Moravian closed out its 2007 season with a 21-9 loss at King's College in Middle Atlantic Conference action. The Monarchs held a 14-7 advantage on the scoreboard at halftime, and King's had a 41-26 edge in shots, a 21-19 advantage in ground balls and a 21-14 edge in draw controls. Moravian senior attack Lindsey Lustrino had four goals and an assist in her final collegiate match to lead the Greyhounds. Lustrino finishes her career with school records of 164 goals, 20 assists and 184 points, and she had three ground balls in the match against King's to tie the school career record with 169. Junior midfielder Casey Simpson and freshman attack Kayla Carson each had two goals in the match for the Greyhounds while junior midfielder Erica Spatz had a goal and an assist. Spatz added four draw controls for Moravian while junior midfielder Robyn Klem had four ground balls, four draw controls and four caused turnovers in the match. Freshman goalie Katie Wise had 12 saves for the Greyhounds. Lindsay Sabo led King's with five goals and four assists while Sara Alesso had four goals. Sarah Veneski contributed three goals and two assists for the Monarchs while Reanna Lachner had three goals and an assist. Melissa Gates also scored three goals for King's while Heather Kelly posted 11 saves in goal.

Vs. Centenary (NJ) College - Lost 16-15 (overtime)      Boxscore

The Greyhounds dropped their final non-conference match of the season, falling to Centenary (NJ) College, 16-15 in overtime, on the HUB Quad. Moravian scored first but the Cyclones scored the next three goals for a 3-1 lead. The Greyhounds responded to build a 5-4 advantage and the teams were tied at 7-7 at the intermission. In the second half, neither team could take more than a two-goal lead with Moravian scoring with just over a minute left in regulation on a goal by freshman midfielder Paige Warbrick to tie the score at 14-14 and force overtime. Centenary scored two quick goals in the six-minute overtime session while the Greyhounds could score just once. The Cyclones had a 43-41 advantage in shots and a 19-15 edge in draw controls while Moravian had a slight 33-31 edge in ground balls. Junior midfielder Casey Simpson led the Greyhounds in scoring with a career high four goals to go with an assist. Senior attack Lindsey Lustrino and junior midfielder Erica Spatz each had hat tricks for Moravian while Warbrick contributed two goals and an assist. Freshman attack Kayla Carson added a goal and an assist in the match. Freshman midfielder Lynda Kauffman and freshman attack Jillian Pagliei each found the back of the cage once for the Greyhounds while junior midfielder Robyn Klem had an assist. Spatz led Moravian with four draw controls while freshman midfielder Kelly Daly had five ground balls. Greyhound freshman goalie Katie Wise made 14 saves in the match, and she had a team high six ground balls. Moravian had its two-match winning streak snapped in a 17-5 loss at FDU-Florham in Middle Atlantic Conference action. The contest was moved up one day ahead of the scheduled date of April 24th because of a conflict on the FDU-Florham campus. The Devils led 11-2 at halftime and finished the contest with a 37-12 advantage in shots, a 13-10 edge in ground balls and a 17-7 advantage in draw controls. The Greyhounds had five different players score a goal with senior attack Lindsey Lustrino, junior midfielder Casey Simpson, freshman midfielder Paige Warbrick and freshmen attack Kayla Carson and Jillian Pagliei each scoring once. Junior midfielder Robyn Klem had a team high three ground balls for Moravian while Klem and Lustrino each had two draw controls and two caused turnovers. Greyhound freshman goalie Katie Wise had 13 saves in the contest. Amanda Wayne led FDU-Florham with four goals and an assist while Erin Reilly added three goals and an assist. Lindsey Specht found the back of the cage three times while Caroline Garguilo, Laura Gambardello and Linda Bohn each scored twice with Carguilo adding an assist. Erika Sensbach contributed a goal and three assists in the contest. Christine Dunn made four saves in goal for the Devils.

