2004 Review

The 2004 Moravian College women’s soccer team posted a record of 9-5-4 with a 2-4-1 record in the Commonwealth Conference. Head coach Eric Lambinus finished his sixth year coaching the women with four student-athletes named to Commonwealth All-Conference Teams. Senior defender Kelly Haymaker (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley HS) earned First Team honors and junior forward Megan Collins (Dover, DE/Caesar Rodney HS), junior defender Erin Gonda (Bethlehem, PA/Salisbury HS) and senior goalie Jill Vaccaro (South Salem, NY/John Jay HS) each earned a spot on the Second Team.

Collins led the team in scoring with 10 goals and two assists for 22 points. Senior forward Brianne DeVries (Stockton, NJ/Delaware Valley HS) added seven goals and five assists for 19 points. Freshman midfielder Anndrea Yetter (Saylorsburg PA/Pleasant Valley HS) added six goals and four assists for 16 points while sophomore forward Kristina Adams (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery HS) contributed four goals for eight points.

Haymaker had three goals and two assists for eight points in her final season. Gonda and fellow junior midfielder Jessica Cordani (Point Pleasant Beach, NJ/Point Pleasant Boro HS) and sophomore midfielder Alisha Davy (Oaklyn, NJ/Haddon Township HS) each contributed two goals and two assists for a total of six points.

Juniors defender Kindal Estes (New Providence, NJ/New Providence HS) and midfielder/forward Lindsay Pohl (West Lawn, PA/Wilson West Lawn HS) each had one goal and one assist for three points while freshmen Jill Newswanger (Pine Grove, PA/Pine Grove HS), Kristina Larsson (Lititz, PA/Warwick HS), and Lauren Jo Zickmund (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom HS) each made one goal for two points in their debuts season.

Also contributing for the Greyhounds were senior Greer Hockenmeier (Skillman, NJ/Montgomery HS), junior Meghan Boccard (Huntington, NY/Huntington HS), sophomores Lindsey Lustrino (Spring Lake, NJ/Manasquan HS) and Tiffany Bianco (Fairfield, NJ/West Essex Regional HS) and freshmen Allison Solomita (Chatham, NJ/Chatham HS), Casey Simpson (Laporte, PA/Sullivan Country HS), Dana DeAngelis (West Caldwell, NJ/James Caldwell HS), Amanda Detwiler (Macungie, PA/Upper Perkiomen HS), and Kellie Barnes (Newton Square, PA/Marple Newton HS).

Vaccaro led the Hounds in the goal this season. She played 1,590 minutes with a 1.25 GAA, 103 saves, a 9-5-3 record and six shutouts. Freshman Kelly Wight (Port Murray, NJ/West Morris Central HS) made 10 saves for the Greyhounds in her 110 minutes in goal this season.

Moravian had four student-athletes named to the 2004 Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation Fall Academic Honor Roll including Adams, Davy, Gonda, and Haymaker.
