Mrs. Frances Hesselbein, one of the best-known leaders in the nonprofit sector, will participate in an interactive talk show program at Moravian College on Monday, March 22, at 7:00 p.m. in Prosser Auditorium. Hesselbein is CEO/president of Peter E. Drucker Foundation and former CEO of Girls Scouts of U.S.A. She has brought attention to high-quality management excellence in the not-for-profit sector, as well as business and government. The program will focus on Mrs. Hesselbein’s professional background and achievements, the not-for-profit sector and its relationship with the business and government sectors, and the challenges and competencies of the organizations and leaders of the future.
During her 13 years as CEO of Girls Scouts of U.S.A., Hesselbein was credited with transforming the organization with an effective management structure and a strategic vision for the 21st century. As Drucker Foundation president, Hesselbein has been instrumental in fulfilling its mission to lead social sector organizations toward excellence in performance. One of the tenets to which Hesselbein ascribes is that non-profits should not be isolated from expectations of high-quality management or from seeking opportunities available in the for-profit sector. Two of the characteristics of visionary leadership that Hesselbein possesses are her ability to leverage her experiences for the benefit of the nonprofit sector and her enlightened concept of leadership.
"A conversation with…Frances Hesselbein" is sponsored by The Moravian MBA and the Not-For-Profit Advisory Board of Moravian College. The lecture is open to the public and admission is $10. Moravian alumni pay $5. Prosser Auditorium is located in the Haupert Union Building at Locust and Monocacy streets, Bethlehem. For more information, call (610) 807-4444.
