At Goucher College - Lost 12-9 - Boxscore

           The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team closed out the 2010 season with a 12-9 loss at Goucher College in Landmark Conference action Saturday afternoon.
            The Greyhounds scored the first three goals of the match before four straight goals by the Gophers.  Moravian would add three more goals in the final ten minutes of the half to head to the intermission with a 6-5 lead.  However, Goucher scored the first six goals of the second half to take control of the match.
            Junior midfielder Sarah Carman, pictured at right, led Moravian with three goals, four ground balls and seven draw controls while junior midfielder Maureen Helfers added two goals.  Senior midfielder Katie Wise contributed a goal, four ground balls, three draw controls and three caused turnovers for the Greyhounds while senior attack Paige Warbrick, sophomore attack Allison Hess and junior midfielder Angel Genther each netting one goal.  Freshman attack Erin Connell added an assist for Moravian.
            Attacks Becca Smith and Cindy Villarreal each had three goals to lead Goucher while midfielder Hannah Khin had two goals.  Midfielder Colleen Cole had a goal, three assists and six draw controls for the Gophers while midfielder Emily Roach had a goal and a team high four ground balls.  Attacks Mary Lambert and Andi Lipson each had a goal for Goucher.
            The Gophers had a 34-27 advantage in shots and both teams had 17 ground balls while Moravian had a 14-8 edge in draw controls.  Greyhound senior goalie Courtney Rosenberg had 14 saves and three ground balls while Goucher goalie Gia Thomas had 14 saves and three ground balls.

Vs. Chestnut Hill College - Lost 17-13 - Boxscore

            The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team saw a five-goal halftime lead slip away in a 17-13 non-conference loss versus NCAA Division II Chestnut Hill College Tuesday afternoon on the HUB Quad in the Greyhounds final home game of the 2010 season.
            Senior midfielder Katie Wise, pictured at right, needed just 22 seconds to give the Greyhounds a 1-0 lead, and the Greyhounds pulled ahead 6-5 on a goal from senior midfielder Sarah Carman in the 23rd minute.  Moravian netted the last four goals of the second half to head to the intermission with a 10-5 lead.  The Griffins scored the first three goals to start the final 30 minutes, but the Greyhounds still had a 13-10 lead  with just under 15 minutes remaining on Carman’s fourth goal of the match.  Chestnut hit scored the final seven goals in the contest for the victory.
            Wise led the Moravian with four goals and an assist to go with five draw controls, three ground balls and three caused turnovers while Carman had four goals and four ground balls.  Senior attack Paige Warbrick contributed two goals and an assist for the Greyhounds while junior midfielder Maureen Helfers had a goal and an assist.  Sophomore attack Allison Hess and freshman midfielder Caroline Styslinger had goals for Moravian while senior midfielder Jillian Pagliei added an assist and four ground balls.  Senior defender Brittany Deiling, pictured at left, had four ground balls for the Greyhounds before leaving the match with an injury while junior midfielder Angel Genther added three draw controls.
            Senior midfielder Carley Glass led Chestnut Hill with five goals, an assist, six draw controls, three ground balls and three caused turnovers while freshman attack/midfielder Nicole Covella added four goals and three draw controls.  Senior midfielder Maryanne Glass netted three goals and added two assists while junior midfielder Jillian Sanger had two goals and two assists.  Freshman Christina Squillante added two goals while freshman midfielder Nicole Ehrdhardt had a goal.
            The Griffins had a 42-28 advantage in shots while Moravian had a 24-20 advantage in ground balls and a 16-15 edge in draw controls.  Greyhound senior goalie Courtney Rosenberg had 18 saves and four ground balls.  Sophomore goalie Ashley Hoch came in with 23 minutes to go and had four saves while earning the victory for Chestnut Hill.  Junior goalie Cherise Bell started for the Griffins and made seven saves in 37 minutes of action.