The Greyhounds won their second straight match and first Middle Atlantic Conference contest of the season with a 19-5 victory over Wilkes University on the HUB Quad. Moravian had a 10-3 lead at halftime. The Greyhounds posted a 48-12 advantage in shots, a 39-17 edge in ground balls and a 17-9 advantage in draw controls. Senior attack Lindsey Lustrino set school records for Moravian in the match with nine goals and ten points, raising her school career record totals to 156 goals, 19 assists and 175 points. Lustrino also had team highs of five ground balls and four caused turnovers to go with four draw controls. Freshman midfielder Paige Warbick added two goals and an assist while junior midfielder Casey Simpson and freshman midfielder Kelly Daly each found the back of the cage twice. Junior midfielder Erica Spatz and sophomore attack Georgia Castellano each had a goal and two assists while freshman midfielder Lynda Kauffman and freshman attack Jillian Pagliei each had a goal and an assist for the Greyhounds. Freshman attack Kayla Carson has an assist for Moravian while Spatz led the squad with seven draw controls to go with five ground balls. Freshman Katie Wise started in goal for the Greyhounds, making three saves in 45 and a half minutes. Senior Jenna Abramson played the rest of the game and did not face a shot. Ashley Leggio led Wilkes with a pair of goals while Stacy Fimmano, Justine Leggio and Chelsea Weinstein each found the back of the cage once. Moravian won its first match of the season, defeating Cedar Crest College, 19-4, in non-conference action. The Greyhounds scored the first six goals of the contest and led 11-1 at halftime. Moravian had a 39-20 advantage in shots, a 27-23 edge in ground balls and a 14-11 edge in draw controls in the match. Senior attack Lindsey Lustrino led the Greyhounds with three goals and an assist to raise her school record career totals to 147 goals, 18 assists and 165 points. Freshman attack Kayla Carson netted her first career hat trick for Moravian while junior midfielder Erica Spatz, freshman midfielder Paige Warbrick and freshman attack Jillian Pagliei each found the back of the cage twice. Freshman midfielder Brittany Deiling scored her first collegiate goal to go with an assist while freshman goalie/defender Katie Wise had a goal and an assist in her first action outside of the cage this season. Sophomore attack Georgia Castellano added a goal and an assist for the Greyhounds while freshman midfielder Kelly Daly, sophomore attack Jessica Bodine, freshman midfielder Lynda Kauffman and junior midfielder Casey Simpson each scored one goal. Lustrino and senior defender Nicole Dodd each had four ground balls to lead Moravian while Spatz had a team high three draw controls. Wise did play the first half of the match in goal, making five saves for her first collegiate win. Senior Jenna Abramson played the final 30 minutes in the cage with three saves in her first collegiate action in goal. Kirsten Gustafson scored three of the Falcons' four goals while Devin Ursini made ten saves.

