freshman goalie Chelsea Marshall made 15 saves in the match.

The Greyhounds lost a Middle Atlantic Conference match to the University of Scranton, 21-0. Moravian had just three shots in the game while the Royals took 37 shots. Freshman goalie Chelsea Marshall had 14 saves in the match for the Greyhounds.

Vs. Alvernia College - Lost 9-6

Moravian dropped its fourth straight varsity match, falling to Alvernia College, 9-6, in a non-conference contest played at East Hills Middle School in Bethlehem. The Greyhounds trailed, 7-2, at halftime after a pair of first half goals by freshman midfielder/defender Jess Cordani. Freshman midfielder Shannon Kelly added a goal and two assists in the second half while junior attack Lindsay Murphy, senior midfielder Erica Miller and sophomore attack/midfielder Hayley Zamek each scored second half goals. Freshman Chelsea Marshall made ten saves in goal for the Greyhounds.

Vs. Elizabethtown College - Lost 17-6

The Greyhounds played for the first time in two weeks and dropped a 17-6 decision to Elizabethtown College in a Middle Atlantic Conference match played at Scotty Wood Stadium in Allentown. Elizabethtown had a 9-2 lead at halftime and led by as many as 13 in the second half. Freshman midfielder Shannon Kelly scored four unassisted goals to lead Moravian while freshman midfielder Jess Cordani and junior attack Lindsay Murphy each had unassisted tallies. Freshman goalie Chelsea Marshall made 16 saves in the contest.

Vs. Susquehanna University - Postponed until April 24th

Moravian has postponed its 2003 home opener with Susquehanna University scheduled for Thursday, March 20th due to poor field conditions. The match has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 24th at 4:00 p.m.

 

At Gwynedd-Mercy College - Postponed Until April 21st

The Greyhounds non-conference match at Gwynedd-Mercy College has been cancelled due to the poor condition of the playing surface. The match has been rescheduled for Monday, April 21st at 4:00 p.m.

 

At Mesisah College - Lost 22-2

Moravian played its first-ever Middle Atlantic Conference match and dropped a 22-2 decision at Messiah College. Freshman midfielder Shannon Kelly and junior attack Lindsay Murphy each scored goals for the Greyhounds while junior midfielder Kaity Cerco added an assist. Freshman goalie Chelsea Marshall made 14 saves in the contest.

The Greyhounds non-conference match at Haverford College has been cancelled due to snow and ice on the playing surface.

 

At Muhlenberg College - Lost 20-1

Moravian played its first-ever NCAA women's lacrosse match and suffered a 20-1 loss to Muhlenberg College in its season opener. The Mules, celebrating their 20th varsity season, led 13-0 at halftime. The Greyhounds goal was scored by attack junior Lindsay Murphy, 29 seconds into the second half. Freshman midfielder Shannon Kelly assisted on the tally, and she had three of Moravian's four shots in the match. Freshman goalie Chelsea Marshall had 18 saves for the Greyhounds in the contest.