Vs. The Catholic University of America - Lost 20-2 - Boxscore

            The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team dropped its final home Landmark Conference match of the 2010 season, falling to The Catholic University of America, 20-2, on the HUB Quad Saturday afternoon.
            The Cardinals started the scoring midway through the first half and netted the first seven goals on their way to a 10-2 halftime lead.  Catholic then scored all ten goals in the second half.
            Senior attack Paige Warbrick, pictured at right, led the Greyhounds on senior day with a goal and an assist while sophomore attack Allison Hess netted a goal. Senior midfielder Katie Wise had five ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers for Moravian while junior midfielder Sarah Carman caused three turnovers.
            Senior midfielder Kate Narzikul led Catholic with three goals while junior midfielder Kelly Ryan, sophomore midfielder Mallory Vogel and sophomore attack/midfielder Katie Miller each scored twice.  Sophomore midfielder Mary Swarthout added a goal and two assists while senior attack Laura Haring, junior midfielder/defender Christina Rogers and sophomore midfielder/attack Meghan Brady each had a goal and an assist.  Swarthout also led the Cardinals with four ground balls and four draw controls.
            Catholic had a 45-15 advantage in shots, a 27-19 edge in ground balls and a 19-5 advantage in draw controls.  Moravian senior goalie Courtney Rosenberg registered 15 saves and two ground balls while Cardinal senior goalie Melissa Brashear had two saves in 30 minutes to open the match.  Sophomore goalie Gabby Sena added four saves in the second half for Catholic.

Vs. Gwynedd-Mercy College - Won 21-16 - Boxscore

            The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team won its second straight non-conference match, defeating Gwynedd-Mercy College, 21-16, on the Hub Quad Thursday afternoon.
            The Griffins took an early 2-0 lead but back-to-back goals from Greyhounds senior attack Paige Warbrick, pictured at right, tied the score just 7:26 into the match.  Moravian junior midfielder Sarah Carman scored 12 saves later to give the Greyhounds a lead they would not relinquish.  Moravian scored four of the final five goals in the first half to head to the intermission with a 10-6 lead.
            Gwynedd-Mercy pulled within two goals, 13-11, with just under 13 minutes remaining on goal from sophomore attack/midfielder Kerri Boon.  However, Moravian senior midfielder Jillian Pagliei answered 30 seconds later to start a stretch of four goals by the Greyhounds to take control of the match. 
            Carman, pictured at left, led Moravian with six goals and an assist for a career high seven points to go with four draw controls while Warbrick had three goals and a pair of assists for five points to become the fifth player in school history to record 100 career points on 75 goals and a school record 25 assists.  Pagliei contributed three goals and an assist for the Greyhounds while senior midfielder Katie Wise had two goals, two assists, seven grounds balls, five caused turnovers and four draw controls in the win.  Junior midfielder Maureen Helfers added two goals and an assist while freshman midfielder Michelle Palmieri had two goals and three draw controls.
            Sophomore attack Allison Hess netted a goal and had an assist for Moravian while freshmen attack Erin Connell and midfielder Caroline Styslinger each scored a goal.  Junior midfielder Angel Genther contributed four ground balls and three draw controls.
            Sophomore attack/midfielder Shannon Carabba led the Griffins with four goals and an assist while Boon scored three goals.  Junior defender/midfielder Kristie Pollock added two goals and two assists for Gwynedd-Mercy while junior attack Colleen Dellostretto had two goals and an assist to go with four draw controls.  Pollock led the Griffins with five draw controls, four caused turnovers and four ground balls while Carabba had four draw controls.  Sophomore defender Megan Collins had five ground balls.
            Moravian had a 36-32 advantage in shots and a 30-28 edge in ground balls while Gwynedd-Mercy held a 21-19 edge in draw controls.  Greyhound senior goalie Courtney Rosenberg, pictured at right, made 13 saves and four ground balls in the victory while junior keeper Trisha Timony had 18 saves for the Griffins.

At Arcadia University - Won 11-9 - Boxscore

           The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team snapped a three-match losing streak with an 11-9 non-conference victory at Arcadia University Monday afternoon.
            The Greyhounds jumped out to a 2-0 lead, and Moravian had a 4-1 advantage at halftime.  The Knights would score four straight goals midway through the second half to tie the match at 7-7, but the Greyhounds responded with three straight goals with freshman attack Sarah Shostak, pictured at right, netting the game-winning goal with 3:35 to play.
            Senior attack Jillian Pagliei led Moravian with four goals to move into second in school history with 116 career goals while junior midfielder Maureen Helfers netted two goals.  Shostak, senior midfielder Katie Wise, junior midfielder Sarah Carman, senior attack Paige Warbrick and freshman midfielder Caroline Styslinger each had one goal.  Helfers had a four draw controls, two caused turnovers and two ground balls while Carman and junior midfielder Angel Genther each had five ground balls.  Wise, pictured at left, also had five ground balls to become the school record holder with 173 career ground balls.
            Meghan Fallon led Arcadia with three goals while Caitlin Braddock and Stephanie Holguin each had two goals.  Kreena Patel also had two goals for the Knights while Kristen Chase had an assist.  Patel added three draw controls while Kelly Donahue had five ground balls. 
            Moravian had a 32-21 advantage in shots, a 29-18 advantage in ground balls and an 11-8 edge in draw controls.  Greyhound senior goalie Courtney Rosenberg had nine saves while Evelyn Ciaburri had 20 saves for Arcadia.