The Greyhounds suffered a 17-8 loss to Drew University in a Middle Atlantic Conference match on the HUB Quad. Moravian trailed just 7-3 with seven minutes remaining; however, the Rangers ran off six goals to end the half and nine in a row overall to build a 16-3 lead. Drew had a 34-22 advantage in shots and a 9-6 edge in draw controls while Moravian had a 17-14 advantage in ground balls. Senior attack Lindsey Lustrino led the Greyhounds with three goals and an assist to raise her school record career totals to 144 goals, 17 assists and 161 points. Lustrino has had team highs of four caused turnovers and three draw controls to go with three ground balls. Junior midfielder Erica Spatz found the back of the cage twice and added a team high four ground balls while freshman midfielder Lynda Kauffman had a goal and an assist. Junior midfielder Casey Simpson and freshman attack Jillian Pagliei each scored for Moravian while freshmen midfielder Paige Warbrick and attack Kayla Carson each had an assist. Warbrick added four ground balls while freshman goalie Katie Wise made 13 saves for the Greyhounds. Courtney Cunningham had four goals and six assists to lead Drew while Alexandra Bailly added four goals and two assists. Moravian dropped an 18-6 decision at 16th-ranked Lycoming College in Middle Atlantic Conference action. The Warriors scored the first five goals of the match and led 12-4 at halftime. Lycoming had a 33-24 advantage in shots and an 18-8 edge in draw controls while Moravian had a 33-31 edge in ground balls. Senior attack Lindsay Lustrino led the Greyhounds with two goals and two assists to raise her school record career totals to 141 goals, 16 assists and 157 points. Junior midfielder Erica Spatz added two goals for Moravian to go with a team high six ground balls while freshman midfielder Paige Warbrick and junior midfielder Robyn Klem each found the back of the cage once. The Greyhounds fell to The University of Scranton, 18-13, in a Middle Atlantic Conference match on the HUB Quad. The Royals scored an early 1-0 lead only to see the Greyhounds take a 2-1 lead in the fourth minute of the contest. However, Scranton scored ten of the next 11 goals to head to halftime with an 11-5 lead. Moravian would out score Scranton in the second half, 8-7. The Royals had a 30-27 advantage in shots, an 18-9 edge in ground balls and a 14-13 edge in draw controls in the match. Moravian dropped a 15-8 decision at Widener University in Middle Atlantic Conference action. The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead on the first of four goals by senior attack Lindsay Lustrino, just 42 seconds into the match; however, the Pride scored the next three goals to take the lead for good. Widener led 10-4 at the intermission, and the Pride had a 37-23 advantage in shots and a 26-13 edge in ground balls. Moravian did hold a slight 13-11 edge in draw controls. In addition to Lustrino's four goals, sophomore attack Georgia Castellano added a goal and an assist for the Greyhounds while junior midfielder Casey Simpson, freshman midfielder Paige Warbrick and freshman attack Kayla Carson each found the back of the cage once for Moravian. Lustrino led the Greyhounds with three ground balls while junior midfielder Erica Spatz had five draw controls. Freshman goalie Katie Wise made ten saves for Moravian. The Blue Jays lead 11-0 at halftime and had a 14-0 advantage before Moravian scored on a free position shot by freshman midfielder Lynda Kauffman with just under six minutes remaining in the match. Moravian dropped its first Middle Atlantic Conference match of the 2007 season, falling to Susquehanna University, 16-11, in a match played at Rocco Calvo Field due to poor field conditions on the HUB Quad. The Crusaders jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first 8:20 of the match before Moravian cut the score to 6-3. Susquehanna went into the intermission with an 11-4 lead. Moravian would cut into the lead twice in the second half, eventually pulling within three goals at 14-11 with just under 12 minutes remaining on the clock. However, Susquehanna scored the final two goals to claim the win. The Crusaders had a 37-30 advantage in shots and a 15-14 edge in draw controls while both teams had 31 ground balls. Senior attack Lindsey Lustrino led the Greyhounds with five goals to increase her school record career totals to 124 goals and 136 points. Freshman attack Jillian Pagliei netted her first career hat trick and also had an assist for Moravian while junior midfielder Erica Spatz, sophomore attack Georgia Castellano and freshman attack Kayla Carson each found the back of the cage once. Vs. Susquehanna University - Postponed to March 22nd

Moravian's 2007 Middle Atlantic Conference home opener versus Susquehanna University scheduled for Saturday, March 17th has been postponed due to inclement weather and poor field conditions. It has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 22nd at 4:30 p.m. in Bethlehem and will be played at Rocco Calvo Field on the Sportexe turf field.

At Muhlenberg College - Lost 16-7      Boxscore

The Greyhounds dropped their first road match of the season, falling to rival Muhlenberg College, 16-7, in non-conference action at Scotty Wood Stadium. The Mules scored the first nine goals before Moravian scored on a free position shot by senior attack Lindsey Lustrino in the 16th minute. Muhlenberg then scored the next five goals to go to the intermission with a 14-1 lead. The Greyhounds scored six of the eight goals in the second half. The Mules had a 23-16 advantage in shots, a 25-17 edge in ground balls and a 16-9 advantage in draw controls. Lustrino led Moravian with four goals to boost her school record career total to 119. Junior midfielder Erica Spatz, sophomore attack Georgia Castellano and freshman attack Kayla Carson each found the back of the cage once for the Greyhounds. Lustrino, junior midfielders Robyn Klem and Casey Simpson all had three ground balls for Moravian while senior defender Jenna Abramson led the Greyhounds with three draw controls. Swarthmore finished the contest with a 39-23 advantage in shots, a 26-19 edge in ground balls and a 15-14 edge in draw controls. Senior attack Lindsey Lustrino led Moravian with two goals and an assist as she became the sole holder of the school record for goals in a career with 115. Lustrino also moved into first in school history in career points with 127. Junior midfielder Erica Spatz and freshman midfielder Lynda Kauffman each found the back of the cage twice for the Greyhounds while junior midfielder Robyn Klem and freshman midfielder Paige Warbrick each scored one goal. Freshman Katie Wise made her first collegiate start in goal for Moravian, making 12 saves. Megan Sanborn led Swarthmore with four goals and two assists while Marissa Schaffer netted four goals.
