Moravian College Receives Newcombe Foundation Grant for Scholarships

Moravian College is the recipient of a grant of $20,000 by the Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation to continue the program for mature, second-career women students in the 1999-2000 year. This is the eighteenth year that Moravian’s Division of Continuing Studies has received this award.

The Newcombe Foundation of Princeton, NJ, has awarded $654,000 to 26 colleges and universities in a geographical area which includes Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York City, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.

Women applying for Newcombe scholarships must be at least 25 years old, be admitted to a degree program at Moravian College, have completed at least half the credits in their degree or certification program, and provide evidence of financial need. More than 20 students each year have been assisted by these grants.
