Volunteer opportunities range from short term volunteer commitments to leadership roles. After reading about the volunteer opportunities listed below, please click on the volunteer engagement form in order to indicate your interest or to learn more about a particular program.
Help plan the 50+ Club Breakfast and volunteer at the breakfast, which takes place during Alumni Weekend in May. One-two committee meetings are held per year.
The Alumni Board oversees the strategic planning for the Alumni Association and helps to plan the direction of alumni outreach and programming. The Alumni Board usually meets four times per year, with one of these meetings taking place during Alumni Weekend. Each member is appointed to at least one active subcommittee that meets between Board meetings. Terms for the Board are three years, renewable for one term.
Alumni Weekend Committee:
The Alumni Weekend committee helps plan for and organize Alumni Weekend, including the Alumni Weekend parade. Committee members also volunteer for the Alumni Weekend, which is held in May. Approximately 3 -4 meetings are held during the year.
Alumni Weekend Volunteers:
Volunteer during Alumni Weekend for 2-4 hours (or more, if desired).
Area Club Committees:
Area club steering committees help plan area club events and programming, including contacting other alumni and setting up events. Two to three committee meetings are held per year. Currently structured clubs are in the Lehigh Valley, Washington-Baltimore area, and metropolitan New York area.
Blue and Grey Committee:
The Blue and Grey Committee supports the Athletic programs of Moravian through fundraising and other programs.
Business and Industry Council:
The Business and Industry Council includes local business people from the community whose purpose is to promote interaction between local businesses and Moravian’s students. The council meets approximately three times a year and plans two to three programs per year.
Act as a mentor, speak on a panel, attend the career networking reception, or provide internships. For additional information call the career development office at 610-861-1509 or visit the Alumni Career Advising Program web page.
Collect and write news from classmates for the class notes in the alumni magazine. Submit a column three times a year.
Class Reunion Committees:
Reunion committees help plan five year class reunions, which take place during Alumni Weekend in May (for the 25th and older) and during Homecoming in the fall (5th-20th). Responsibilities include: contacting classmates and planning events not in the Alumni Weekend or Homecoming schedule. Phone conferencing enables long distance alumni to attend the 1-3 committee meetings that are held during the year.
Class Reunion Fund Committees:
Reunion fund committees work in coordination with reunion committees to increase giving for reunion classes.
Founder’s Day Committee:
Plan Founder’s Day activities for the Women’s College graduates. Two committee meetings are held per year. Founder’s Day takes place on the Friday of Alumni Weekend
Homecoming Steering Committee:
The Homecoming Steering Committee consists of the Homecoming chair, Kidsfest co-chairs, parking chair, and other Homecoming volunteer leaders as appropriate. Steering committee members are responsible for recruiting Homecoming volunteers and giving input in Homecoming planning and evaluation.
Volunteer for 2-4 hours during Homecoming, including Kidsfest and gate and parking positions.
Rocco Calvo Golf Tournament Volunteers:
Help with registration, serving hot dogs, and overseeing specific holes at the Rocco Calvo Golf Tournament, which takes place the Friday of Homecoming Weekend.
