32nd Annual Moravian College Dancers Concert
Bethlehem, Pa., March 16, 2007—The Moravian College Dancers, under the artistic direction of Mary Anne Gillen Hoffman, will perform on Friday, March 30, and Saturday, March 31, at 7:30 p.m. in Foy Concert Hall located on the Hurd Campus in Historic Bethlehem. Dawn Ketterman-Benner is faculty advisor, and guest choreographers are Jennifer Ascosi, Reina Faith, and Jill Fitzgerald.
The production features over 100 dancers, and is the only college concert in the area with participating guests from Lehigh Valley dance troupes. Performers will dance jazz, tap, ballet, and modern dance and the guest performance will showcase Irish step dancing, Ukranian folk dancing and many other styles of dance, including both live and recorded music.
Hoffman began her dance training with the Ronnie Clifford School of Dance in Bethlehem, and continued on as a member of the Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley (BGLV) under the direction of Alexi Ramov. She studied also at the PA Governor’s School for the Arts and Boston Conservatory, and performed with the Boston Ballet Theatre, Welton, and as a guest artist with BGLV. She teaches dance at 6 elementary schools in the Bethlehem Area School District for the ASPIRE after school program. Hoffman has been teaching ballet at the College since 2001, and serves also as the Moravian College Dancers artistic director. She choreographed the ballet The Dance for Seventeen, (Tanec ot Sem ‘nadstat` Russian,) for the performance.
Benner is professor and head women’s tennis coach in the Athletics Department at Moravian College, as well as faculty advisor for the dance company.

Guest performances will be danced by the Coral Nolan Ballet, the PA Youth Ballet, the Repertory Dance Theatre In Motion, Tap Ties, the Moravian Star Irish Dance Troupe and the High School of the Performing Arts Dance Ensemble.
The Moravian College Dancers is a coed organization that allows students to express themselves through ballet, modern dance, and jazz. Students take technique and composition classes in the fall semester, and they spend the spring semester preparing for the concert. They are advised by Dawn Ketterman-Benner.
