Moravian College to Host Candidate Conversation Focusing on Children’s Issues

(Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) — Moravian College will host a “Candidate Conversation,” featuring several local political candidates on Wednesday, September 18, from 9 to 11 a.m. The event is sponsored by the Children's Coalition of the Lehigh Valley in association with Focus Five for Kids, the nonpartisan state wide campaign to infuse this year's election with a greater concern for issues impacting children and their families, and the Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children. It is open to the public and admission is free.

The purpose of this event is to seek a commitment from area candidates for the state legislature focusing on Pennsylvania's children. The candidates will discuss their vision for improving health, education, and home-life for children.

Participating in the event will be the candidates for 16th State Senatorial District, Charles Dent and Richard Orloski; the 18th State Senatorial District - Lisa Boscola and Nick Sabatine; the 131st State Legislative District - Pat Browne and Peter Schweyer; and 133rd State legislative District - T.J. Rooney and Howard Forman.

Prosser Auditorium is located in the Hauper Union Building (W. Locust & Monocacy streets) on Moravian’s Main Street Campus. For more information concerning the Focus Five campaign or the event, please contact John Reynolds at (610) 861-1408.