At The University of Scranton - Lost 18-7 - Boxscore

            The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team fell to The University of Scranton, 18-7, in Landmark Conference action Saturday afternoon.
            The Royals jumped out to a 7-0 lead before junior midfielder Maureen Helfers hit the back of the net midway through the first half.  Scranton had a 13-3 advantage at halftime.
            Attack Caroline Pryor led the Royals with four goals while attack Kaela Mahon had three goals and an assist.  Defender Katie Slade netted a hat trick for Scranton with a team high five ground balls while defender Kristin Pickell had two goals and an assist to go with four draw controls.  Defender Katie Oehl had four ground balls and three caused turnovers.  Midfielder Jilliana DePaolera and Kaitlin Lazorko each had a goal and an assist for the Royals.
            Junior midfielder Sarah Carman and sophomore Allison Hess, pictured at right, each had two goals for Moravian while Helfers, senior attack Paige Warbrick and senior midfielder Jillian Pagliei each scored once.  Freshmen attack Erin Connell and midfielder Caroline Styslinger each had assists for the Greyhounds while senior midfielder Katie Wise had four ground balls and three draw controls.  Carman and freshman midfielder Michelle Palmieri both added ground balls while Hess had three draw controls.
            Scranton had a 34-20 advantage in shots, a 28-22 edge in ground balls and a 14-12 edge in draw controls.  Moravian senior goalie Courtney Rosenberg had 12 saves while Cassie Murphy started and had a save in 30 minutes of action for Scranton.  Kathleen Smart added nine saves in the second half for Scranton.

Vs. Drew University - Lost 16-5 - Boxscore

            The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team dropped a 16-5 Landmark Conference match to visiting Drew University Wednesday afternoon on the HUB Quad.
            The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a goal from senior attack Paige Warbrick at the 3:39 mark, but the Rangers answered with five straight goals to build a 5-1 lead, and Drew led 6-2 at the intermission.
            Junior midfielder Staci Brown led Drew with four goals and an assist while sophomore attack Aileen Musynske netted a hat trick.  Junior attack Brook Connell had two goals and an assist for the Rangers while junior attack Cara Jefferies added two goals.  Junior midfielder Sloane Coles contributed a goal and an assist while sophomore midfielder Lyndsay Rossi, junior midfielder Emily Mastellam junior attack Rebecca Schild and junior attack Lyndsay Fry each scored a goal.  Coles also had five draw controls and four ground balls while senior defender Jayme Alfano caused three turnovers.
            Senior midfielder Jillian Pagliei, pictured above, led the Greyhounds with three goals to move into a tie for second in school history with 126 points, and she is third in goals with 111 while Warbrick and junior midfielder Sarah Carman each had one goal as Warbrick moved within seven points of 100 for her career.  Carman also had team highs of four ground balls and three draw controls for Moravian while freshman midfielder Michelle Palmieri added four ground balls.  Senior midfielder Katie Wise had an assist for the Greyhounds.
            Drew had a 35-17 advantage in shots, a 25-19 edge in ground balls and a 12-9 edge in draw controls.  Ranger junior goalie Rachel Hanley had nine saves while Moravian senior goalie Courtney Rosenberg added 12 saves and three ground balls.

