The Community College Fellows Program at Moravian College
Beginning in the fall of 2011, Moravian College will annually welcome as many as thirty transfer students to campus as Community College Fellows. Up to ten fellowships each from Northampton Community College and from Lehigh Carbon Community College and up to five each from Warren Community College and Bucks Community College will be awarded.
Features of the Program
Fellows will receive an annual renewable Fellowship of $10,000. The Fellowship also includes recognition activities, including dinner with the President once a semester and regular invitations for special events and opportunities for networking. We hope that Community College Fellows will be actively engaged in Moravian’s partnership with the local community colleges by making recruitment visits to local community colleges, writing testimonials about the transition from a community college to a four-year college, and hosting prospective transfer students when they visit campus.
Candidates must have a 3.50 grade point average, be a full-time student, and must submit an essay outlining reasons for beginning a four year degree program of study at a Community College, reasons why they feel they would be a strong candidate for the fellowship, and a description of both academic and career goals that led them to consider attending Moravian College. All candidates are required to have a personal interview with the Director of Transfer Enrollment.
