2006 Review

The Moravian College women's soccer team completed the 2006 season with a 7-9-0 overall record and a 2-5-0 record in the Commonwealth Conference. The Greyhounds are under the direction of eighth-year head coach Eric Lambinus.

Leading the Greyhounds was senior forward Kristina Adams (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery HS) with a total of 24 points from 12 goals including four game-winning goals, while freshman forward Alessandra Valdetara (Butler, NJ/Butler HS) had three goals and four assists for a total of 10 points.

Adams, who set a school record by scoring four goals in a 4-0 win at Widener University, was named to the Commonwealth All-Conference Second Team. Junior defender Robyn Klem (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic HS) was named to the All-Conference First Team.

Sophomore defender Alexandra Frascella (Chatham, NJ/Chatham HS) contributed three goals, two of which won matches and one assist for the season. Junior midfielder Jill Newswanger (Pine Grove, PA/Pine Grove HS) put two goals in the back of the net to go along with her three assists while senior midfielder Alisha Davy (Oaklyn, NJ/Haddon Township HS) had one goal and four assists. Davy earned a spot on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team.

Sophomore midfielder Katelyn Killea (Chatham, NJ/Chatham HS) had two goals and one assist for five points while junior midfielder Allison Solomita (Chatham, NJ/Chatham HS) had one goal and one assist. Senior defender Lindsey Lustrino (Spring Lake, NJ/Manasquan HS) had also contributed two assists on the year.

Sophomore keeper Caitlin Corrigan (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge HS) had the goal to herself the entire season. She played 1,445 minutes with a 1.37 GAA, 71 saves, a 7-9-0 record and five shutouts.

Also contributing for the Greyhounds were juniors forward Casey Simpson (Laporte, PA/Sullivan Country HS) and defender Kellie Barnes (Newton Square, PA/Marple Newton HS); sophomore defender Georgia Castellano (Cherry Hills, NJ/Cherry Hills West HS) and freshmen defender Terri Roberts (Danville, PA/Danville HS), forward Amanda Friedman (Randolph, NJ/Randolph HS), midfielder/forward Brittany Deiling (Chews Landing, NJ/Triton Regional HS), defender/midfielder Damara Varney (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic HS), midfielder Kathleen Wise (Ardsley, PA/Abington HS) and midfielder Jerianne Weiss (Allentown, PA/Salisbury HS).

Lustrino, Davy, Newswanger and Frascella were all named to the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation Fall Academic Honor Roll.