At Susquehanna University - Lost 18-7 - Boxscore

           The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team opened its 2010 Landmark Conference season with an 18-7 loss at Susquehanna University Saturday afternoon.
            The teams traded four goals to start the match, and the Crusaders had a 5-3 lead before netting six straight goals to end the first half with an 11-3 advantage.  Susquehanna would score the first two goals of the second half.
            Senior attack Paige Warbrick, pictured at right, and junior midfielder Sarah Carman each had two goals for Moravian while senior midfielder Katie Wise and freshman midfielder Michelle Palmieri each contributed a goal and an assist.  Sophomore attack Allison Hess netted a goal for the Greyhounds while senior midfielder Jillian Pagliei had an assist.  Wise had six ground balls and four draw controls while junior midfielder Maureen Helfers added four draw controls and three ground balls.  Carman had six ground balls while Palmieri added five ground balls.
            Sarah Wright, Ally Bauer and Phoebe Nicholls each contributed three goals and an assist to lead Susquehanna while Kirsten Detwiler had two goals and three assists.  Erin Dyer and Lindsey Derstine each tossed in two goals for the Crusaders while Ainsley Rossitto had a goal and an assist and Caroline Sisson and Jennifer Nguyen each had goals.
            Susquehanna had a 51-24 advantage in shots and a 15-12 edge in draw controls while Moravian had a 31-26 edge in ground balls.  Moravian senior goalie Courtney Rosenberg had 18 saves to become the first goalie in school history with 500 career saves, now with 504, while Emily Stankaitis made ten saves for Susquehanna.

At Wilkes University - Won 21-12 - Boxscore

            The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team snapped a four-match losing streak with a 21-12 non-conference win at Wilkes University Thursday afternoon.
            The Colonels opened the match strong, taking a 4-2 lead on a goal from midfielder Amelia Farnham just over ten minutes into the contest.  However, the Greyhounds scored ten straight goals to run out to a 12-4 advantage, and Moravian led 12-5 at halftime.  In the second half, the closest Wilkes would get was 13-7.
            Senior midfielder Jillian Pagliei, pictured at right, led Moravian with five goals to move into third in school history with 108 goals while senior attack Paige Warbick and junior midfielder Sarah Carman each had three goals and an assist.  Carman also had a match high seven draw controls to go with two caused turnovers.  Freshman attack Erin Connell added two goals and three assists for Moravian while freshman attack Sarah Shostak had two goals.
            Sophomore attack Allison Hess had a goal and two assists for the Greyhounds while junior midfielder Maureen Helfers and freshman midfielder Michelle Palmieri each had a goal and an assist.  Senior midfielder Katie Wise contributed a goal, four ground balls and three draw controls while Helfers had four draw controls and three ground balls.  Junior midfielder Angel Genther had a goal and five draw controls for Moravian while sophomore attack Shannon Algeo had a goal.  Freshman midfielder Caroline Styslinger added two assists.
            Attack Erica Sundberg led Wilkes with four goals and four draw controls while attack Stephanie Harkins added three goals.  Farnham added a goal, two assists, four ground balls and three draw controls while attack Lindsey Davenport had a goal and an assist for the Colonels.  Midfielder Jaqueline Harrison, midfielder Amanda Tilley and attack Melissa Farrell each had one goal.
            The Greyhounds had a 49-29 advantage in shots and a 26-8 edge in draw controls while Wilkes had a 23-19 edge in ground balls.  Moravian senior goalie Courtney Rosenberg, pictured at left, made ten saves in 49 minutes of action while freshman Melanie Morris made one save in 11 minutes.  Colonels goalie Cassie Cronin had 17 saves.

Vs. Alvernia University - Lost 20-8 - Boxscore

           The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team dropped a 20-8 non-conference decision to Alvernia University on a rainy Tuesday afternoon at Rocco Calvo Field.
            The match was originally supposed to played on the HUB Quad but was moved to the turf due to the weather.  The Crusaders opened the scoring on a goal from junior midfielder Felicia Sippel just 1:27 into the match.  Moravian answered a minute later on a goal by sophomore attack Allison Hess, pictured at right, but Sippel gave Alvernia a 3-1 lead.  The Greyhounds closed within 4-2 on a goal from freshman midfielder Michelle Palmieri, but the Crusaders scored ten of the final 11 goals of the half to take a 13-3 into the intermission.  The teams traded goals most of the second half.
            Sippel led Alvernia with five goals while sophomore midfielder Samantha Landis and freshman midfielder Alyssa Verrillo each tallied four goals.  Landis also had team highs of right ground balls and six draw controls while Sippel had eight ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.  Sophomore attack Sarah George had two goals and an assist while freshman attack Allison Bainbridge added two goals for the Crusaders. 
            Junior midfielder Sarah Carmon led Moravian with three goals, five draw controls, three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers while senior attack Paige Warbrick had a goal and an assist.  Hess, Palmieri, senior midfielder Katie Wise and junior midfielder Maureen Helfers each found the back of the net once for the Greyhounds.  Sophomore midfielder Angel Genther, pictured at left, had three caused turnovers, three ground balls and two draw controls for Moravian.
            Alvernia had a 47-21 advantage in shots, a 39-22 advantage in ground balls and a 15-12 edge in draw controls.  Crusader freshman goalie Victoria Kearn started and had four saves in the first 30 minutes of the match while sophomore goalie Jennifer Czarnecki had four saves in the second half.  Moravian senior goalie Courtney Rosenberg stopped 16 shots.

Vs. Muhlenberg College - Lost 20-5 - Boxscore

            The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team dropped its third straight match, falling to rival Muhlenberg College, 20-5, Wednesday afternoon in a contest that clinched the Matte Award for the Mules.
            Muhlenberg scored the first five goals of the match, two in the first 2:02, before Moravian junior midfielder Sarah Carman, pictured at right, got the Greyhounds on the scoreboard.  The Mules had a 13-2 lead at the intermission, and posted advantages of 34-10 in shots, 20-12 in ground balls and 18-8 in draw controls.
            Senior midfielder Danielle Scarrone led the Mules with three goals and three assists while senior midfielder Amanda McGovern and sophomore midfielder Angela Napoletano each had three goals and two assists.  McGovern led Muhlenberg with four ground balls and four draw controls while Napoletano had four ground balls and two draw controls.  Junior attack Danielle Rosen had three goals while senior midfielder Alyssa Bascelli added two goals, an assist and a team high six draw controls.  Freshman attack Alex Bellini had a goal and an assist for the Mules while freshman defender Alexandra Franck had four caused turnovers.
            Carman led Moravian with two goals, two ground balls, two draw controls and three caused turnovers.  Junior midfielder Maureen Helfers added a goal and an assist while senior midfielder Katie Wise and senior attack Paige Warbrick each had goals.
            Greyhound senior goalie Courtney Rosenberg had nine saves in the match while Muhlenberg keeper junior Allisyn Vachon had three stops.

Vs. Swarthmore College - Lost 17-5 - Boxscore

           The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team dropped it second straight home match, and its first of the season on the HUB Quad, falling to Swarthmore College, 9-5, in non-conference action Thursday afternoon.
            The Garnet scored three straight goals to start the match before sophomore midfielder Angel Genther netted her first career goal in the seventh minute to get the Greyhounds on the scoreboard.  However, Swarthmore would score eight more first half goals to lead 11-3 at halftime.
            Genther, pictured at right, led Moravian with two goals, four ground balls and two draw controls while sophomore attack Allison Hess and senior midfielder Jillian Pagliei each had a goal and an assist.  Pagliei added three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers while senior midfielder Katie Wise had a goal, three ground balls, three draw controls and two caused turnovers for the Greyhounds.  Junior midfielder Maureen Helfers added an assist and three draw controls.
            Sophomore attack Annelise Mowry led Swarthmore with four goals and two assists while midfielder Nicole Vanchieri added three goals.  Sophomore midfielder Marie Mutryn and junior midfielder Amy Vachal each had two goals and an assist while senior midfielder Abbe Muller netted two goals.  Freshman midfielder Beth Martin had a goal and an assist for the Garnet, and led the team with four draw controls and three ground balls.  Freshman midfielder Sarah Panepinot added a goal and an assist while sophomore midfielder Maddie Williams had an assist, four ground balls and three draw controls.
            Swarthmore had a 38-23 advantage in shots, a 22-19 edge in ground balls and a 12-10 edge in draw controls.  Carnet senior goalie Allison Grein made 11 saves in 51 minutes of action while freshman keeper Majani Naine had one save in the final nine minutes.  Moravian senior goalie Courtney Rosneberg, pictured at left, had 15 stops to increase her school record career total to 451.

Vs. Wesley (DE) College - Lost 15-14 - Boxscore

           The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team let a pair of leads slip away in its 2010 home opener, falling to Wesley (DE) College, 15-14, in a non-conference contest played at Rocco Calvo Field Tuesday afternoon due to field conditions on the HUB Quad.
            The Greyhounds jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first 10:58 of the match including two goals from junior midfielder Sarah Carman. Moravian had a 6-1 lead after the first of four goals from senior midfielder Jillian Pagliei; however, the Wolverines would score five straight goals to tie the match at 6-6 on a tally from sophomore attack Katelyn Randes with just over six and a half minutes left in the first half.  Pagliei would net two more goals including one with 51 seconds remaining to send the Greyhounds into the intermission with an 8-7 lead. Pagliei's goal with 2:55 left in the first half was the 100th of her career, making her the fourth player in school history to reach 100 career goals.
            Wesley opened the second half with two goals to take its first lead of the game on a goal from freshman midfielder Meggan Apgar.  Moravian pulled back in front, 11-10 on a pair of goals by sophomore attack Allison Hess, pictured at right, the second with just under 20 minutes to play.  After the Wolverines tied the match at 11-11, the Greyhounds would score three straight times to take a 14-11 lead on a goal from junior midfielder Maureen Helfers with just over ten minutes remaining.  Wesley answered with four goals in a span of four minutes with freshman midfielder Jen Jacobs netting the winning goal with 3:14 to play.
            Hess and Pagliei, pictured at left, each led Moravian with four goals and an assist for five points with Pagliei added five ground balls..  Carmon added two goals, an assist and a match high seven draw controls for the Greyhounds while Helfers had two goals, six draw controls and four ground balls.  Sophomore attack Heather Yawger had a goals and two assists for Moravian while freshman midfielder Caroline Styslinger had a goal.  Senior midfielder Katie Wise had five ground balls and three draw controls while sophomore midfielder Angel Genther had four ground balls.
            Jacobs led Wesley with four goals while freshman midfielder Chelsea Buttacavoli had three goals and three draw controls.  Junior midfielder Stephanie Bailey added two goals, and assist and two caused turnovers for the Wolverines while Randes has two goals.  Senior defender Brooke Bennett, freshman midfielder Nina Cornog and Apgar each scored once while freshman midfielder Sarah Bull added a goal and an assist.  Cornog had five ground balls and three caused turnovers for Wesley while freshman defender Joren Lutz had a match high six ground balls.
            Moravian had a 44-40 edge in shots and a 20-9 advantage in draw controls while Wesley had a 28-27 edge in ground balls in the game.  Greyhound senior goalie Courtney Rosenberg had 18 saves to push her school record total to 436 while freshman goalie Alyssa Batty had 26 saves for Wesley.

At Neumann University - Won 19-9 - Boxscore

            The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team posted a 19-9 non-conference win at Neumann University to move back over the .500 mark for the season.
            The Greyhounds jumped out to a 3-0 lead on a hat trick from senior attack Jillian Pagliei in a span of 1:20 with the first goal coming just over four minutes into the match. The Knights scored three of the next five goals to pull within 5-3 before Moravian scored the final eight goals of the first half for a 13-3 halftime lead. The Greyhounds would score the first four goals of the second half to extend their lead to 15-3 before Neumann scored six of the final eight goals in the match including four in the final ten minutes.
            Pagliei, pictured at right, led Moravian with six goals and an assist for seven points while senior midfielder Katie Wise added three goals and an assist for four points. Sophomore attack Allison Hess netted four goals for the Greyhounds while junior midfielder Sarah Carman had two goals. Junior midfielder Maureen Helfers contributed two goals and two assists for Moravian while sophomore attack Heather Yawger and freshman midfielder Michelle Palmeri each had a goal.
            Freshman midfielder Caroline Styslinger had two assists for the Greyhounds while junior midfielder Angel Genther and sophomore attack Lauren Gober each added an assist. Wise led Moravian with five ground balls, four draw controls and two caused turnovers while Carman, pictured at left, contributed four ground balls. Senior defender Brittany Deiling had three ground balls for the Greyhounds while Gober added two ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers. Helfers and Genther also had two ground balls as did sophomore defender Brittany McNabb.
            Sophomore midfielder Alex Bohen led Neumann with four goals while senior attack Colleen Finnegan added three goals and an assist for four points. Senior midfielder Tiffany Baker led the Knights with seven ground balls.
            Moravian had a 39-15 advantage in shots, a 27-18 edge in ground balls and a 10-4 advantage in draw controls in the match. Greyhound senior goalie Courtney Rosenberg played the first 30 minutes with three saves while freshman Melanie Morris saw her first collegiate action in the second half, making one save. Junior goalie Kathleen Sinclair made 14 saves for Neumann.

At Neumann University - Postponed to March 14th

            The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team has had its non-conference match at Neumann University scheduled for Saturday, March 13th postponed due to the weather. The match has been rescheduled for Sunday, March 14th at 2:00 p.m. in Ashton, Pennsylvania.

Vs. Assumption (MA) College in St. Petersburg, FL - Lost 19-9 - Boxscore

            The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team suffered its first loss of the 2010 season, falling to NCAA Division II Assumption College, 19-9, in a non-conference match Wednesday that had two of the five colleges with greyhounds for mascots facing off.
            Assumption scored the first two goals of the match, but Moravian would come back to tie the contest at 3-3 on the second of three goals by senior attack Jillian Pagliei.  However, Assumption scored eight of the final 11 goals in the first half to head to the intermission with an 11-6 lead.  Assumption would out-score Moravian, 8-3, in the final 30 minutes.
            Pagliei, pictured at right, led Moravian with three goals while junior midfielder Sarah Carman found the back of the net twice to go with two draw controls.  Senior attack Paige Warbrick, sophomore attack Allison Hess and freshmen attack Sarah Shostak and midfielder Caroline Styslinger each scored goals for Moravian.  Junior midfielder Maureen Helfers led Moravian with three draw controls while senior midfielder Katie Wise had a team high five ground balls.  Senior defender Brittany Deiling added three ground balls.
            Senior attack Emily Morrell scored a match high five goals for Assumption while junior midfielder Erin Theriault had three goals.  Sophomore attack Danielle D’Amico, freshman attack Erin Vana, junior attack Erin Gombos and sophomore midfielder Laura Strelis each had two goals apiece.
            Moravian senior goalie Courtney Rosenberg, pictured at left, made 21 saves in the match to become the first goalie in school history to reach 400 career saves, now with 415.

Vs. Bryn Mawr College at Swarthmore College in Tri-Co Invitational - Won 18-7 - Boxscore

            The Moravian College women’s lacrosse team opened its 2010 season with an 18-7 non-conference win over Bryn Mawr College in the opening match of the Tri-Co Invitational at Swarthmore College Saturday morning.
            The Owls scored first, just 19 seconds into the match before Moravian senior midfielder Jillian Pagliei, pictured at right, netted three straight goals as the Greyhounds took control with six consecutive tallies.  Moravian had a 12-4 edge at halftime after senior attack Paige Warbrick scored her second goal of the half with just 13 seconds before the intermission.  The Greyhounds out-scored Bryn Mawr, 6-3, in the second half.
            Pagliei led Moravian with four goals which gave her 100 career points, the fourth player in school history to reach 100 career points, while senior midfielder Katie Wise added three goals and an assist.  Junior midfielder Maureen Helfers also had a hat trick for Moravian while Warbick finished with two goals and an assist, which gave her 21 career assists, breaking a tie for the school record.  Junior midfielder Sarah Carman netted two goals while sophomore attack Heather Yawger has a goal and an assist.  Freshman midfielder Caroline Styslinger, freshman Michelle Palmieri and sophomore attack Lauren Gober each had goals for Moravian.
            Freshman attack Sarah Shostak and sophomore attack Allison Hess each had assists for the Greyhounds while Wise led the team with five ground balls, four caused turnovers and three draw controls.  Carman contributed four caused turnovers, four draw controls and three ground balls while Styslinger had four draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers in her first collegiate match.  Pagliei added three caused turnovers and had three ground balls while senior midfielder Brittany Deiling had three ground balls and two draw controls.
            Gabby Marangell and Emily Levine led Bryn Mawr with two goals apiece while Miranda Gordon-Zigel, Caroline Heffernan and Zoe Rond-McPherson each scored once.  Evan Schneider had an assist for the Owls while Managell had five ground balls, four caused turnovers and three draw controls.  Gordon-Zigel added six draw controls while Heffernan had four ground balls and five caused turnovers.
            Moravian had a 40-21 edge in shots, a 27-20 advantage in ground balls and a 15-12 edge in draw controls.  Greyhound senior goalie Courtney Rosenberg made seven saves in the match while Bryn Mawr keeper Kate Flaming made 14 stops.
